I used to do salvage in the mid 80's and learned how to 'wheel and deal' with all sorts of stuff from various industries, from military, medical, and marine, to commercial electrical & transformers, boilers to printing presses, and much more. I compiled a database of buyers and brokers. Some in CA, the rest scattered around the USA. Back in 1970 we took my old uncle to look at an old Bulldozer. He got all excited when he saw it and claimed it was historic old 1935 D8. The first year they made them. We helped him for three days and he cranked it up. We all freaked out it ran. He bought it for $100 and sold it for $2500 back then. Was a very memorable experience.
For future reference, pull out the old fuel filters before you try starting it. A dodgy lift pump can be replaced with a syphon feed from a fuel can strapped up high. Don't forget the return.

Amazing. One man's treasure is another man's profit. Years ago, some friends and I moved a 60ies White single axle tractor out of the backyard of a woman's house in Phoenix. Was thinking the same. I wonder what the result is when you add salaries and costs of equipment (both running costs and the "cost" of money stuck in the equipment). Probably still a profit but not so large.
Paid for by television cameras property of discovery these big channels is just another way for TV to take over accept now the commercials are in the video itself and or they advertise cutting into the video
@@rosscharnock2268 It's very true. If you have the capital of equipment and salary cover, then other streams of revenue come into play that make it simpler. Money makes money in the end.....and a lot of hard labour and passion also! Not everyone has the knowhow to take on these kind of projects and still turn profit.... and ultimately you can tell that these guys actually enjoy their hard work.
There's people all over wisconsin that have tons of steel in old equipment just laying around in their yard. And do nothing about it. Kudos to you for getting the metal back in use
Awesome video! I enjoyed it immensely. I looked for a follow up to this but didn’t see one. I’d really like to see you all do some more of this type stuff.
This was amazing to watch how you orchestrated everything to get it out. Trailers on top of trailers and so on. This was my first video of yours I watched. I am a fan now!
Always watch ur vids before work. Always got entertaining recovery or look at these cool old trucks I jus bought stuff. Little curious about the music at 7:50. Very 90's sitcom/saved by the bell vibes. Good 💩
Heavy, just wanna thank you all for doing these videos. I almost died twice with this covid and I am bound to oxygen 24/7. I am a hard working man that’s not used to doing nothing, but your videos put a smile on a grim situation.
Start eating brazil nuts and you'll lose the oxygen pretty quickly unless their treatments really messed up your lungs. I also had it three times between Dec 19 and Feb 2021 (also almost dying once or perhaps an almost aneurysm on the third time also counts as 2 - pardon any typo in that) but Jesus gave me the nuts as a remedy for the clots that affect the breathing. Fennel water also helps for the smaller ones that result from the larger ones being broken up and I haven't had to go into hospital once. Even when I was breathing at about 10-20% of what I'd normally be able to breathe it took about 11hrs (including 5hrs sleep) to clear it back to 80-90%. That was 5hrs munching as I was driving and 6hrs sleeping while eating 200g of brazil nuts for my 180lbs. Don't blame the docs, just be happy that The Lord has kept you until now so that you could see this. Nowadays I try and keep both on standby but I haven't experienced anything since early May and a recent test has shown me to be completely clear now.
I love how when you look at Heavy, and his guys they look scary, and mean, but they are quite the opposite. These are great people, hard working and friendly I hope to get a chance to meet Heavy, Diesel Dave, and the guys maybe get a handshake. You guys have helped me through a lot since January 2021, and I hope to be able to thank you all someday.
I mean you’re also only seeing a small piece of their lives. They’re working and are on camera, of course they’re gonna be professional. But once the cameras are off they could be totally different people. That’s the thing you have to remember about content creators
I guess nothings impossible but it looked like more was missing than what's left. Seemed pretty bare bones, but I wish the same thing. Dad should have never sold his 89 Freightliner. Now that IH, for sure plenty of people would jump on that. I can't fix it or afford to and I want it lol Good lawn ornament to start with.
Me and my friend literally scrapped metal to feed our families. I learned a lot about scrapping and theres money in it if you do it right. If I had the resources I'd start one. In texas theres so much scrap and old vehicles on properties everywhere. You got me looking up trucks and trailers🤔. Anythings better then punching a clock. Keep the videos coming im definitely a new fan💪🏾
Y'all are really fun to watch. Getting that crane started was pretty awesome. You have some really talented guys working for you. I think that is the fun part for me. Watching y'all put your skills to work.
Love the show. I used to scrap too. However, without all the equipment you have, it was a little more difficult. This brought back some great memories. I still love to do stuff like this when I have the chance. I also love to recover any vehicle I can, from cars to large trucks, with or without axles. ALL of your content is right up my alley!! 223,000 lbs is my guess. Also, I can't wait to win one of your giveaway trucks!!! lol
DAVE, IF I WASN’T HOME RECOVERING FROM MY 3RD SPINAL SURGERY (AFTER BEING INJURED IN THE LINE OF DUTY & IN THE MOST PAIN IN MY LIFE & OUT OF WORK) I WOULD BE OUT THEIR HELPING ALL OF YOU!!! MAY OUR LORD & SAVIOR BLESS YOU & YOUR FAMILY.
Looks like you have a great team and you guys are having fun, my estimate would be 150 tons of steel. That by looking at it quickly, good for you love how the old machines fire right up
Not sure on weight... But the "recovery" truck would be awesome in its original shape.... Maybe with a repower... And I love the old beefy white Semi... Both would be awesome to see rolling again!!!

