It kinda explains why there isn’t just a finite number aboard the ishimura and how the bodies just disappear then you go back into a room. It even kinda explains the new respawn mechanic that MOTIVE added to the necros when you backtrack across the ship. Man, attention to details like that is what makes this remake so awesome.
That also makes being stuck on a ship full of them all the more terrifying. Hammond's comment about there only being about 1000 crew members on board made me think would 1000 bodies really create all this, especially with the leviathan and the corruption? Some parts of the latter might be from bio mass on Aegis VII but the fact enemies can just come back to get you later no matter how many times you take them down on a cramped, lone ship is just terrifying.
With this videos, I'm starting to worry about Roanoke becoming that crazy scientist guy who starts converting other people into the zombie/creature because it evolves the body or species. Like, "they don't need food, they don't need to sleep, they are perfect."
I can't proclaim how unironically your channel has helped me remember cool facts and get through microbiology, anatomy and some of my other nurse school classes. I heard a theory that Issac was killing survivors he saw as slashers in the first chapters. I started new game +, hit a slasher center mass and it instantly dropped. Game mechanics wise the cutter was maxed out, but boy it felt odd.

Its a small detail but one of the lights is the same yellow orange as when he begins losing it in Dead Space 2. Easy to miss but it makes me think this whole time isaac was allowed to survive
At last, you have returned and made us whole again roanoke, I found your videos in 2021 and just love how detailed they were to where I played all the dead space games and loved them, even if people hated DS3 10 years later they remade the first game.

While DS3 was flawed, it still had some of the most memorable sections in the entire series, such as the underground section & the part in space that lets you explore various derelict ships, which is very Dead Space.

She never stated that her friend tried to ice her, her exact words were " And don't say your here to help, the last person who said that tried to kill me." she had to fight her friends off as necromorphs, but that's not friend killing, they were already dead.

What if the "shoot off the limbs" statement came from the fact that the infection impacted there brains but maybe gave their limbs octopus type function where they have a mind of their own. So you must cut the connection with the limbs for them to stop functioning.
That's kinda obvious when you can clearly decapitate them and they still keep coming despite their meat computer and it's associated sensor suite getting vaporized with the business end of a mining tool. It's pretty clear that the Necromophs you 'kill' aren't actually dead, the bodies are just so mangled that they can't move and the Marker just doesn't bother with puppeting them anymore.
Quick correction which I also made in your marker video, The brethren moons already know where Earth is, they know from the signal originally generated from the black marker on Earth before it was sunk in an underwater facility. The reason they aren't invading Earth at this very moment is because they were all dormant. When the moon boss in Dead Space 3 woke up, it released a signal that awakened the other moons from slumber before it died. The moons in the awakened DLC even admit they already knew the location and were fucking with both Isaac and carvers mind to keep them from warning Earth. their exact words were "You can kill the prophet, but you can't kill the god. Your chance to warn Earth has come and gone. We are coming, we are hungry, we are here."
I honestly love that they made the Brethren Moons explicitly sentient. They even talk to you. They essentially see us as how we see ants with the added factors that they need to consume beings like us to procreate and survive. They aren't cruel, just above us by leagues in the galactic pecking order.
Funnily enough, the remake describes it as a bacteria with viral behavior in a log concerning the corruption/habitat changer you pick up during gameplay.

In the original Deadspace the hallucinations were actually helping you to some degree, which changed in Deadspace 2 due to a disagreement in story direction. Hey Roanoke, in the event you still need footage to break down the anatomy of the hunter I encountered a glitch that might be beneficial to you. I haven’t tried to replicate it but on Ch 5 when the hunter first broke out of his tube, I only dismembered one leg and ran in circles until the scripting proceeded. When it did, the door opened right as the hunter decided to regen. So I bolted out of the door and ran for the security hub in medical as fast as I could. I think it was too fast because when I proceeded with the CH. and came back to the chemical lab to head to cryogenics, the original hunter that first spawned was standing still in the hallway right before the chemical lab. His AI was turned off and he would just stare at me. Made it very easy to look at him in great detail. Hope this helps.

Something I've always wondered about Necromorphs is can they swim? Cause when you think about they really are nothing but muscle and bone, fat seems nonexistent on their bodies.

Roanoke it was you that had me see the Dead Space series for the first time and I got all three game just to see every enemy for myself and it was terrifying. I never was one for horror games except zombies but in the end beaten all three original games and was wait for the 4th one to then realize they never made one, now am a bit nervous to jump back into a remake one though.

I actually really like the idea that the human brain does naturally try to cope with the marker. But like some parasites, sometimes our body just doesn't know what to do about it. Something is wrong, but it can't really point out what, and obliterate it. Makes me wonder what could have happened if the human body just naturally overcame the signal... would that be a technical backfire for the aliens?
One thing to note, i believe in Dead Space Martyr the theory that the Markers are responsible for human evolution is postulated by Altman and then recanted once he comes to understand the Marker on a deeper level.
@Roanoke Gaming its near the end of the book, but by the time he changes his mind everyone believes his initial theory! That's actually how unitology began and is one of their first core beliefs. It'll be easier getting the book as a pdf since the physical copies are marked up to like 300 smackaroos
Love these Dead Space videos. One of the best sci-fi horror experiences of all time, imho. Several games & movies get horror right, but they rarely ever get Sci-Fi horror right. To be honest, I can only think of two examples...the movie "Event Horizon" & the videogame series "Dead Space."

