I replied on your Reddit post. We Maidiacs would love more Band Maid reactions! Need to see them more recent and live 🔥🔥🔥 Try - Domination - official live video You won’t be disappointed They have dozens of great songs, best rock band on the planet 🌏
This is their first MV 7 years ago. They were great back then. They are waaaay better now. Try their LIVE stuff: Domination-Live, Onset-Live, Play-Live, Freedom-Live. They are just an AWESOME and FUN band. Peace.
This song is the make-it-or-break-it video for Band Maid. In fact at this point Miku couldn't even play the guitar since she thought she was only going to be a vocalist in the band. However this song did so well they decided that Band-Maid was going to be a successful project and this gave them the exposure and financial wherewithal to get started.
And kudos to Miku for understanding that her voice was not going to carry the group. I think most singers who front their own group would have to much ego to step aside.
Your information isn't entirely accurate (or at least, incomplete to the point of creating an erroneous history of the band). While Miku didn't know how (or plan) to play the guitar when she founded the band, this changed as soon as they brought in Saiki, the current lead vocalist. Miku (founder/backing and occasional lead vocals/rythm guitar) recruited Kanami (lead guitar) who then recruited Akane (drummer) who in turn recruited MISA (bass guitar), with the band officially forming in July 2013. They then had one performance in that some month as a quartet, after which Miku realized she didn't have a powerful enough voice for the type of music she wanted to create, so she then led the band to find another lead singer. Through an audition process, the band then selected Saiki as the new lead vocalist (who later has joked that she was scammed into joining, as she was only told they would be wearing "pretty costumes" and didn't know about the maid outfits until right before the first live performance after she joined). It was at this time that Miku asked Kanami to teach her how to play a guitar. The band was regularly performing during 2013 and 2014. They released their debut album dropped in January 2014, with an EP following in August 2014. By early 2015, the band was on the verge of being dropped by the record label and breaking up, when the music video they had created for the song "Thrill" (in what was purportedly a last ditch effort by their producer to save the band using the last of the funds they had available for their use) gained a massive watched count on TH-cam in April 2015 from a promotion by english internet radio station JROCK. This saved the band, and the rest is history. I'm not exactly sure when Miku started performing and/or recording while playing rythm guitar, but the earliest videos I have personally seen are live performances in 2016, and she was able to perform well, along with some relatively complex mini riffs (I believe the earliest performance I watched was for the song "Take Me Higher", zlthough I may be misremembering).
@@waynetubr Absolutely! Whole her dream was to be the lead singer of a band, she is very realistic and motivated, and did everything in her power to make the band succeed, then worry about her personal performance later!
MISA MISA MISA! Nostalgia Nostalgia Nostalgia! 2014 Sai-chan still hasn't learned how to use her hands (holding on to the mike stand like it is a life preserver) MISA wearing shoes and using a 4 string Miku holding the Guitar like its a weapon (or neck ornament) not an instrument Mincho before she changed to PRS Guitars but still Rocking out and of course A-chan still with the Little Hat and strangely not smiling
ah, their first MV, such a great introduction! but, you are gonna LOVVVVVVE their later shit; they have just got better and better and better over the years
@@BreakdownMediaYT if you want to stick with MV format, Real Existence is an absolute banger, or you can jump ahead to their much more recent stuff, like Warning, which comes in both a live version and an MV ... take your pick!
Gamers Inked greetings from Montreal....if you're following the MV than I can recommend YOLO, Spirit, Alone, Domination....of course their live material is even better as the ladies like to improvise a bit.....enjoy the music.....thanks...Peace and Respect from 🇨🇦
@@estherbrowne2017 yeah, not wrong, not gonna argue that ... just trying to gauge this couple's process: early-to-new or start-with-newest-hotness ROFL
Band-Maid are a rock band rather than a metal band, although some of their stuff does probably get into metal fringes. This was was their first ever video, and took them in a new direction musically, as their sound was a bit softer before. Regading Saiki's vocals, I don't think she sounds American, but she doesn't sing in the higher register that's normally common in female Japanese singers. You were dead right about their look not being what's practically a cliche in rock these days in the west, where every band feels they have to look 'badass' to be taken seriously. I think it goes further than that though, as they (and other Japanese bands) have also retained a joy in the music they make, that seems to have been lost in the west, in that same 'aren't we such a badass band!" quest most go for. There's a really big Japanese scene out there to discover. Enjoy.
