The thing about Commander Dante is that he has been around so fucking long that people just don’t remember him not being there. He has been in charge of the Blood Angels for longer than Sanguinius was. Guilliman personally told him to not kneel and put him in charge of half of the Imperium. He is an old man who wants to lay down but he literally has the weight of worlds on his shoulders and he isn’t allowed to stop yet.
Well, I can easily imagine Guilleman and Dante, both depressed as hell, sitting on a bar but prevented from getting drunk because they're space marines

The Night Lords we’re warriors turned to monsters by a Primarch that hated and neglected them (and a lot of new recruits that were just murderers and rapist) The Blood Angels we’re monsters turned to noble warriors by a Primarch that cherished them. Their duality is what makes them my favorite two legions
100 percent agree with you there though I love salamanders a lot because fire is fun I’ll always be a blood angel screaming eternally with the black rage at heart.
So an interesting tidbit that wasn't necessarily ignored but kind of glossed over is that the blood angels were not initially stoked at the idea of being reunited with their primarch as they feared he would judge them harshly and by force make them change their ways, which while savage were brutally effective at the time. However when he was to reunite with them he took the time to learn the name of each and every member present that fay before giving a speech in which he vowed to serve the Legion, not for it to be the other way around. That moment was the huge turning point of the angels changing to what they are today as they had grown so accustomed to being despised that such genuine care and dedication from their primarch changed their course for the better
@@Fordo007 The kind of Legion Ruin that Angron brought and the kind of changes that Corax brought are different. As a clarification, Guilliman "promoted" Dante to be Regent of Imperium Nihilus after Bobby G arrived on Baal. Before that he was just the noble Chad chapter master, and head of the Brotherhood of Blood. Kinda sad Shy didn't whip out the wall of text for Dante's psychic vision of Sanguinius, and/or his meeting with Guilliman like immediately afterwards.
To be fair they did say he'd probably get his own whole episode later, and they probably don't want to clog up this one with stuff that's be covered later
@@CorrionReap I want them to react to Dante fucking *crying* meeting Guilliman. Not crying from beauty, but crying because he thought he led Hive Fleet Leviathan to Baal in order to destroy it in a trap, only to _Devastate_ Baal and be directly responsible for 15-ish Blood Angels successors going extinct. Guilliman did not see it this way, but Dante was also delirious from blood loss and Tyranid venom after being revived from being impaled on the bonesword of a Swarmlord while killing it.
Sanginious not only encouraged his sons to take up the arts, but it was also crucial to retrain the legion so that they could have actual tactics and not just do the world water shtick of “ties some swords to our hands and send us screaming at the brick wall of meat” Key to this was basically needing to piggy back off other legions so they can cooperate and learn from their siblings. That’s how Sanginous and Horus became so close, because the Luna wolves were who he had initially worked with, basically to keep his blood angels around a good influence (hilarious I’m sure). This also had the Benefit of helping to repair their relationship and reputation with the rest of the crusade and their fellow legions seeing how well they are coming along with the Luna wolves so they were able to start working with more legions and have more access to resources they were previously deemed too risky to just give up valuable gear to them.
@@henrypaleveda7760 lemartes is a chaplain of the blood angels, once a regular chaplain that got hit with the black rage, we all know that song and dance: get the rage- become death company etc etc, however after the battle, lemartes survived and was oddly coherent. Astorath examined him and determined he was absolutely 1000% afflicted but through sheer will power alone he’s been able to remain sane enough to not kill allies and still understand orders and remember names and people other than horus-So, at the request of himself and a few other note worthy people in the chapter- lemartes stays alive, frozen in cryo and sealed away until he’s needed for a battle, where he’s thawed out like a Eversore and directs the death company forces on the battlefield from a pack of wild dogs to an actual fighting force. His sermons have been so disturbing that some blood angels go into the black rage just LISTENING to the guy and brother corbulo, the chief apothecary of the blood angels- studies him to see if he’s a one off anomaly or his will power thing can be a trait he can put into future generations of blood angels. (Because mephiston overcame the rage it’s looking like there’s 2 cases of it being at least controllable) On the table, all his powers and prayers only affect death company units, and they get to reroll charges around him, so death company characters, dreadnoughts, and death company marines (Primaris and first born) get a decently beneficial suite of buffs from this guy. Unfortunately his model is kinda gross looking, like the sanguinor- BUT his design is super cool and he has a neat relic crozius. I think the regular chaplains and the chaplains on bikes outperform him because of special warlord traits and relics but he’s not the absolute worst unit you could take if you’re main focus is death company

