- The Goodwood Festival of Speed is home to weird as well as the wonderful of motorsport's past, present and future. Joining championship-winning F1 cars, Le Mans legends and more, is one of the coolest skunkworks projects of all time. Meet the third - yes third - iteration of the Ford Supervan. The original packed a Ford GT40 engine. The third uses a roaring Cosworth V6 in a Ford Group C chassis and what an epic thing it was to see at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed, with touring car ace Anthony Reid at the wheel.

I remember seeing this when it had the RB V8 hooning around Silverstone on a demo run at a Touring Car meet (iirc).. I'll never forget the sound it made as a van went past. As a kid my mind was blown :D

Hiding underneath that replica fiberglass body is a Ford C100 - the same chassis that mixed it up with Porsche and Mercedes prototypes in the ’80s - with a mid-mounted, turbocharged V6 tuned by the racing geeks at Cosworth. That’s good for 295 horsepower and a top speed of 150 mph. (via Wired) Mental!

They replaced the f1 motor with a hopped up dohc 3.0v6. Think SHO with 600hp in a van

That was an ac mod. Ive never seen the v10 inside one in real life. It would sound amazing with the Renault v10 engine tho.
Edit - i think on yt theres a clip of tim harvey being incredibly annoying talking to the owner of a transit with a jaguar xj220 engine in. Good fun.

@@MrJaylensaur transit vans are usually used to deliver milk, so imagine freshly milking a cow, bottling it in, and using THIS transit van to deliver it... Hella fresh.

Jag XJ220 V6 at the back. Still not as quick as the Royal Mail vans. They get driven with the throttle welded to the bulkhead😎😎
@@nickandrew1089 they replaced the f1 v8 dfv with a v6 version of think was due to regualions ofr soud pulltion still a great van but i sure the mk2 had the v8 in that was carred and borrwed into this van. i not fully sure but that what i think. apolgies of my bad typing in some placese

That was not the HB-V8 Transit. This was a V6 powered version

I did clown. The third van used a HB V8 Formula One engine later to be replaced by the much milder V6. The text is incorrect
The text isn't wrong you clown, it says the first version used the gt40 engine and in this version, so the one we see in this video, it's using the v6 currently... so read better next time clown 🤡

@@tonywalker2782 It is a one off van with ford decals and a 197 hp inline 5. SSV stands for Super Sport Van too.
I found supervan 4 it's the transit drift bus with a BMW V8 lump in it and its real with real people driving it not some stupid game mr pony Express unite
