This is so very informative everyone should see it. We take bulbs out and switch them up all the time in Airbnbs. I am constantly amazed people enjoy blue light in their beautiful lake home airbnbs.
Great tips. I learned the importance of lighting dark spaces & shadowed room areas after finding an exhausted stray cat curled-up asleep in a dark living room corner one morning. She had slipped in unnoticed about 7pm the night before.
I love the fixture above the dining table! Our old house has wall sconces in both the living room and dining room, though we switched out the 1970s fixtures for something classic that matched the new central light in each room. Center fixtures on dimmers (dining table and TV room) are essential. Bedroom in our new house was so much bigger (plus the ceiling fan had a frosted cover over the bulbs, versus those 'flower' shades) than the old, it was too dark to read in bed. I found some wall mount lamps with dimmers, which work great as we only have a night stand on one side. Our old house, from the 1930s, didn't have enough wall sockets, but there were recessed sockets above the living room mantel and built-in buffet in the dining room. Probably for electric clock, radio, or coffee pot, but also holiday lights. That's what I use them for now. We used to just get 'soft white' light bulbs, but that whole situation has now become a complicated (and expensive) mess. Thanks for the suggestions!
Not only was this great advice on lighting - it was also well done presentation OF lighting. I could not only hear what he was talking about but could experience and see it. Bravo!
lol ‘I definitely stay away from 4000K’…meanwhile here in the USA, many people are buying 5000K because it’s marketed to us as “daylight” so people think that’s a good an natural thing. More people need to know about this! There’s nothing worse that going to someone’s house and it feels like a hospital.
Great lighting tips and an electrician’s dream job installing all those power switches! But that’s a lot of electricity being used. They must get a hefty electricity bill, unless they have solar?
I agree with everything except his comment about 3000K bulbs, which is one step up from 2700. This is what I use throughout my home, having tested every temperature. It's still warm but a little cleaner, and maintains the color of artwork, which is very important to me. Anything above 3000K, to me, becomes too clinical. Of course the color of the walls has a huge impact as well. Between 2700 & 3000, I would suggest to anyone to test both directly.
Off topic but it took me a good minute to figure out whether he was American or British...American but he says "rhum" like an Englishman alright, haha!
No mention of what sort of light people look flattering in: that is never from ceiling lights, and always from much lower light. Also no mention of the importance of mirrors and silver reflecting light, which is incredibly powerful and flattering, especially for dinner parties. Also no mention of how light reflects colour: super important. And more, more, more candles.
It is something that stands out in most interior videos, not only this one. It must be particularly exaggerated by changes in camera angles, I think, and less obvious when one is simply taking in a room at one's particular eye height.
Lightshade on screen R is wonky, (I find the Shades ugly and boring) 0:23 the added signature fills the space between. OK: no one's perfect, 'specially me, so the wonky Shade, and it not being to my taste, glossed over - but, in the light of that; I won't take advice from someone who then proceeds 4:58 to insist 'you always want' instead of suggesting, or inviting his a consideration 'my preference is/ I always want/ in my opinion'. Thence a new wonky shade! Some people share Ideas/their alternatives, others just tell people what to to do, they're that arrogantly conceited, encircled by abject conformists.
this house is horribly old feeling and dour… and I don’t see the point in lighting up the opposite wall so it glows.. like why ? Weird… unless there’s some pretty beautiful artworks or sculpture there … seems a waste of a lighting feature.. this is pretentious interior … but I agree with low wattage lightbulbs in bedrooms and the odd lamp in other rooms for warmth and glow. I think it’s just the general dark moodiness and wall colours and the retro 40s esque themes and styles that are a bit depressing…
You're right. Let's get some more straight men in. Every room will just have a huge tv in it and a gaming pc with a mini fridge for beer. 😂 Jk, straight men got some style too.

when he said he brought light bulbs to the hotel, I knew he gets it
Wonderful advice Brandon. It's the make of break of a successful interior. Lighting sets the mood and either makes you want to linger or leave x

A great use of un matched color. Brendan has clearly been at it for years. Casting a warn eye on trade.
Ty - So good!!!!!!!!

It's definitely a regional pronunciation. I've heard it in Arkansas and Connecticut.
I think he sounds Swedish.
Tout est bon pour faire de l’argent !
Ce monsieur et ses conseils ne sont que des évidences !
There are no do's and don'ts, only suggestions.

So many crooked shades!

Not sure why the uneven lighting of your face so distracting. I would be able to ignore it if any other topic was being discussed.

Definitely not your channel
You are not the expert.
You wish you had a house like the one from the video.

The gays excel at this kind of stuff let them help you
What an odd thing to be bothered about!