As great as it is that the Blood Angels became noble angelic warriors when Sanguinius arrived, the Revenant Legion was also really cool too, they're like the Carcharodons, a fleet-based, predator-like Space Marine group that prowls the void except with a vampire/ghoul theme instead of sharks.
I'd love to see a Blood Angels force that leans more into their pre-Sanguinius, Techno-Barbarian roots. Covered in furs and bones, etched with rough tribal markings. Honestly, take Space Wolf models and paint them in a Blood Angels scheme. That'd be cool.
The only Chapter that can Out-Swoon an Emperor’s Children, Out- Berserk a World Eater, and somehow be almost as friendly as a Salamander. And you know what they say, Red is da best colour.
I like the bloodangels for being a bunch of super soldiers, space vampires, demigods yet human in their flaws and an example of not letting your worst traits define you.
I hope they mention how the Revanent Legion supposedly had 1 master before they found sanguinius, but it's implied that they had a tradition of eating the bodies of their fallen superiors and taking on their identity because space marines (especially the 9th) can learn from eating
Yeah they legit kept their chapter masters memory Alive through eating his brain! Also they weren’t rabid dogs DK! They started eating people to survive!
@@theangryjeff they were also not nicknamed the revenant legion because of their violence. a revenant refers to a person coming back, supposedly from the dead. and the blood angels, before sanguinius, were the spear head of the imperium, always being sent to the most hostile battlefields first ahead of the other legions and they were expected to suffer many loses. yet when the other legions arrived and joined the battle the blood angels were nearly at full strength, but it was simply impossible they suffered this few casualties. this in combination with their bloody and brutal way of fighting resulted in them getting the revenant nickname. this was ofcourse because the blood angels did recruit from all over the galaxy, even recruiting humans with low mutations. they recruited those that the other legions wouldnt. this also hints at sanguinius' geneseed being so potent that it cured the mutations to create the perfect and beautiful sons of the angel. because all the blood angels do have a fraction of sanguinius' beauty, and while its only a fraction that is enough to make them near perfect in beauty.
There is an entire successor chapter of the blood angels that'll all conquered the black rage. When one of their marines fall to it they are trapped in a coffin for however long it takes to conquer the rage. If they break out they are killed, else wise they lay in their coffin. When conquered they emerge forever changed, helmets painted black and when not wearing their helmets they wear dark hoods with veils to conceal their facial features. They keep this process incredibly secret, even from their primogeniture chapter the Blood Angels.
I'm surprised they haven't had it forced out of them by the other blood angels; that's like the doctors at one hospital finding a cure for terminal cancer and refusing to share it
Aren’t the angels sanguine more ferocious for it? It’s also been thought that by conquering the black rage the red thirst is more of a problem for the chapter.
Blood Angels are my favourite loyalist chapter because they help me with my depression. And melee. I. Fucking. Love. Melee. Thank you for the episodes guys! Lots of fun and I appreciate all the details you guys put in!
Bricky: expressing enthusiasm for DK liking Blood Angel. Me, knowing DK liking K-sons is the reason we got the current poster: "This can only end well."
Tonite on Ridiculous Gear: Bricky becomes a Sanguinius simp and gives in to the red thirst. DK begins seeing Horus everywhere and acts unwise with all this horussy and Shy gives in to the Black Rage after all the Little Guy Jokes.
About the Ninth Legion eating their enemies pre-Sanguinius: In addition to getting resources and denying enemy theirs, the Ninth Legion does that to gain information, because they can get information of the thing they eat, including their memories, especially when they're fresh. That isn't connected to Red Thirst at all btw, it's thanks to one of the Astartes organs that every Astartes get but there are only some of them who can use it that way, such as the Blood Angels and the Space Wolves.
All of the astartes except those for whom the organ doesn't work can do that with brain tissue or analogous structures, but it seems only the blood angles and space wolves seem to gain anything besides nutrition from non neurological tissue.
The Carcharodons in the Red Tithe book are able to as well from what I remember. Though I think the gene seed was bad so the information recovered was fragmented or outright murky at best. Been awhile since I’ve read the book.
Yes; the Blood Angels also use(d) this to take on the memories of their mentors and continue their persona. It's also theorised that Dante isn't a single contiguous Astartes, but several in succession having taking the mantle and persona of Dante. In this vein, there are never "new" Blood Angels per se. The new recruits are merely vessels for the established heroes.
@@CottonPanzer this is such an interesting and unique concept and I wish this was the canon for the blood angels. The idea of an eternal legion that only gets stronger with each marine that falls because every new marine has all of the memories of the ones they suceed
@@AdventfatherGaming all astartes can under optimal conditions, although the sons of sanguinius and russ seem most adept at it, gaining the most Intel from the process.
Baal and it's moons are still there and it's actually acting as the pseudo capital of the dark half of the galaxy. The Blood Angels actually have a massive fleet there and it's centered around an angel shaped station. The planet and moons are also under the process of terra forming under Gulliman's direct order because if someone lives in hell what reason should they refuse another. They also have a line of statues dedicated to each of the Chapters that went extinct during the Devastation of Baal.
The reason the Blood Angels succumbing to the Red Thirst are locked away and the Ones succumbing to Black Rage are sent to fight, is that the Black Rage still allows a Blood Angel to tell friend from foe, seeing all enemies as Horus and all allies as either the Emperor himself or another marine still. The Red Thirst is so all consuming that the marine will fight, kill, and eat anybody they see, regardless of allegiance.
Yeah. You can talk to a Death Company marine and you’ll be fine as long as you kinda play into their delusion. Red Thirst marines just see you as food.
So could a blood angel be afflicted with the red thirst and the black rage? Like if those dudes locked away, if they aren’t put in stasis, could they fall into the black rage? Or how does that work?
@@scottyius yeah they can. Red thirst is just a thing they have to deal with and be aware of, just like people with issues/disorders irl. Its just a constant thing they have to be watchful of. The Black Rage sortable comes.out of nowhere, sort of a heightened version of Red Thirst but with a different trigger. Usually that trigger happens before battle though the lore has shifted a little bit to happen more in the heat of battle. Normally though a marine suffering Red thirst won't succumb to Black Rage if left alone and calm down.
All Sanguinary Priests have the blood of Sanguinius within themselves, that is how they can continue getting more of Sanguinius' blood, and why they look the most like Sanguinius himself, even among the Chapters of the Blood
The reason they don't just execute the Death Company that fall to the Black Rage is because they want their brothers to die honourably in battle. But Astorath the Grim does execute those who survive the battle they're unleashed upon as it's difficult to get them back under control. I'm not sure if other Death Company Chaplains do as well but it is Astorath's job.