Gamers Inked welcome to Band-Maid , this was there first MV from 2014 , they were formed in 2013 by Miku Kobato (aka) small Pigeon , has Red Rose in hair ( band founder worked at Japanese maid café ) plays Rhythm guitar 2nd vocals n writes the lyrics , Kanami Tono , Lead guitar / Shredder , writes n arranges the music , Akane Hirose (aka) gorilla on Drums , MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! (aka) the Barefoot Bass Assassin on Bass , Saiki Atsumi (aka) Ice Queen , has Blue Rose in hair , Lead Vocals , fan base are the Maidiac`s , Live songs from there last concert with an audience , Domination , Freedom , Play , MV`s Dice , Blooming , Daydreaming , Rinne , just to name a few , they have over 100 songs .
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single BAND-MAID song. Your first step was also their first step; this is their first big hit. They managed to get 2 million views in 2 weeks. They actually thought they got hacked. Try a more recent video next like 'Warning' or 'Manners'. Then go with something live, because they absolutely excel at performing live. I recommend 'Domination' or 'Real Existence', or maybe change it up with an instrumental like 'Onset'. As far as Saiki's voice goes, she sings in a bit lower than most female Japanese singers. That might have thrown you off if you were expecting her to sound more like Su-Metal from BabyMetal. She also has excellent enunciation. I don't speak Japanese, but I can clearly hear what she is saying while singing.
Best band in the world, you can pick anything from their official channel, but I think 'Warning' official video would give you a little idea where they have come to now. Right Gary ?
Cool you did a reaction to Band-Maid finally, was watching some of your videos from other japanese bands, but NOTHING got me THAT addicted. Band-Maid is just worldclass! Every member is over the top talented with different traits and roots, but still with the same goal and love towards each other and the fans. They are making music since 8 years, have over 100 songs and that was their first big song and MV. You should watch a live video like "Real Existence", "Domination" to get a real feeling for them. They´ve grown and evolved A LOT since this video. Now that you are reacted to my favorite band i subscribe to your channel :) Nice reaction and have fun by discovering these awesome ladies and their community! Greetings from Germany

They are hard rock band and are now considered by fans to be one of the best hard rock bands in the world. They usually perform 23 songs and 2 hours live. That's why the band was named Band-Maid. "Thrill" was their first music video in 2014, played 2 million times in two weeks and saved them from breaking up. At that time they were just around 19-22 years old. And then they have been doing LIVE overseas and increasing their fans. Welcome to the Pigeon Hole. Great react. As said before I Band Maid is the best rock band in the world . They do not have any bad songs. Long Live the PO
BAND MAID is celebrating its 8th year of formation. BAND was formed by a girl who came to Tokyo from a rural area of Japan to become a singer when she was about 19 years old. Five unique and talented girls gathered. The members have not changed, and they are continuing their efforts to improve their playing ability. They are constantly writing new songs and cool songs. Three new songs will be released at the end of October. BAND MAID is a hard rock band, but it's a very diverse band. Listen to different types of songs. 1 Thrill : The first music video that saved them from dissolution. Classic rock 2014 2 Bubble : A tribute to the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, funky rock 3 Different : First anime opening song, new sense of high-speed rock. Anime is Log Horizon 3rd season. 4 Daydreaming : Beautiful power ballad. Kobato's backing vocals and Kanami's guitar solo are wonderful. 5 Dice : Rhythmic hard rock singing women's independence 6 about us : A gift for fans who cannot meet in a pandemic. Beautiful ballad. 7 Freedom : A power rock that walks around the stage and conveys a smile. The transition from drum solo to lead guitar is the best. 8 Manners : Declaration to create new hard rock while inheriting classic rock. Cool hard rock. Rock'n'Roll never die. 9 alone : The song they wrote, composed and released for the first time. Medium speed Hard Rock 2016 10 Secret My Lips and Secret Maiko Lips : Funky Hard Rock. A gift for fans of April Fool's Day . 11 Blooming : Vocals and chorus are impressive, and various types of music are fused. Added ★ Peace & Love : Founder Miku Kobato's solo project. Pigeon saves the world. Funky pop rock.
