I don't think the drivers, especially Mark Martin, think too fondly about the tyre war in 1994. Martin in particular was very outspoken about it, saying that he was glad to survive the 1994 season
Class act by Nascar to honor Senna like that. Nascar was fresh off losing two of it's own superstars in Alan and Davey just a year or so earlier. And thinking about Dale honoring Senna at the beginning of his victory interview... I hope someone in F1 honored Dale after his death...
Como brasileiro, fico feliz em saber que a Nascar prestou homenagem a nosso Ayrton Senna no dia de sua morte. Um dia muito triste para todos nós! "As a Brazilian, I'm glad to know that Nascar paid tribute to our Ayrton Senna on the day of his death. A very sad day for all of us!"
The last 20 laps of this race are incredible. The battle between Ernie and Dale as they battled through traffic is simply awesome. You can feel the energy in the crowd too. Awesome!!!
It was awesome, I was fortunate enough to be in the 28 pit. We had the fastest car that day but the spoiler would not stay up and Larry could not get the car tight enough. Ernie being the total bad ass that he is wrestled her all day and damn near won it. Robert and Doug had the plate motors figured out... It was an awesome time to be involved in Nascar!!
Was at this race. Got to stand at the entrance of victory lane, gave him the thumbs up, patted my hand on his hood, and he gave me the thumbs up back. Great memory. Thank you for posting.
I’m a nascar fan and I enjoy all races, new and old. The value of anything gets a boost over time. In 20 years, I can envision everyone looking back on today’s nascar and envying it
Sad to see what has became of the sport I use to couldn't wait till race day and love to sit out n the garage n listen to MRN radio while my dad n his buddies worked on there own dirt cars u could feel the excitement the rumble the intense racing coming out the radio and it felt like u was there at the track it's sad bc the sport has drifted away from its roots and what the great drivers of the sport built if only we could turn back the ⏰
Heck of a finish. Look at micheal Waltrip, Spencer, and schrader battle it out with Earnhardt. Fun ending. Rusty had a target on his back at Talladega. Always seems to crash.
I don't care that it's not HD. I love the way they used to broadcast so much better than today. Nothing cluttering up the screen. No rapid camera cuts. The wide, sweeping shots with nothing to ruin your view looks almost cinematic.
This is the link it comes the moment of the announcement by Bob Jenkins. I was referring to the race of San Marino, is there a link or some stretch done by Bob Varsha by ESPN. Can you tell?
Ok, its not a fuckin rollback, the beds slide on rails, nothing rolls. Its a flatbed! On the lighter side, if anyone 20yrs or younger saw the "tracking" being adjusted, I am quite sure they have no clue what that is.
No, Dale called it "Sucking off the side" he thought it was pulling his car, it wasnt until years later science figured out it was actually slowing the other car. Dale just had an instinct like no other.
Just a really weird, kindy crappy day it was at Dega. I wonder if they all knew BEFORE the drop o& the flag that we had lost Senna. Maybe if the FANS had known there wouldnt be as many cans pelting the cars.
I cant believe that video store commercial with that girl saying my husband don't like to movies I rent ill make one lol hmm I wonder what that means haha
Damn, I miss those cars, those rules, those Drivers, those Reporters and I miss Benny,Ned and Bob...These were the best days of Nascar Racing.
Hell yeah. Why can't it be like that. They might sell some tickets
Ned Benny and Bob.....classic!

So true the drivers, cars, and announcers were legendary.

30 And Hating Daniel Ricciardo picked his number 3 in tribute to Earnhardt. So in a way, somebody in F1 is honoring him.
Also dont forget they lost Neil Bonnet earlier in the year too
@@DixytheGoat9 and Rodney Orr. The rookie driver
They had lost Neil Bonnet at Daytona in February 94.
1:35:12 for announcement of Senna's death
2:25:55 for Dale Earnhardt's reaction
Thanks
Who knew TH-cam was the place to see real racing......

Dale kinda just had a humbling experience winning the race. Sure he was excited about winning but his thoughts were with Senna.
7 years later he would be in the same position. It’s crazy!

What this is nascar not f1
@@normal828061:35:22 & 2:07:59 ESPN Sports announced 3 title World Champion of F1 , Ayrton Senna died
I always come back for the last 5 laps. Mr. Excitement Jimmy Spencer pulled a wild move!
1:35:14 was one of the saddest moments in all of racing when they announced the death of Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna da silva. R.I.P. Ayrton Senna
The last lap with Dale blocking Michael, and Kenny then Ernie just rocketing up to second is bad ass .
Thanks for the race. Really cool with the local T.V spots. Miss those days and #3.

yeah, shame they now all have v6s and the like...sarcasm.
No Cup races today so this is my Cup race!

Great race. Thanks for showing it.
The beginning of Nascar at it's peak
Jimmy Spencer living up to his nickname with a daring move on the frontstrech with three laps to go.😯
Damn good race with an exciting battle for the win and great finish. 🏁
Talladega was a rough race track to drive back in the day. You can see the bouncing of the cars in the corner from the onboard cams.
Heck of a finish. Look at micheal Waltrip, Spencer, and schrader battle it out with Earnhardt. Fun ending. Rusty had a target on his back at Talladega. Always seems to crash.

I was at this race, awesome!
I remember this race very well. One of my favorite drivers, Mark Martin, crashed that day. Hurting his lower parts, LOL.
Am I the only one that notices the full grandstands at the races from the 80's and 90's? NASCAR can't even fill half the grandstands today.
yeah, Dale @2:26:06... it was a shame to see'm go like he did... its tough indeed.

Is it me or do the front ends on the front ends of the luminas look more rounded than the previous year's
Geoff Bodine doesnt finish a race very often. This is not one of those times either.
Is this the first Talladega race with a catch fence in the corners?? After Jimmy Horton went over the wall in 1993
Yes

Pushing the rear spoiler up for more downforce in the pits. Do that today and you are shot on site.
they used the clip of mark martins in-car, forever on those espn intros
Wow was that earnhardt side drafting in 1994?
Martin McMinds he started side drafting in the late 80’s. I think he was the one who invented it.
He knew shit about the draft that nobody else knew. Every trick in the book
