Heartfelt thanks from a Yank who has visited the Mother Country several times over the years. On one of those trips, I spent several days riding the Severn Valley Railway. Your video brought back many happy memories!
An informative and excellently presented video which was total joy to watch. I fully appreciate your credit to all full time staff and volunteers at the end. You obviously researched very well and worked very hard to achieve so much. Many thanks for your devotion.
+JOHN WALTON Thank you for taking the time to make those kind comments John. Filming at the SVR is never a chore especially when there is something different to shoot and everyone is always so friendly. Alan
I really enjoyed this video Alan, and think it's one of your best that I've seen so far - so much interesting content condensed into a watchable 23 minutes or so. Excellent! I've shared it with a few friends too. Keep up the good work! Phil
Well made video, it shows us normaly not accesable parts of the SVR, I just became member of the railway and volunteer staff last week and this video is for me part of the introduction so to say.
8:38 - Soldering with the paint still on. That should work well. But not as well as using that tiny little soldering iron to try to heat the metal up hot enough to absorb the solder.
Parsound thank you for that. In heritage lines I’m more familiar with East Lancs at Bury and the industrial at Leighton Buzzard. The Severn Valley looks great hopefully the flooding has’nt happened anywhere near the line. Is there any future extensions to their network?
@@likklej8 Happily, there has been no serious damage to the line although 5mph slacks are in force at Sterns and Alveley where the line runs close to the river. Weekend services are currently terminated at Bewdley as Falling Sands Viaduct, between there and Kidderminster, is currently undergoing major repairs. There is no possibility of extending the line at either end. However, the Stourport Branch, south of Bewdley, is a possible for a short operational spur. You can find more on www.svr.co.uk

Very nice video Alan. A change to see something out of the usual run.
Noel
+Noel Adams Thanks Noel. Editing 160 sequences down to something presentable was quite a challenge.

Excellent video.
I'm pleased that you enjoyed it. Thank you for subscribing.
Any chance of painting some Collett coaches GWR livery? Love those teak gresley coches.
All the GW coaches, Churchward, Collett and Hawksworth, are painted in appropriate Great Western livery. They all appear on various Parsound videos.