Domination, Freedom, real existence, Moratorium, take me higher, Turn me on... Just choose any thing from them... They are all good.. Best band on the planet. Best wishes from across the channel..
I would say do a Live performance. I would suggest Domination (Live) or , if you want an instrumental (onset Live), if your a fan of drums, do Freedom (Live). For MV's, I would say Blooming and Daydreaming. I did not list anything off their new album as I feel its better to do some "middle" stuff before hitting current stuff from this year. But, again, a live official video is my biggest suggestion.

Yeah, Band-Maid brought back old school rock. For your next video, try any of their official live videos, perhaps starting with their grand slam of "Domination", "Play", "Onset", and "Freedom".
Thanks you for a Band Maid reaction! Thrill is a great view of what they were like 6 years ago. I'd love to hear what you think of their growth over time as wow, have they matured as artists and as a band. For thrill, they were not writing their own music and when Kanami started writing their music and Miku the lyrics, they took off and started to really started to show what they could do. The contrast between their look and their sound is what they call "The Gap"; Miku (the band's founder) wanted to highlight the difference between the Maid Cafe look and a hard rock sound. While the outfits have changed a bit over the years, The Gap still remains.
Yeah, Band-Maid brings the rock while Lovebites brings the metal. It's hard to recommend one song since Band-Maid dabbles in many sub-genres. "Thrill" is an old one by them - but written for them. Their own stuff is much better and more progressive. They shine best live, and "Domination (live)" is one of the best examples. You want hard-ass punk, listen to "Warning". Prog punk? Put on "Different". 80's glam metal? "Afterlife". Classic '80s metal? "Rinne". Pop punk? "Alone". Everything plus the kitchen sink? "Blooming". Motorhead-style prog rock? "No God". Power ballad with a capital P? "Daydreaming". I can go on. But if I'm gonna recommend one song (other than live Domination) it would be the live video for "Manners/Black Hole". Featuring two songs in one, it nicely showcases the two extremes of Band-Maid. (But really you can't go wrong with any of their songs.) And keep up your Japanese musical journey with the likes of Nemophila, Hanabie and Gacharic Spin.
Do they dabble in many genres...or are they their own genre? Lots of reaction videos say Band Maid reminds them (insert band or genre here). I say they have their own style and people hear what they want to hear.
@@kc62301 You're right. There is a Band-Maid genre that's both unique and familiar. I think it's sometimes easier to explain to reactors that the Band-Maid sound isn't restricted by saying you'll hear all different kinds of genres.
@@ronniebrucehalford8396 Exactly! They do what they like, and make it work...sometimes in ways that seem completely disharmonious at first listen (such as "Hibana"; at first listen, it sounds like a screeching mess of a song, but the more you listen the more you realize how well it all works together and how brilliant of a composition it is)!
Welcome to the world of Band Maid. These Ladies are 5 of the most Talented Women you'll ever find and listen too. Band Maid has so many Phenomenal Songs to their credit. Band Maid Live is second to none. Just pick a song and play. You'll be Blown Away by Band Maids Music.