Robocop was a movie back in the 90’s about a Detroit cop who was killed and they brought him back as a machine and that’s how he got called robocop badass movie or movies I should say cause there’s more then one go check them out
@@2shottv I’ve seen them all, I remember the saying I’ll buy that for a dollar too I couldn’t remember if it was in robocop or the running man. It seems like it was during the running man show when Arnold was competing that that saying was said. Both great movies, I love 80’s movies.
Hey, with situations like this crane, or the old digger on the island, couldn't you have like a portable hydraulics generator that you can run lines over to something like this to power it's hydraulics?
Gotta love how old machinery can just start right up. Did you hear about how they were able to start up that 50 year old IS-3 heavy tank in Ukraine? 46.5 Metric ton tank set up on a pedestal as a museum piece. All they had to do was pour in some fluids, hook up a battery, fuel it up, work the diesel through the pipes and start it up. That old behemoth came to life like a giant out of legends.
Yea, wasn’t that the rebels? Then they actually went and fought with it! It was on a pedestal for DECADES in a park as a monument..LMAO. SOthey rebels took it to war!!!!
I would love to see that big old white truck restored and running. Also that Winch truck too. I love those old style vehicles. I am guessing close to 150 tons was hauled out.
That old winch truck would be an Awesome Advertisement going down the road. Not to mention How Cool it would be Semi Restored. And like you said to start with it would be an Awesome Offroad Recovery vehicle
my friends work at Detroit Desial, if u need parts for that crane , u can still find parts for it in Michigan, Detroit Desial is still in operation, and lots of the old Buses have Detroit Disal motor in it!
Love your videos.. especially those from Cerro Gordo. I am a shutter carpenter of profession and if I was living nearby I would deffinetly go there and lend this guy a hand. You got yourself a subscriber from Norway.. 😊
365000 lbs sounds about right That’s a hell of lot of work for two days I was watching the video saying raise the boom and retract it , safety’s are keeping it from being retracted. Them old cranes are beast . It’s a shame it went to the scrap. Being a crane operator for many years I appreciate them old timers. Nice job getting it all cleaned up , and I’m sure money wise , you cleaned up also!
I love looking in old fields full of abandoned equipment in the country side. You can find some really cool stuff plus hidden treasures inside the cabs of old trucks. Wish I could be there with him enjoying the exploration of the goodies. I see some great restoration projects in the bunch. The old tractors are really cool too.
This made my day I’m in Louisiana and we haven’t had power or cell service for a week but we’re alive and no damage. drove 20 mins so I could get service and watch my favorite you tubers. Some form of normalcy back
Don't care what the weight for scrap turns out to be. A lot of that stuff is usable with a little repair work and definitely restorable. 99% of that is better than ANYTHING built today.
Bringing old forgotten equipment back to life... Love it man you struck gold on this one.. Most people wouldn't have seen the value and let it all go to waist
Most satisfying thing to me was seeing the stuff go for scrap and will get recycled in to some thing new, not sat there rusting away and every one made some money
That’s the exact colour I painted my Hilux. It’s a Peugeot colour. Looks black when in shadow, yet Bronze with crazy copper flake in the sun. Loved it. 🙌🏼
185 A TON?! That is high as hell...., I see lots of "farmer junk", in fields that have not been farmed for decades, from my small plane. getting to it, and then transporting it is the catch, that and the fact they don't want to cut loose of it!
I had a friend that scrapped old mines in West Virginia (RIP Joe) but he had cranes dump trucks Everything was stolen when he died but this video made me think of him, Seeing all that equipment! I was fortunate to get to go to a old load out (You have to have miners card to be on property) I have real cool pictures on the place before it was torn down Love watching your videos ! Long story short you have a new fan😁👍 Funny thing is I just found your channel yesterday and have been being watching for hours glad I was off this weekend 🤣🤣🤣👍
Yes Drill Pipe is a hot product, we use it for a wild horse ranch currently trying to build out pins for 6,000 more horses but were only able to get 3 truck loads so far. Be funny if we had spoke for that pipe considering been contracting with everyone for every piece we could find lol
That old swab rig and dog house lol. Plus the drill collars that are solid metal easily rethreaded for 2500 that dude got a good deal. Looks like he had a newer swab rig chilling in the front yard too
Very nicely done my good man! I'm guessing 230 tons. Your going to make a lot of money, there's no question! The best 8k you have spent! Again, YOU ARE THE MAN!!
Honestly that’s insane that he had a low miled TIE fighter there. Worth a lot