It's been a minute since I've delved into dead space law. Still, I remember it being mentioned somewhere, maybe in dead space 2, that part of the reason people go crazy is because the marker is trying to upload the schematics on how to make more markers into their brain and most people don't have the organic hard drive space for that.

I think it was Hammond that questioned whether cutting off the limbs actually killed them or just incapacitated them. It's fair to say that, at least at first, the miners were attacking Sam. It's possible that it wasn't until he was near the elevator that he actually lost it. As P-Sec was coming down the elevator, they would have seen him killing people there and just concluded that he was the guy had snapped and murdered everyone. They were unable to do any real investigation, what with there being a mass self offing and higher ups much more interested in the security of the Marker rather than the colonists.
Doctor Roanoke: now starting with the feet, the famous line that made his channel infamous. Me: yes indeed it did, my very first video that I watched from Roanoke gaming was a Dead space analysis video and indeed we have come full circle.😂 Also yes we still have that dog in us to tell the brethren Moons to go &#$@ themselves! 😈
Sad Phineas Gage is always brought up in these types of videos. His family and people who knew him said the tales of his instability after getting a rod through his head were mostly false. I would also think getting a rod through anyones head would make them a little less stable in general just from pain.
Screw the YT moderation, really all they have to do is give an age rated system like everything else and it would be fine. But no great videos like this gets destroyed because some parent let their "sweet little angel" alone on the internet. Great remake of a classic video. Hope more come out soon.
Wow I don't know why I never thought of the little arms as being a way for the slasher to keep itself upright and possibly move itself along when its legs are taken out, but that makes a lot of sense. The grasping onto prey function always seemed so obvious that I never thought about any other purpose lol
When he mentions the whole quadrapedal stance for the slashers, it reminds me of how some slashers in dead space 2 and 3 ACTUALLY choose to run at you on all fours; The dead space 3 twitchers especially.

Roanoke it was you that had me see the Dead Space series for the first time and I got all three game just to see every enemy for myself and it was terrifying. I never was one for horror games except zombies but in the end beaten all three original games and was wait for the 4th one to then realize they never made one, now am a bit nervous to jump back into a remake one though.

I actually really like the idea that the human brain does naturally try to cope with the marker. But like some parasites, sometimes our body just doesn't know what to do about it. Something is wrong, but it can't really point out what, and obliterate it.
Makes me wonder what could have happened if the human body just naturally overcame the signal... would that be a technical backfire for the aliens?

One thing to note, i believe in Dead Space Martyr the theory that the Markers are responsible for human evolution is postulated by Altman and then recanted once he comes to understand the Marker on a deeper level.
Interesting, I had no run across that yet, Ill need to look into that!
@Roanoke Gaming its near the end of the book, but by the time he changes his mind everyone believes his initial theory! That's actually how unitology began and is one of their first core beliefs. It'll be easier getting the book as a pdf since the physical copies are marked up to like 300 smackaroos
Love these Dead Space videos. One of the best sci-fi horror experiences of all time, imho. Several games & movies get horror right, but they rarely ever get Sci-Fi horror right. To be honest, I can only think of two examples...the movie "Event Horizon" & the videogame series "Dead Space."

It's been a minute since I've delved into dead space law. Still, I remember it being mentioned somewhere, maybe in dead space 2, that part of the reason people go crazy is because the marker is trying to upload the schematics on how to make more markers into their brain and most people don't have the organic hard drive space for that.

I think it was Hammond that questioned whether cutting off the limbs actually killed them or just incapacitated them.
It's fair to say that, at least at first, the miners were attacking Sam. It's possible that it wasn't until he was near the elevator that he actually lost it. As P-Sec was coming down the elevator, they would have seen him killing people there and just concluded that he was the guy had snapped and murdered everyone. They were unable to do any real investigation, what with there being a mass self offing and higher ups much more interested in the security of the Marker rather than the colonists.

Sad Phineas Gage is always brought up in these types of videos. His family and people who knew him said the tales of his instability after getting a rod through his head were mostly false. I would also think getting a rod through anyones head would make them a little less stable in general just from pain.

Screw the YT moderation, really all they have to do is give an age rated system like everything else and it would be fine. But no great videos like this gets destroyed because some parent let their "sweet little angel" alone on the internet. Great remake of a classic video. Hope more come out soon.

Wow I don't know why I never thought of the little arms as being a way for the slasher to keep itself upright and possibly move itself along when its legs are taken out, but that makes a lot of sense. The grasping onto prey function always seemed so obvious that I never thought about any other purpose lol
When he mentions the whole quadrapedal stance for the slashers, it reminds me of how some slashers in dead space 2 and 3 ACTUALLY choose to run at you on all fours; The dead space 3 twitchers especially.
