This was perfect timing for me!! I’m getting my first granddaughter and have been pink crazy!! I didn’t own a single pink item and now I am full on!! Really appreciated the ideas. I love pink and army green. ❤
Just returned from Europe, and locals were wearing white trainers with everything! They looked so smart with dresses on a Sunday walkabout, or with jeans and a trench! I wore this for a while when I returned to the states, however, not everyone understood the look.
That’s my uniform at the moment! And yes, I’m in Europe. Though it’s not necessarily a look for people my age but hey, if I can get into skinny jeans, who cares? Mornings have been so chilly even now, I’ve been surprised that a lined trench is keeping me warm enough! Cos I so wanted to finally ditch the puffer coat!
Hi Jamie. This is a great video! Thank you for showing all these looks with white sneakers. Comfortable shoes are not always easy to find, so sneakers are the perfect way to go. You have demonstrated exactly how to balance the pieces so that sneakers will look great with the outfits. Just brilliant!
I was just wanting to wear my sneakers more because of the comfort level and here we go. Just throw them on with anything - well almost! Much of the time I could, if I stick to the basic ones (I have a leather pair). Another pair (part leather is even more cushioned and while not a platform, still has a bigger profile. So I’ll watch for the bit-more-volume on-top items to balance them out. Writing this partly because it cements it more in my brain. Thanks so much Jaime !
I have white sneakers but rarely wear them. It’s just a personal thing with me. I have a very laid back, retired life. In Alabama I wear flat slides and sandals in warm weather and loafers in cooler weather. Sneakers just feel clunky on my feet. But I still like to see different ways to wear things…even if I won’t do it. 😁
At age 63, I’m still not very happy with how I look in my skirts and dresses with sneakers, even though I know everyone is wearing them. I see women of all ages wearing them in videos from London, Milan, etc. (Those few, very old, fragile ladies look quite precarious in their 4-inch heels on the streets, and outdated). I think sneakers work better with maxis than midis on me. I’m petite and I feel like I look taller in maxis, especially maxi dresses, they give that nice, long line. I’ll make myself try them that way first, after all, I do wear flat sandals with them already, so what’s the difference? Thanks for encouraging us to try sneakers with skirts and dresses, it’s such a practical, comfortable option. I want to try to adjust my eye to this on me, it looks great on others. It just gets trickier to adjust to changes as one gets older, it’s breaking “rules” we learned as girls. I just recently got used to mixing very casual and dressier items, we never did that before, either. That’s the biggest overall fashion change I’ve seen in the last 50 years, mixing levels of formality, for example, wearing a cotton tee with a silky skirt, or jeans with a silk top, just wasn’t done by well-dressed women in the past, only those too poor to have “the right choices”.
Hi! I wanted to share Lilie & White jewelry with you because I think it is affordable quality jewelry that is on trend and very stylish. You can check out the Liliy & White Amazon Store Here: amzn.to/3qIOI9o. All the jewelry in the video is linked in the description for you as well! I think you will love it!
I love wearing sneakers with dresses and trousers. It's an unexpected chic look. When you styled the white tee with the pleated lavender skirt and sneakers, it really elevated the look to be more snazzy. I also loved the striped tee with your cargo pants. You put some really nice outfits together that shows us how well sneakers can look while providing a lot of comfort.
Love how comfy they are with socks, though on hot days I really may have to barefoot in sandals instead. Right now we haven’t even started summer here so I’ll milk this opportunity for all it’s worth!
I love wearing my white sneakers with so many things! I wore them grocery shopping the other day with a pair of lavender wide-leg linen pants and a white tee and it was a cool, casual look. Another time, I was getting ready to go out to eat with my husband and I wore that cotton navy dress with white polka dots that has the cutouts on the sides from Old Navy that you featured a while back (in a different color) and I asked him to choose which looked better, a white sneaker or a platform wedge sandal and he picked the sneakers! I laughed and told him he had chosen the trendier option! 🙂
Honestly, I am still on the hunt for some great ones. The current ones I wear are the only ones I could find that are small enough for my foot. They are also decent quality. Here they are: rstyle.me/+GEvR_RUkbSHWTZwGcbH6AQ. They have good coverage for sneakers but don't show.
I have a basic pair of white adidas and I'm never really sure that they look good on me or if I look like a little kid. I'm going to try and branch out and wear them more.
I suffer from back issues and i also wear a women's US size 11.5 shoe. So I'm stuck. I need to wear sneakers or boots, or some clogs, often mens shoes, to find my size and to wear a prosthetic "cookie" in one heel. I also think sneakers are comfortable for every woman, and its a feminist thing. We all deserve to wear shoes thar are comfortable, as well as cute!
Those are all casual-style dresses, even the silk one (which I have, too, and love). People seem to think any outfit that doesn’t have a form of trousers is formal, but that’s so wrong. Any dress or skirt suitable for daytime wear is casual. Day dresses like these aren’t formal, or “dressy” at all. I wear dresses or skirts almost every day, definitely in the warmer half of the year. Some of us just aren’t fans of trousers/jeans, they’re not very comfortable. Even men are rediscovering the comfort of a skirted or “draped” bottom garment these days, after all, they wore them, too, throughout the majority of our time on earth. I can understand that some people actually do like wearing trousers, because I like wearing my silk joggers, but I get tired of being asked “why aren’t you just wearing jeans?”
It may be in style, but I just do not like the sneaker look, especially with dresses. It just looks awful, like those people you see walking to work, with a nice business suit and ugly tennis shoes.....at least they change when they get there. Why would anyone think clompy sneakers would look good with a breezy summer skirt, or linen pants? Looks like a 5 year old that dressed themself. No, this is one look I can't go along with.
I think it depends on the type of lifestyle you have. I’m a comfort first , small framed lifetime homemaker and grandma of 7 . I would feel silly in heels or dressed up too sharp or in business attire. I have a friend that is a fashionista and has not a single sneaker in her wardrobe. We are all different ❤

I prefer wearing sneakers, so this is very helpful.
I'm so glad!
Black pants with floral top looked really nice!👍
Thank you!

What will replace the white sneakers for this Fall and Winter?

I love this! Thanks so much for sharing Rose! Your husband must know his fashion! 😉
Jaimie, what socks do you recommend?

@@YourGuideToStyle thanks I'll check those out! Socks are so tricky. I think i found some nice no show liners at dsw from that Kelly & Katie line.
I have a basic pair of white adidas and I'm never really sure that they look good on me or if I look like a little kid. I'm going to try and branch out and wear them more.
You definitely should Stephanie! I bet they will look good!!! Once you start you might just love wearing them! 😊
I find myself wearing my sneakers more and more these days.