Only Astorath has the burden of Executing his fallen brothers. All other DC that Asrorath can’t get to are taken to the Tower of Amareo for eternal imprisonment
Honestly Bricky, for being given only about an hour to cover the Blood Angels you did i good job. There is a TON of lore and characters to cover. And their individual stories are pretty massive.
That is such a fucking good book. Love when the book examines Lemartes' inner thoughts and the literal fight for a shred for sanity that he's constantly going through.
Fun thing to add to thier pre sanguinius days of wanton butchery and killing is the blood angels were always beautiful. So you had these angelic looking crazies and that dichotomy to me is hilarious
You guys need to read the Dante book, it really goes into depth for the Space Marine recruitment and the trails taken for the Blood Angels. Also the book leads directly into Deviation of Baal
Not only that. Dante himself is a spot on NobleBright that blends with 40K's GrimDark so well - he is flawd, and might be the most Human of Space Marines, but he is also one of the greatest heroes humanity have ever known.
Dante's final trial before becoming a neophyte was a surprise. I genuinely expected it to be full grimdark, especially considering how the other trials were. But it was actually a very good teaching lesson and test of character.
You should absolutely read The Devastation of Baal for the book club. Its such a good book and it delivers a bunch of information about the blood angels, their succesors and even the Tyranids. Also is has a rly awesome "let this be our final battle" szene.
A Blood Angel captain dashing across the battlefield: "COME HERE, HORUS!! YOU SONOVA DEMON!!" The Eldar Farseer he's charging at: "Wha-...the hell did that Monkai just call - WOAH HOLY SH*T!!"
Yep Lord Commander "I'm getting to Old for this Shit" Dante I think maybe they keep them in the tower so the Sanguinary Priests could research them in hopes to cure the Red Thirst. Also fun fact: it's been stated that when one really falls to the Red Thirst, they actually start changing looking like red devil vampire hulk monsters.
Fun fact, the Lamenters were created as an attempt to fix the Red Thirst and the Black Rage. This was actually successful in regards to the Red Thirst, as the Lamenters have not once had an instance of it. It looked like the Black Rage was gone in then too for several millennia before it began to happen for them, though its still less common for them than other Blood Angel successors. However the side effect of these changes somehow has been their absolute terrible luck. That and all of them being generally very sad and depressed all the time.
It was not successful sadly. In classic Lamenters luck first the Black Rage returned (On Slaughterhouse 3) then the Red Thirst returned. (During the Penitent Curusade)
@@ardagenc6842 oh yeah I forgot the red thirst finally started to appear super recently in universe too in them. That said, the number of instances has been extremely low (even compared to their less frequent black rage)
The original fluff of Mephiston was that he ended up in the Death Company, then a building fell on him, and over the 7 days of being stuck under the rubble he eventually managed to pull out by sheer strength of will, which gave him weird vampiric power, so he hulked out of the rubble.
Just here to add my vote towards Devastation of Baal being the next book club pick. It would definitely clear up some of the lore issues Bricky had today. Plus DK would get to experience terror and destruction the Nids bring. The majority of the important Blood Angels are involved and several "special guests" make surprising appearances. Like 80% of Blood Angels memes come from that book
In the Echoes of Eternity book you get some flashbacks to the revenant legion and how their old leader basically did an Alpharius where the next in line of command would what I would assume is eat the brain of the previous legion master and assume his identity
I will wait 1500 years for that Dante episode, also the Sanguinor is a manifestation of the Light Angel that was apart of Sanguinis creation and the Dark/Black Angel is the one that manifest as their gene flaws but also their luck and Psychic powers, Mephiston learned this as well as the fact he is the avatar of the Darkness Angel which is why he is so OP in the lore. Like the dude solo's a Necron Dynasty and a Thousand Son planet after the Psychic Awakening. Anyone short of the Emperor and Magnus he beats 9 out of 10 in a Psychic battle.
A fun thing about Blood Angels in-game : If you play in crusade mode (aka narrative mode : your army gains exp from battle, your characters get names etc), after every battle, you have to get a test to know if your unit are affected by the Red Thirst/Black Rage
Black Rage: A mix of schizophrenia and PTSD where the Blood Angel in question believes himself to be Sanginious himself in his final moments, fighting Horus. The only known Astartes to have "recovered" is Mephiston. I use quotations as he was psychologically and permanently changed as a person, which is why he goes by Mephiston and refers to his past self in third person. He is now god-like by Astartes standards, due to having survived the Black Rage (twice). Red Thirst: The vampiric desire to drink blood. It is staved off through arts and crafts. If a Blood Angel falls to it, they are permanently and horribly mutated into a crimson gorilla-like creature resembling a Khorne demon. This flaw has left many to speculate that they were meant to fall to Khorne instead of the World Eaters, previously known as the War Hounds.
For how much hype/ how big the Blood Angel fan base is, a blood angel expert/guest should’ve been called in for this episode. Because its clear Bricky isnt aware of A LOT of the blood angels history and no matter how much pre episode research he does theres much thats gonna be left out. Lots of big things missing and epic encounters. From how powerful Mephiston really is, Dante meeting the silent king/ 1 v 1 vs swarm lord, Dantes vision, astorath tracking down death company and his encounter vs gabriel seth, Mephiston calling out fake sanguinious, baal predator, 1st captain Raldoron. Lemartes, the list goes on…
The mephiston books are awesome, and the VA for the audio books is fantastic. It also gets into how the blood angels reacted to and integrated the primaris into their legion, which was cool to see. Because, yeah they do heretical blood ritual shit and are worried about "outsiders" finding out about it all.
34:04 I want a Blood Angels successor Chapter to be this. “Aspirants, you must carry around the casket of your sleeping brother on your shoulders for a year. And you must have a choreographed dance to EDM everywhere you go.”
I remember that back in the day reading that the Death company number was randomly determined depending on how many squads you had. That and the Smash Captain of Slamguinus. It is Overpowered against enemy characters and in general.
The Red Thirst (and a lot of flaws) are hinted to be intentional. For example the Red Thirst drives them mad at times but also keeps them young and stronger while other marines would eventually age or something like the Canis Helix being a "flaw" but creating way better warriors and the wolffen being extremely resistant to the warp. Meanwhile other "flaws" such as the devotion and charisma of Lorgar and his sons were meant to be used to spread the imperial truth but were twisted.
Wolf Master Rho posts videos quoting parts of the many books in one of his videos he read one of the Cawl lore books where he discovered the so called "flaws of the Blood Angels and Space Wolves are actually part of the Emperor's design.

