When I saw it this morning on Alans channel I cried for him. Nobody deserves this but least of all him... The guy is a unique ray of sunshine and we all need to find ways to help him out with the fortress.
The one thing I can really appreciate about Dave and this channel is the sense of community he fosters with his family, friends and co workers.
I totally agree he treats his Viewers like family and the heart of gold his momma gave him and helped so many people... He has a Awesome team of workers/friends.. I Enjoy every video he post... I could be having a really hard day and they all make me laugh

I feel his pain, my wife and I lost our house to a fire 2 years ago, a month before our first child was born, and we lost everything. If it hadn't been for amazing people to help us, people like you Dave, we wouldn't be where we are now. Such a devastating loss! My daughter and son-in-law only had time to each grab a child before their house and entire contents burned to the ground. They had just taken pictures the week before of their entire house contents because my daughter wanted to “be prepared “ for an emergency. It took 5 years for them to rebuild.

Alan is literally one hell of a guy! From being a construction genius to his loyalty and personality. This video literally made me tear up. I do not care who thinks I'm weak for it. If you watch Dave sparks from the Diesel Brothers to his personal channel and have gone the whole journey with them then you would grasp what happened. Dave is correct he's family and blood couldn't couldn't them anymore closer in my opinion. I haven't lost everything like him but I know what he's going through! Your an amazing person Dave and honestly I look up to you in your work ethic to charitable causes

Hang in there Alan. I had this happen to my shop in February and lost everything. The devastation subsides but the rebuilding feels overwhelming. Take it one day at a time.

MORE ALAN, MORE COMPOUND!! This whole complex is amazing. So much content about so many different fields, construction to wind turbines, too many to list. This is gold for HeavyD And Alan. Show us how you build it, your though process, the logistics, laying conduits, laying the blocks. Don't gloss just show its being built and all the highs and lows in between. This is a rare glimpse into a rare person like Alan and yes you HeavyD.
A metal building on a mountain top is probably an excellent magnet for lightning. Lots of lighting rods on the roof, properly grounded will help immensely.
He needs a lightning diverter at a higher point and not anywhere near any important building, plus properly ground and lightning protect his electrical and his building

I swear if I didn't live four minutes from fire protection with Station 4 a few blocks away, I would sprinkler everything. In 30 years as a professional firefighter, I rarely saw sprinklered buildings become total losses. My condolences to Allan. I have seen the cost to people's lives from fire more times than I would like. Having friends like you makes it a bit easier. Cheers.

Scott. A building with a full on sprinkler system does no good if you don’t have water or a pressure system to operate it. There is no well or electricity to run a pump.

And it all started from a Ventilator going out.
I was up at the hurricane recovery with my wife and kids and watched you helping other people in my town and have watched lots of your videos of you doing the same type of thing. Appreciate your Christ like effort to help everybody with your gifts.
I am a former government contractor that worked for Oshkosh defense. I worked on these trucks as well as the lvsr version of your truck that the marines and navy use. I also worked on the mtvr 7 tons. These trucks are top notch.

We had a house fire a couple years ago, lost everything. But we all got out and no lives were lost or injured. Now I can say everything was replaced and it was a blessing in disguise. My heart goes out to him

I saw his situation early on and could tell the project at its current pace may never be completed in his lifetime. I can't imagine how that made him feel. Every year slipping away, him getting older and the pace of the project slowing. The weight of that must be immeasurable. So sad to see this setback, but excited to see the project leap forward thanks to HeavyD and crew and all of the viewers gobbling up this content!

It’s sad. I had to help out my friend once when his house burned down. He was in the same state as u Allen, overwhelmed and barely able to sift through things. We got a dumpster and the skid steer and excavator and cleaned it up. It’s a hard thing to do but it helped him to move forward. I hope the work you guys did will help Allen to move forward too.✌️

Lost my wife then my only son 2 years later, diagnosed with stage IV throat cancer and then my house burned down a few months ago and my spouse left me and kept the insurance proceeds for our home and the contents. You're not the only one bro... at least you've got some solid friends helping you with your recovery.