I love watching your videos. You guys are hilarious and so much fun. Your videos are a positive thing in a world that needs more positivity.
The moral of the story is that you can turn 8k into big money if you have a million bucks worth of equipment and lots of employee's.
So true
Was thinking the same. I wonder what the result is when you add salaries and costs of equipment (both running costs and the "cost" of money stuck in the equipment). Probably still a profit but not so large.
Paid for by television cameras property of discovery these big channels is just another way for TV to take over accept now the commercials are in the video itself and or they advertise cutting into the video
im sure youtube paid a major part of those wages to make this video
@@rosscharnock2268 It's very true. If you have the capital of equipment and salary cover, then other streams of revenue come into play that make it simpler. Money makes money in the end.....and a lot of hard labour and passion also! Not everyone has the knowhow to take on these kind of projects and still turn profit.... and ultimately you can tell that these guys actually enjoy their hard work.
I love how heavy D is like a kid in a candy shop with all that’s in this yard!! I love how excited he gets! Awesome 😎
There's people all over wisconsin that have tons of steel in old equipment just laying around in their yard. And do nothing about it. Kudos to you for getting the metal back in use
And clean things up at the same time.
Awesome video! I enjoyed it immensely. I looked for a follow up to this but didn’t see one. I’d really like to see you all do some more of this type stuff.
What a find. It's amazing how much of this sort of stuff is out there if you look...
You guys make everything look so easy with your great equipment. Good work.
This was amazing to watch how you orchestrated everything to get it out. Trailers on top of trailers and so on. This was my first video of yours I watched. I am a fan now!
100 tons
Always watch ur vids before work. Always got entertaining recovery or look at these cool old trucks I jus bought stuff. Little curious about the music at 7:50. Very 90's sitcom/saved by the bell vibes. Good 💩
it would be really cool to see you restore some of these old trucks, like the white truck and the red/green winch truck. And definitely the crane
Heavy, just wanna thank you all for doing these videos. I almost died twice with this covid and I am bound to oxygen 24/7. I am a hard working man that’s not used to doing nothing, but your videos put a smile on a grim situation.
1.23 million pounds GREAT VIDEOS!
@@nooboftheyear7170 thanks for the info.....
Kenny glad you’re still here with us my friend! Keep getting better ❤️🩹 hugs!
I think they are mormon
Glizzy gobbler....
They are very nice men, don’t piss them off though. Truly a hornets nest.
They are inspiring
I mean you’re also only seeing a small piece of their lives. They’re working and are on camera, of course they’re gonna be professional. But once the cameras are off they could be totally different people. That’s the thing you have to remember about content creators
CHUNK IS CHUNK ‼️ 💰💰💰💰💰
Yeh buddy
All those old rigs are pretty cool. You should restore them and get good value out of them. Good score you guys!👍🇺🇲
Man that cabover is so sweet. I don't think it's too far gone, hopefully someone rebuilds this rare gem.
I think you are going to have about 70 thousand pounds
You should definitely restore those old trucks! Bring the old back to life!!
And the crane
Love all your shows, like the scrap runs.
What part of tex you in fresh?

