    Could you not heat up the pipe to fit the end caps? Plus I would have made the made the opening just a tad longer to spread the water a little more over the screen. Great job though and it will quieten down once you get the media in. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

      @@progressivepondkeeping Ah; OK; thanks very much. I have hand holes all around mine which I need to cover (inspired by you last year) I thought the air circulation was a good idea but I can't get it dead level so it leaks all over the place.

    • @progressivepondkeeping
      @progressivepondkeeping  ปีที่แล้ว

      @paulspittel1924 yeah mine leaked from the hand holes at first and yes it's a shame to cover them because you lose the gassing off

    That's a fantastic idea. I wish I saw this before I made my shower 1 month ago. I'm using a pre-filter with k1 media but I believe the screen would of caught more crud and I wouldn't of spent $500 on a pre filter.. Good job

    Great build, I was thinking of a top rectangular spray bar, filter gloss, knockney foam pad and media on top tier? Rather than sieve, just as I'm only doing a 3 tier and want the filtration etc? What do you reckon?
    Thanks Gordon

    For the edges of the net on the plastic sheet cut some air tube and press it on its like a C shape and makes a snug seal around edges also what micron mesh did you use i tried 200 and 300 just clog up so quick

    • @progressivepondkeeping
      @progressivepondkeeping  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the end I used stainless nuts and bolts I'm not sure on the micron size but I have to pressure was it once a week in the warmer weather as the biofilm clogs it

    • @zachlittle1787
      @zachlittle1787 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@progressivepondkeeping will the cleaning spray they sell for pro seives do any good for the mesh ? I looked at using a replacment mesh for cetus etc they want like 230 for it mad

    • @progressivepondkeeping
      @progressivepondkeeping  ปีที่แล้ว

      @zachlittle1787 the screen they use in sieves is completely different to the mesh I used it's the same stuff they use on drum filters and I'm sure they do a drum screen cleaning fluid

    Top job there matey, seems to be working well . What size pump is that jebao ? It looks to be running it really well . Just 1 thing i would re think if i were you thow is the lotus root if you watch my video when i set the shower back up on the small pond you will see how lotus root crumbles up and its only been in 3 yrs . Cracking video thow fella 👍👍

    What a fantastic idea bud bakki shower with a sieve I cam only see 2 miner issues with what you've done so far, where the waste goes it's filling up with water quite quickly which means it will start to overflow with waste quite quickly. The other thing is when you have to wash your screen down if you use a hose you'll be killing the bacteria on the media with chlorine 🤔 may need to use a watering can with pond water for that 👍

    Cracking job mate and if you heat up the plastic pipe enough the end caps will push in and then cool to the right size. Andy

  • @MikeZak101
    @MikeZak101 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    unfortunately I've made a sieve out of the mesh before, collects perfectly but unless your about to give it a jet with the hose every 3 hours or fit some king of screen washer like a drum has it will clog up very quickly and just gets worse once the bio film starts growing on it.

    • @progressivepondkeeping
      @progressivepondkeeping  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers mate yeah I use this mesh on my fry shower and needs daily cleaning. I might fit a spray bar and solenoid valve at some point in the future 👌👍
