Was Beverly Hills Cop 3 really a bad film ?

- Beverly Hills Cop Axel F will be dropping on Netflx on July 3rd and I thought it would be a good idea to review Beverly Hills Cop 3 ! Was part 3 really as bad as some say ? I don't think so and I hope you join me as we talk about ?
I hear your points but must disagree. It is a terrible, confused film. Its a film without any identity because it fails to choose a path.
If it were somber and about refinding himself, that would work. If it was a comedy, it needed a set up where Axel was less involved, not more.
This movie shifts from tense to amusing to farsical much too often and too quickly to work.
Beverly Hills Cop 3 was the first one I watched as a kid and my favorite one in the trilogy, so it really bummed me out hearing people say that it was bad when I got older. But as pointed out in this video, I honestly thought it had the best villain. I just finished Axel F this morning and it actually made me appreciate 3 more.
Finally someone pointed out Ellis DeWald was a good villain, he more proactive compared to the previous villains Victor Maitland and Maxwell Dent.
An interesting thing about the soundtrack to Beverly Hills Cop III is that Patti LaBelle did a track on it. I don’t think most people know it save for those that own the soundtrack, of which i I had on cassette as a teen.
Was her song on it as electric and upbeat as Stir It Up from the original, well no. But it was good to still hear Patti on a Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack at least she could have compensated for the lack of Pointer Sisters.
When they did show teasers for this film in theatres, I do remember them playing Neutron Dance over clips of Axel jumping on the Spider to save the two children. It seemed to work for a teaser. That was something I saw in theatres before a showing of With Honors.
It's a fun action comedy but a bad BHC movie.
I have to respectfully disagree with you. It is totally bad. There is nothing good left in this movie. I don’t care how good the villain was or whatever. When you give them a Beverly Hills cop movie , you got to give them the whole package not half ass and that’s what this movie did. Which is why everyone was super hungry for years and even now to look forward to the new one next week on Netflix. My opinion.
Yes it was. Rewatched all 3 a few years ago. Watch them all together and you'll see how drastic the drop in quality is. 3 doesn't even feel like a BHC at all that's how bad it is.
Number 3 was my favourite one!
I love everything about amusement parks and watching this movie as a young teen made me appreciate the movie so much more. It was my favorite one to go back to just because of the wonderworld scenes. ^^
BHC3 felt like watching children's daytime television instead of an actual action movie (like the previous two films)
The Beverly Hills Cop trilogy is good, the third not being as good as the first two, but it certainly wasn't terrible (similar to The Godfather Part III), the first two are all time classics and the third one in comparison to the first two is decent, but it's no classic, and the fact that Part III came out so many years after Part II didn't help things, similar to Sin City: A Dame To Kill For-It's better seen as a standalone film. I hope Axel F is up to par. On another note, I really hope you are able to watch/react to both seasons of Tokyo Vice, it's an underrated gem of a Yakuza crime drama series loosely based on a true story that not a lot of people know about in the U.S and certainly not here in the U.K. All the best from the other side of the pond 👍🏽
I haven't watched these in a long time, but I always enjoyed the 3rd one, even if it isn't a great movie.
I actually like Beverly Hills Cop III. The only issue I had with it was it was PG-13. The studio got stupid and tried to get more money that way like most studios who do stupid shit like that. For some reason I feel the upcoming part 4 that's coming out will suck way worse than this one ever will even if it's rated R this time. They made Axel have a daughter instead of a son which is already a red flag.
The third one isn’t rated PG-13 it’s still rated R but it did feel more watered down so I can see what you mean
Beverly hills cop 3 is just a good movie in my opinion because this movie has the positive 90s vibes of LA and even it keeps up with 90s trendy cars, clothing & much more

this sequel is cheese as hell , nop i had seen this thing lots of times , i mean i wanted to like it , but the cheeseness is hopeless to like this film at all and nop Ellis DeWald is not better villand than Maxwell Dent, number 1 Jürgen Prochnow is a hell a lot better actor than Timothy Carhart im completely desagree with you , i dont know what BHC 3 you saw but it look like a diferent one, or a lot too late anyways and yes im looking foward to BHC AF it looks cool plus kevin becon is on it, one of my favorite actors of all time!