when they do the episode on seth i hope they talk about him and that inquisitor who found out what they with those fallen to the black rage. not often a inquisitor admits he/she was wrong and accept they made a mistake and decide its best to retire because their judgement isnt good enough anymore. that made seth one of the most badass characters in 40k in my book, and he did it without fighting xD
Dante when he "dies" (he died and met Sangy in the warp) meets Sanguinius: Please my lord, I have done so much for the Imperium, and for you. Let me rest Sanguinius: Lol, lmao He gets resurrected by the apothecary. Yes, this actually happened.
So I discovered the Podcast about a month ago and have since watched every episode whilst studying. Thank you so much Ad Ric for getting me on the 40K train. I recently went to my local tabletop store and picked up the basics, they sold me a generic Space Marine for cheap so I can practice painting him, I love him very much. His name is John Astartes and I shall paint him as a Space Wolf, "Woof! Woof! Woof!", this is likely the beginning of my addiction to plastic crack, so whilst I thank you. My wallet will not, but I'm sure Astartes John will be thankful for the chance to live.
Really nice to hear more about the Blood Angels. They were my first army when I started back in March of this year and I only chose them cause "haha red my favorite color"
The book: Valdor Birth of the Imperium sheds alot of light on the creation of the primarchs, space marines and the end of the thunder warriors. In the book the lady making the blood angels dials up their blood aggression gene to unsafe levels, an indication the red thirst was deaigned by the emperor.
Its so much fun to show up with a full dreadnought army, and use the librarian dreadboiis as basicly my fast attack option with wings of Sanguinius, and quikening. Normal move 6, plus the 12 inch flying move if the psychic phase goes well. Its always awesome to get into melee on turn 1
It’s a shame you didn’t get to talk about the special character Tycho, who’s entire backstory came out of a battle report in white dwarf where the blood angels captain got one-shotted by an Ork Weirdboy