Y'all are really fun to watch. Getting that crane started was pretty awesome. You have some really talented guys working for you. I think that is the fun part for me. Watching y'all put your skills to work.
Love the show. I used to scrap too. However, without all the equipment you have, it was a little more difficult. This brought back some great memories. I still love to do stuff like this when I have the chance. I also love to recover any vehicle I can, from cars to large trucks, with or without axles. ALL of your content is right up my alley!! 223,000 lbs is my guess. Also, I can't wait to win one of your giveaway trucks!!! lol
DAVE,
IF I WASN’T HOME RECOVERING FROM MY 3RD SPINAL SURGERY (AFTER BEING INJURED IN THE LINE OF DUTY & IN THE MOST PAIN IN MY LIFE & OUT OF WORK) I WOULD BE OUT THEIR HELPING ALL OF YOU!!! MAY OUR LORD & SAVIOR BLESS YOU & YOUR FAMILY.
Looks like you have a great team and you guys are having fun, my estimate would be 150 tons of steel. That by looking at it quickly, good for you love how the old machines fire right up
Ha guys I watch your show from day enter in your truck contest never got pick by the look of everything Iam questing 250 ton
SPARKS help are gold...they alll bring special know how....invaluable....
Not sure on weight... But the "recovery" truck would be awesome in its original shape.... Maybe with a repower... And I love the old beefy white Semi... Both would be awesome to see rolling again!!!
I say around 49,865 pounds scrap

26:00 checked that old truck for shells casings ? this thing looks beat up like Optimus Prime in Age of Extinction especially with the holes in the front windows xD great video 👍was fun to watch ✌
On the 67 year old veteran have a bad heart and skin cancer can't do a whole lot of shit nowadays that's why I love watching your show so much you get any little old motorhomes let me know love you guys
Of course that crane started, it's a 2 stroke Detroit! They always start.
I didn't see them pull the rocker cover first, to make sure that the injectors and rack were free.
Love the robocop clip my favorite. “I’ll buy that for a dollar” classic
Was it Robocop or was it The Running Man???
Robocop was a movie back in the 90’s about a Detroit cop who was killed and they brought him back as a machine and that’s how he got called robocop badass movie or movies I should say cause there’s more then one go check them out
@@2shottv I’ve seen them all, I remember the saying I’ll buy that for a dollar too I couldn’t remember if it was in robocop or the running man. It seems like it was during the running man show when Arnold was competing that that saying was said. Both great movies, I love 80’s movies.
@@2shottv you’re absolutely right, I found the clip and it was from Robocop. I could of swore it was The Running Man lol 🤙🏼😎
Now for real, if your about to completely restore that tow truck just sell it to some patina lover! I love it. The cracked fender is just pure love
Watching all of you coordinate your moves is totally amazing. A well oiled machine.
Hey, with situations like this crane, or the old digger on the island, couldn't you have like a portable hydraulics generator that you can run lines over to something like this to power it's hydraulics?
It would need to be small enough to fit on the machine it is supplying hydraulic for, so I don't think so. Could be wrong tho.
You are referring to a hydraulic power pack yes you could but it might not be the easiest thing ever

