I live in Delhi and I don't get any electricity bill for 6 months in a year( November to April) because of low consumption (under 200 units which is free). During Summers electric consumption increases but the govt again gives us a subsidy of 50% till 400 units consumption.
The per unit rate is 4₹.
This has to be most stupidest shit ever, delhis power comes from coal which we import.

I am a residence of Islamabad. I drove Honda City car from 2018-2021. Then I had to shift on bike due to price hikes. People are silent even now and it is the result of their silence that have made them reached to such an extent. I am so glad that now people are striking and fighting. I'm from the state of Sikkim. My electricity bill is Rs. 2.90 per unit till 300 units and Rs 4.00 after 300 unit. I hav never paid more than 1500/= in my life.
I am from himchal pradesh, India the rate per unit in our state is 3 rupees ! And 125 units are already free to use ! From past one year our electricity is bill is always 0 as our consumption is only 70 units per months which saves alot

God help Pakistani people. I live in Kolkata, India. Our electricity provider is private company. My consumed unit was 430 units and I have received bill of around Rs.3700. It is said that Per unit is costliest in Kolkata and it became a big election issue. We always complain to our govt. why our electricity bill is so high and we get no free units like many other states in India. After watching this my perspective will change for sure.
CM gets cut from private. Even Tata Adani Ambani give some "donations" to parties.

Lol the highest per rate unit is in ahmedabad. Kolkata doesn't even come close. Per unit rate for residential properties is close to 8 rupees.
8 ruppes per unit is normal in Mumbai too if you consume too much...no need of free & subsidised electricity like in Delhi

I understand there are certain things can't be discussed or addressed while sitting in Pakistan. But the real root cause of all these issues is "ESTABLISHMENT (Army Generals)." Many of my family members are army officers and whenever I used to visit them in Garrison (Cantt areas) I never witnessed any loadshedding, power outages nor any gas or other utility issues. Their power, gas even petrol is free, they have their own Khansamaas(Cook), driver, gardener, hell even their children education is free. Back then I never looked that way like why they are so privileged. Defense consumes more than 60% of country's budget and on top of that they possess DHA, Fauji(Food company), Askari bank and many others, you just name it and they have it. There's no way this country can run like that anymore. Either we must overhaul this entire system or sit quietly and watch this country turning into next Yamen or Libya. So sad!!!

In India we have 7-9 rupees per unit rate that too for urban areas only, rural areas are bit subsidised and some states have made the first 200 units free for BPL families & minorities.
Smart digital meters are being installed in each home so there is little to no scope of theft. People get their payment notification on mobile, if anyone doesn't pay their bills on time their electricity will be automatically cut off by Smart meters even Govt. departments have to pay their bill on time due to Smart meters.
The max Electricity Cost for 500 units in urban area would be 3500 - 4500 rupees i.e 13500 Pakistani rupees maximum.
Paying 50000+ PKR for below 500 units is outrageous. Pak Govt. is robbing its honest citizens in broad daylight.

For BPL families it is justified but rich people should pay the bill without any subsidy. Otherwise the State would have cut on capital expenditures or either raised the fuel tax to fund these subsidies. Capital infra is the need of the hour.

To give you a comparison, The per unit cost where I live in India ranges from 2/unit to 7.5-8/unit depending on the units consumed. This is a slab based system where the common grid supplies electricity to every household. Now, PKR 163,000 is approximately INR 44,000 which is a lot as per Indian standards as well. In 44K you can use 3-4 AC, along with all the other appliances at full capacity full load. Also, a suggestion would be for you to install the cheapest 3 KW off-grid solar panel on roofs so that your dependence on the state is reduced. Yes, it will be expensive based on your imports and economic conditions but it will be a worthwhile investment. You will produce sufficient energy to power yourself during the day and In night you can use Grid + Battery to save cost.

I have 5 AC , 2 refrigerators , 4 Computers , 6 room fans . AC usually run for 17-18 hours a day , PCs run 14-15 hours a day , so are fans. I work from home and have some staff members. The bill for last month was Rs 18k. My state is Uttrakhand , India.

im from india my home is pretty big around 2900 sqft , it has a total of 5 acs 2 of which are 2 tonnes i have 2 fridges 3 big screen tvs 1 cctv camera with monitor 2 computers microwave oven around 70 -80 lights in all and many fans water purifier etc the average bill we get is around. 4000- 5000 INR with 2 -3 ac moderate use thats 5000 x 3.75 = 18750 pkr and in peak summer we get around 12-15,000 with 2 -3acs heavy use it would be around 57000 pkr , iconsider this bill to be quite reasonable i can live a very comfortable luxury life with not spending extreme amounts

Jokes apart, I pay around 2000 in the summer per month at 7 rs per unit and I have an AC and other appliances, I thought I have been paying way too much, but looking at the crisis in Pakistan I feel blessed to be an Indian.
You should be. Our government and the establishment don't care about infrastructure and creating an actual economy but they're rather rely on debts and staying in power. The bill I paid this month was about 6,600 INR. I don't even use an AC and extra appliances.

I live in Ghaziabad UP (Urban) and have 3 ACs in my home, during peak summers, the ACs run for about 12 hours daily ( total for all 3 ACs), the max bill i have got it 6000 (equivalent to 18000 pkr)and mind you there is zero subsidy in this bill

50-150 units:- 4.8 inr/unit
150-350 units:- 5.8 inr/unit
So if i consume 350 units in a month my bill will be 150+480+1160=1790 inr + 200(meter rent+elec. Duty+ fixed charge)
Total 1990 inr(7400 pkr) i have to pay for 350 units electric consumption. This price is particular for odisha. Different prices for different states
This is not general public for people coming under BPL (below poverty line) price is much lover in odisha.
Odisha is one of the state where electricity is costly... There are states where u have to pay 500-700 inr(1800-2600 pkr) for 350 units...
In India 1.63 Lacs would be the bill of a mid range hotel! with 30-40 rooms. We have 7 ACs in the house and about 3 ACs are used quite regularly. Our peak bill in June, July went upto 13,000, otherwise in summers it generally is Rs. 8,000-10.000
2154 units is quite a lot of electricity consumed in 20 days. It maybe 30-40 percent higher than what we consume.
Divide that amount by 3.3 for conversion into Indian rupee

I understand that the electricity bill is very high in Pak . But I think 400 unit consumption for normal people is very high . In India , 400 is much energy because out appliances are efficient too.
My electricity unit is around 200 unit with Ac , Fridge , 2 Fan , 5 led bulb, led TV, pretty much every thing .
My bill is around 12-1400 😊
But this is normal for big size joint family with 1 electricity meter
400 units in pkistan is normal, if you dont have AC in pakistan you get 400 units normally without AC

In our city, Hyderabad: HESCO linemen use to take bribe of PKR.12000/month from one house for illegal electricity supply. These houses can use up to 3 Air conditions, as per instructions of HESCO employees. These line losses are recovered from the legal consumer of electricity!

I use TV, Fridge, washing machine(3 times in a week), induction stove ( morning evening) cooler, fan, light, WiFi, 2 laptops, 4 mobiles, Alexa, several decoration lights and after this i use to get 600-700 rs bill in Maharashtra(semi urban). Once i got bill of 1100 and i got so angry that i was thinking to go to electric office. I thought there must be some mistake. But seeing this condition in Pakistan....its really painful.