He walks around with the rest of his newer battle brothers and they take sips from what looks the most crystal clear most thirst quenching water available to them- but they aren’t satisfied and look disappointed when they eat super good food and drink really good wine, and the trainer who commands the neophytes explain to them the concept of the thirst and the rage and how much more filling just blood is to them over all this fancy food

As far as I know Dante was not Lord Commander before Guilliman. After resurection Guilliman reinstituted that position for himself. He leads whole Imperium and nominated Dante to become regent of Imperium Nihilus.
DK likes the Blood Angels maybe more than Thousand Sons? Well that's great to hear because GW loves them, too! There is an ocean of Blood Angels content on Black Library to dive into. I kinda get Shy's take even as a BA fan, there is so damn many traditions and blood rituals and cultures and successors going on with this one subfaction.
If I remember my blood angels lore right, the only blood angels that are put in the red thirst tower are those who still show some level of sanity, it's that way for the black rage if I remember right, cause you don't want a fully insane berserker killing everyone around him(note: the only time a blood angel is put in death company is when they fully fall to black rage)
The tower of amareo is full of people who've succumbed entirely to the red thirst but not the black rage, they're blood hungry savages who want nothing more than to feast. They're kept in the tower as both a reminder and a hope to find a cure
I honestly believe that the Sanguinor is a part of Sanguinius. His death spread his memories and feelings to his sons after all. So he could still exist as a psychic entity that would manifest when a certain number of his sons are under extreme stress, like a losing battle for example. Now a part of his power is trapped in the warp and bound to his gene-seed bloodline for eternity, manifesting at moments when enough of his progeny is under extreme duress.
from what ive read, (i could be wrong ofcourse its 40k), sanguinius is somehow split into 3 pieces. the sanguinor, a spirit that resides within mephiston and a spirit that resided within dante.
The main idea for Mephiston I believe is that while physically he seemed to have suppressed the red thirst and black rage, mentally or spiritually, who he once was, Calistarius that is, succumbed to it. But from that came a being that became Mephiston I believe. Since, from what I’ve seen, Mephiston always refers to his past life in the third person, suggesting that he is indeed another person entirely and not who he once was.
ye, and he did have a conversation about this with a librarian he was close with when he was calistarius. mephiston saying cli was no more, and this librarian looked into mephiston and said mephiston was still calistarius but more, or something like that.
15:59 I can't stop imagining Angron being placed in command of the Alpha Legion now. Angron, who's all _about_ mass frontal melee assaults, trying desperately to get his sneaky bois to even show up to a fight on an actual battlefield without looking like the enemy.
"Both a dese" "haha, bofa" "what can I say, Blood angels are stored in the Baal's" The Bofa punched me in the gut, the Baals joke upercut me in the jaw.
So according to the blood angels book Darkness in the Blood, the Sanguinor possess the lighter half of Sanguinius’ soul while Mephiston possesses the darker half. Also one of the predominant theories is that the Sanguinor is actually Azkaelon with the as previously mentioned lighter half of Sanguinius’ soul and made into a warp entity
I recently got into the tabletop I have been painting and building my blood angels and I can only say I have been waiting for this episode I'm so excited
A recruit is basically placed in sensory deprivation, while all of theirs senses are drastically increased!!! Just hoping they stay unconscious for the entire "transformation"
Okeh, this is an AckTualLy moment, but the Black Rage is directly caused by death/ damage to Sanguinius. The Red Thirst is the shame Sanguinius hid that Horus figured out and exploited later, at this time in the crusade there was no Black Rage.
The Lost within the tower are a horrific dark secret. To attempt to kill them would cost more lives than it is worth, and to sick them on their enemies is a fate worse than death. They aren’t like normal space marines anymore, they are incredibly powerful, incredibly dangerous would started shredding their own skin off by forcing their muscles to continue moving even as they die. Also low key if they DIDn’t keep the lost away don’t know how that whole devestation situation would have gone.

