i am from kolkata india. My own uncle lost his phone inside taxi last month. And ofcourse taxi driver took it and never returned. My uncle went to police. They said give your imei number and relax. After 8 days they called and gave back the phone my uncle lost. They said they tracked it down by imei number and waited till it goes to end customer who bought it for cheap. And then directly went at his door and took the phone and gave to my uncle.
So you can stop it with just a stroke of technology. Pakistan govt should adopt and give citizen relaxation some where.
The issue in Pakistan is that the phones get smuggled to Afghanistan. Border forces are useless and don't do anything about it. If the phone stays in Pakistan then it can be tracked and retrieved.

Me [21 M] lives in Karachi. Being an IT and CS student in Tier 1 NEDUET I have to attend many classes for the courses I am enrolled in other than my university. I think thousand times before carrying Laptop or my cell phone along with me. If I carry Mobile additionally I have to carry a shoulder bag to put my phone in the bag for obvious reasons.
Apart from this, when casually meeting with my friends at hotel or chai bethak, we all gather at one of friend s house to gather all our electronic devices at his house and then we go for outing.
living life here in Karachi has been miserable for all of us. May ALLAH protect us from the evil present in form of Snatchers and robbers. Peace out
Aim for a master's degree in a developed western nation. Tier 1 colleges of any country provide the best education to their students, which eventually helps them to grab a good job abroad. Atleast India aur Pakistan jaisi countries mein toh yahi scene hai.

I left Karachishitti 1 year ago and moved to Islamabad. Now, I often go to F6 Markaz by walk with my laptop and mobile to do my remote job from my favorite cafe and comeback home around 1AM walking peacefully. No fear and need to activate alert mode. This city eliminated all such non-issues I was surrounded in.
I suggest easiest immigration to people living in Karachi, move to Islamabad but only if you are earning 3 lac +. The rents here are crazy. And there is no point in moving to Islamabad if you are living in I or H sectors. Remember this.
Kaha 3 crore ki population wala megacity, kaha 10 lakhs ki population wala private city.. comparing apples and oranges 😅

My phone was snatched from in front of police station in Islamabad, I ran inside police station to ask them to do wireless , as there are always police standing at every entrance of Islamabad. Instead of doing wireless the policeman started running and asked me to follow, I followed him and asked where He is running? He said, "I want to see the place where mobile was snatched". And he was standing right in front of location of the incident. And story not ended here, They asked me to sit in a line of 4-5 people to wait for my turn. xD
The stolen phones are exported to dubai and middle east countries as second hand piece

@@fireangel911 OK for Starters, There is no water crisis or mobile phone snatching endemic in Hyderabad, Nawabshah, or any of the smaller cities in Sindh. Also, even in Punjab. Some cases have been reported recently since the country is going downhill, but not in excess like Karachi. It is the people of Karachi only that are left to suffer.
In india also mobile theft problem exists! But But govt of India had launched a unique solution were all Phone IMEI is connected to CERI , you can easily lock your phone once it’s stolen in any nearby police station r by yourself which makes mobile no use to the thieves . So now stolen mobile cases maybe Nil r very few .
So honest…. Great analysis
One solution is to make your own force (from the general public) deploy them in your own area/town. This is the way we can restrict the snatchings rather than hoping things will improve some day.

Junaid bhai, the problem with your statement 'vote usko dena hai jiski reality aapke reality se milti jhulti ho' is that first of all such a person would never win an election (coz who wins is already pre-decided by the powers that be), and even if that person wins, he can't change anything because the system is rigged in favour of the oppressor and not the victim. Robbery is a job market feeding thousands of commoners and benefitting people in power, so it won't go unless the entire chain is broken.
Despite of all the tauntings from the police we must filed our proper reports of each snatching. Due to the actual number of open snatching cases, an SHO must feel pressure from the seniors.

Recently almost less than 2 months ago when I was in Rawalpindi for my internship (btw I'm from jhelum) my mobile phone got snatched in Saddar on Main NLC choke which is highly secured area (that's what all think) hr jaga cameras hain or Sara army ka area ay, on the left FWO (frontier work organization) jidther sy snatcher mobile le k gya tha bike pr.
Maghar jb may un k pass gya they said "we don't have any access to the camera's ye sirf GHQ walo k pass hota ay" , after that I went to police station but after seeing there behavior I knew that now there's nothing which can bring my mobile back.