@@BillyT886 Yep. LOL
🤣 That Tank was tired of “just sitting up there”.
It wanted to fight the Russians!!!

I would love to see that big old white truck restored and running. Also that Winch truck too. I love those old style vehicles. I am guessing close to 150 tons was hauled out.
Heavy please restore the inty tractor and inty boom truck just sayin thanks love the Chanel
Yeah, that white one I really cool.
That crane would have made an EPIC flag pole. Put a huge flag on it and fly it high Heavy!!!!!
A fuck joe biden flag lmao 😂
The amount of ads TH-cam is showing is a noxious. 6 adds non skippable. Even as full time TH-camr I think this is to much.
Love how Heavy and the team is keeping the old iron going. I hope they do a resto or Heavy D build on them love to see them drive again.

my friends work at Detroit Desial, if u need parts for that crane , u can still find parts for it in Michigan, Detroit Desial is still in operation, and lots of the old Buses have Detroit Disal motor in it!
Brilliant, i love this stuff. Imagine the original owner saying yes I could have got more but it takes thousands in equipment to move it...
Yet to see the biggest humvee transformation
Love your videos.. especially those from Cerro Gordo. I am a shutter carpenter of profession and if I was living nearby I would deffinetly go there and lend this guy a hand. You got yourself a subscriber from Norway.. 😊
Man, that yard had some cool stuff. Love the old trucks. I’d guess about 180 tons of scrap.
I don’t know about anyone else but I’d like to see you do a build with that big white and black truck
I think you'll sell about 100000lbs as scrap another 40-50k will get sold for projects and you will keep 60-80k
Yes!
That would be cool.
I just appreciate your bold decision, & it inspire young generation to face a risk! Without confronting risk life never changes!
I love seeing old equipment come back to life.
365000 lbs sounds about right
That’s a hell of lot of work for two days
I was watching the video saying raise the boom and retract it , safety’s are keeping it from being retracted.

@Vic Mackey lol there’s always that one negative person trust me my family is just fine we’re all packing heat.
I can only imagine how the dude felt watching them load everything, especially when they got the crane started lol
Probably very happy to see it go, many people don’t have the means to get rid of all that junk material quickly.
Guaranteed he was super happy. Eight grand in his pocket and a huge eye sore gone.
Don't care what the weight for scrap turns out to be. A lot of that stuff is usable with a little repair work and definitely restorable. 99% of that is better than ANYTHING built today.
I agree!!
Especially the crane
Yes indeed most of the equipment could be operational with little investment.
250.000 pounds .

833,000 is what it is. I see a lot of loads.
One man's trash is another mans treasure. BEYOND AWESOME!!!
I had a friend that scrapped old mines in West Virginia (RIP Joe) but he had cranes dump trucks Everything was stolen when he died but this video made me think of him, Seeing all that equipment! Yes Drill Pipe is a hot product, we use it for a wild horse ranch currently trying to build out pins for 6,000 more horses but were only able to get 3 truck loads so far. Be funny if we had spoke for that pipe considering been contracting with everyone for every piece we could find lol

Where do these 6000 horses come from and what will happen to them?
That old swab rig and dog house lol. Plus the drill collars that are solid metal easily rethreaded for 2500 that dude got a good deal. Looks like he had a newer swab rig chilling in the front yard too