Sanginious not only encouraged his sons to take up the arts, but it was also crucial to retrain the legion so that they could have actual tactics and not just do the world water shtick of “ties some swords to our hands and send us screaming at the brick wall of meat”
Key to this was basically needing to piggy back off other legions so they can cooperate and learn from their siblings.

(Because mephiston overcame the rage it’s looking like there’s 2 cases of it being at least controllable)
On the table, all his powers and prayers only affect death company units, and they get to reroll charges around him, so death company characters, dreadnoughts, and death company marines (Primaris and first born) get a decently beneficial suite of buffs from this guy. Unfortunately his model is kinda gross looking, like the sanguinor- BUT his design is super cool and he has a neat relic crozius.

When one of their marines fall to it they are trapped in a coffin for however long it takes to conquer the rage. If they break out they are killed, else wise they lay in their coffin.

The original fluff of Mephiston was that he ended up in the Death Company, then a building fell on him, and over the 7 days of being stuck under the rubble he eventually managed to pull out by sheer strength of will, which gave him weird vampiric power, so he hulked out of the rubble.

A fun thing about Blood Angels in-game : If you play in crusade mode (aka narrative mode : your army gains exp from battle, your characters get names etc), after every battle, you have to get a test to know if your unit are affected by the Red Thirst/Black Rage
First, for Sanguinius! Everyone's glorious golden hawk boy.
Does he seriously still not understand the difference?

The Red Thirst (and a lot of flaws) are hinted to be intentional. For example the Red Thirst drives them mad at times but also keeps them young and stronger while other marines would eventually age or something like the Canis Helix being a "flaw" but creating way better warriors and the wolffen being extremely resistant to the warp.
Meanwhile other "flaws" such as the devotion and charisma of Lorgar and his sons were meant to be used to spread the imperial truth but were twisted.