Yeah I had my great re set two years ago 40 years of tool collecting gone in 45 minutes all my lathe mill cnc gone plus it was where I lived bloody meth head burnt the entire complex of workshops down , it rips your soul apart bro but it's not the end , I sort of like my new lathe and mill 😢

You guys accomplished a whole lot today on the clean up.. it's gonna help him be more motivated to clean up the rest... After loosing the stuff from his Grandma he has to know she must of been looking out for him to make sure he was out so he didn't get hurt in the fire...
As a firefighter, that's one of the harder things we deal with, when we're putting out the fires in someone's home, seeing their entire life just go up in flames. It sucks. But it's awesome he has you guys to help him. If I was in the area I'd definitely help any chance I could. I'm not Allen, but thank you for being that kind of family for him

My heart is with you. I lost everything but what I had with me. My home, wood shop. bee equipment. Even had things stolen before clean up. Including all my bees that were in the home yard. Some was not replaceable like by beekeeping logs for the last 20 years. 40 plus years of herbal research on paper waiting to be put on the net.
Yet out of the disaster the amount of people that came out of the woodwork to help was mind bugling. People I didn't even know that came to help clean up. The support was amazing.

I helped a guy I used to call my best friend; shift workshops (entire customs shop panel paint hot rods etc) 5 times! Huge huge undertaking....just me and him everyone else would bail? I did entire month straight never once asking for a cent ever. I had an RX7 that I was building and I wanted him to paint because he is literally a perfectionist👌
But after some time it turned from 'yeah bro no sweat I'll paint your car' to......
'bro you will need to pay for materials for this paint job you want me to do?' (insert stocked face 😲 I'm thinking "want me to do" 🤔 I would have thought it would have been "that I want to do for you" ? 1st sign something n ain't right?) too 'bro who do you think you are? What's a wide body FC3S RX7 go for these days? New Series 8 FD RX7 motor never turned a single RPM, triple plate clutch. All the front guards are hand crafted steel no warpy wavey shitty fibreglass, rear fuel flap is pumped to be flush with the wide body in the rear looks factory but ½ wider 😛

I wish Alan the best in recovering from this but I must add that if he's had several fires like this he need to take a good long look at how he's storing things and taking the steps to fire prevention.
The main issue I see is fire trucks will have an issue with the road. In my county, they won't allow a house construction on a lot unless you can show there's access for fire and rescue vehicles. It's a super crazy place to build a "Castle". There's no source of water.

I’m with Alan with the way he pronounces apricot. That’s how we say it here on the east coast. If I’ve learned one thing about Utah from watching you guys, Fab Rats, and Matt’s Off Road Recovery, it’s that’s people out in Utah pronounce certain words differently than we do here. The one that always gets me is measure. They do a lot of “may-suring” on Fab Rats and MORR.
As a survivor of a wild fire myself, I can understand how Alan feels about losing everything. Hope he can once again come back from the ashes and start over again. Good Luck Alan. Glad you are part of the DB team and they have your back.

It's so sad to this happen to Alan, he is such a good guy and has put his blood, sweat and tears into his compound. Things like this happen to the best of us and it really really sucks. But the thing is time has shown that when you go through a big hardship or bump in the road, things usually get exponentially better than they were before. man this hurt my heart ive lost it all due to a fire once as a kid and it really took me back to that tragedy and how much it affected my grandparents ...i hope a miracle happens for alan hes a cool dude
Man my heart is definitely feeling the weight of this. I feel so bad for Allan. What a horrible turn of luck. I've been in a similar situation and there isn't any real way to prepare for something like this its just devastating. Prayers being offered up.
Just few days back I started watching this channel - watching as many videos as possible - love this channel - Man - This is a better place for you and for me in this world with this beautiful pure hearted helping people on this Mother earth. I've been clearing my junkyard for years and years.. often wondered if it would be easier just to watch it burn.. but that clean up looked even less fun then mine .. I keep telling myself the iron age is over for me .. hard pill to swallow.. but I'm ready for a chair on a porch and a lovely lady to bring me tea..

Having lost everything to a house fire I know how devastating this can be, I keep remembering things I have lost 20 years later.

I got to say one thing about you you are a good friend to Alan to take all your equipment and your time and go up there and do what you're doing I've heard a lot of good things about you in the last few months when I subscribe to you you were rescuing an old man and his houseboat and I thought you were really cool for that but after seeing all your videos you are definitely a man from heaven love watching you thank you for all your good work to all the people you've helped thank you

I watched this fire on a live and I did not know your Alan was this Alan.. when they were dumping water on it , it seemed to make it worse the fire intensified, so sorry this happened but glad he has help and support to try and recover from this loss

Great thing to do.... I know money doesn't bring back memories and family heirlooms etc, however it will help Alan get back on his feet and buy tools etc that he will obviously miss.

I just saw one of those ambulances at a car show last weekend. I spent more time looking at it and wondering what is history was than looking at any of the other cars. Feel bad for Alan losing everything and I know there's allot that can never be replaced. Keep your head up Alan.