ALPHA LEGION: "I am alpharius."
DEATH COMPANY "I AM SANGUINIUS!!!!"
ALPHA LEGION- "Ha ha ha very funny"
DEATH COMPANY *turns to face ALPHA legionnaire*"TIME TO DIE HORUS YOU WILL PAY FOR YOUR BETRAYAL!!!!"
ALPHA LEGION" OH FUCK HE'S SERIOUS. RUN! RUN! RUN!"
As far as I know Dante was not Lord Commander before Guilliman. After resurection Guilliman reinstituted that position for himself. He leads whole Imperium and nominated Dante to become regent of Imperium Nihilus.
What are you talking about, the Sanguinor mini looks amazing, strange that he's listed in Stormcast Eternals instead of Space Marines though.
Hey Sanguinius, does Horus look extra tanky today?
Yes Sanguinius, he does. Let's get him.
*proceeds to charge a tank*
DK likes the Blood Angels maybe more than Thousand Sons? Well that's great to hear because GW loves them, too! There is an ocean of Blood Angels content on Black Library to dive into. I kinda get Shy's take even as a BA fan, there is so damn many traditions and blood rituals and cultures and successors going on with this one subfaction.
17:05 I love this podcast so fucking much
If I remember my blood angels lore right, the only blood angels that are put in the red thirst tower are those who still show some level of sanity, it's that way for the black rage if I remember right, cause you don't want a fully insane berserker killing everyone around him(note: the only time a blood angel is put in death company is when they fully fall to black rage)
The tower of amareo is full of people who've succumbed entirely to the red thirst but not the black rage, they're blood hungry savages who want nothing more than to feast. They're kept in the tower as both a reminder and a hope to find a cure
"Bleh, Bleblehh! I vill drinque yur bloohd." - Some Blood Angels' Librarian or something, idk.
23:38 You could say it's just a little rage.
The irony of the perfect primarch having the most flawed sons is quite fitting for 40k
I honestly believe that the Sanguinor is a part of Sanguinius. His death spread his memories and feelings to his sons after all. So he could still exist as a psychic entity that would manifest when a certain number of his sons are under extreme stress, like a losing battle for example.
Now a part of his power is trapped in the warp and bound to his gene-seed bloodline for eternity, manifesting at moments when enough of his progeny is under extreme duress.
from what ive read, (i could be wrong ofcourse its 40k), sanguinius is somehow split into 3 pieces. the sanguinor, a spirit that resides within mephiston and a spirit that resided within dante.
oh its the blood angels time to shine? eeeexcellent
So he's still just insane

I can't stop imagining Angron being placed in command of the Alpha Legion now. Angron, who's all _about_ mass frontal melee assaults, trying desperately to get his sneaky bois to even show up to a fight on an actual battlefield without looking like the enemy.
alfa legionnaire: i am Alpharius
blood angel: pfff i am Sanguinius
"Both a dese"
"haha, bofa"
"what can I say, Blood angels are stored in the Baal's"
The Bofa punched me in the gut, the Baals joke upercut me in the jaw.
We just gonna forget our boy Lemartes? Dude has succumb to the Black Rage but is in 100% control and even leads the Death Company...
A recruit is basically placed in sensory deprivation, while all of theirs senses are drastically increased!!!
Just hoping they stay unconscious for the entire "transformation"
His mutations are ideal for a Khorne champion. "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD" and winged like a Bloodthirster.
They need to talk about blood angels again.
Never forget the Blood Angels mantra: when the Red Thirst runs, take the Black Rage home.
The worst disinformation in this is bricky saying that Mephiston is not the strongest human psyker.
34:00 - Found it
"The Primarch's blood, preserved within the bodies of the Chapter's Sanguinary Priests, is used as a necessary catalyst to activate the recently implanted gene-seed organs"
46:30 - E S T A B L I S H D O M I N A N C E
Thank God they mentioned the amazing flying box.
Blood Angels are stored in the Baals.
Astorath has to be my favorite character mostly because he is such a badass and also because his entire job is so sad.
an episode on the mary sues of the 40k universe
the chapter that puts into practice everything people hate about smurfs
yet is loved for it
God forbid your an ultramarine joining the deathwatch and your squadded up with a Black Templar, a Dark Angel, a Space Wolf and a blood angel ready to lose it
“HORUS!” - Death Company
“Who the fuck is Horus?!” - Necron Lord