Thanks for reacting to my favourite band Band Maid ! I would suggest you react to 'Freedom' or' Domination' the official lives next. Most of all I hope your Band Maid journey is as enjoyable as mine has been. Enjoy !!
As some others mentioned, Miku (founder, band leader, second vocalist, rhythm guitar) didn't really know how to play guitar at this time. She has come a long way on guitar, though, to the point that guitar manufacturer Zemaitis has developed her own signature model. According to the lead guitarist Kanami (who has been teaching her), she is almost ready to start taking some lead solos! To see how far she has come as a guitarist, check out the live double-video "Manners/Black Hole," especially on the Black Hole segment! th-cam.com/video/iaf94nNSRGE/w-d-xo.html
Now listen to the live videos. Band-Maid has what I never heard from other bands like this...they have a Lead Bass. Misa is an insane bass player and has a big influence on the songs and the sound. Not to say, that all members are amazing musicians, writer and composers.
If you're going to continue down this road. Please don't neglect so much of their earlier music videos and live performances from a few yrs back. To many reactors jump right into the newer stuff after viewing maybe one older video. At least mix it up somewhat then. It'll give you a good mix of what they're capable of. Keep up the good work ! 😃
Chuck, I very much agree with you, I think it's important to take their progression into account. 👌 Things like Miku merely holding her guitar in this video because at this point she couldn't play, to becoming a pretty bad-ass rhythm guitarist shines a light on how they have taken big steps forward as a band.
This is just the beginning. They are so much more than this song. Through the years they have grown. Today they are on top of their game and one of the best rock bands out there. No verse of any song is ever the same instrumentally since Thrill. As far as Japanese bands they are my #1. They will always keep you guessing what is next.
From here I'd go with Real Existence Live version (MV also good, but the live one is just electric, and this is a band that is better live. No, really.). Then I'd go to maybe Onset (live), Blooming MV and Dice. And then... you still haven't seen anything because their latest stuff is insane (Domination Live and Choose Me Live from their World Domination Tour, and then their latest album - I mean, it's ridiculous. I like No God, either the Manners MV or Manners/Black Hole live combo, and the Warning MV. They are a band that has so many great songs you're not really going to believe it. Thrill is a great song, but doesn't even begin to showcase the skills of songwriting that they have (this was before they wrote their own material).
This is the controlled version of BM. Now that they have control of their creative vision and sound they are the best rock band out right now. In the world.
Now go see the first recommended Band-Maid live video - Domination live. It's a good introduction to how good they really are, and then it only gets better from there.
Guys, watch them played this song live 2021 and with other songs No God, Warning, After Life, Manners, and also check another all Japanese female Heavy Metal Band LOVEBITES - latest live video songs Set The World On Fire, Dont Bite The Dust, MV Glory To The World and Winds Of Transylvania. NEMOPHILA - songs Dissension, Raitei(Thunder), Blooming HANABIE - song We Love Sweets (Japanese Jinjer)
Defo check out the suggestions for videos pre-summer 2020...Live performances are stonking and all the studio stuff is great. The progression then to the post lockdown summer new album etc...just marvellous. Enjoy the ride Inksters :-)
Great starting point... These ladies get exponentially better from here. Maybe try Domination live next, as these ladies are absolutely phenomenonal live. Thank you for the reaction. 🔥🖤
As soon as I saw you guys smile, I knew they had you. Most of their music will do that to you, even if it's just watching them smile. Check out "Freedom." Akane (the drummer) does a very simple but excellent solo, and the way the band lifts her out of it at the end...is one of the best bridges I've ever heard. For such a great song, you can tell they are having a real ball playing it.
Wow !! nothing like starting at the beginning. Worth taking the journey to their later music. Love you to listen to them playing Manners and Black Hole. Or more Lovebites performing Set The World On Fire. Of course you will never hear a better vocalist than Floor of Nightwish
Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-maid. One of the best rock bands in the world! You should check out their live performance! Like Domination, Freedom or no god. They just had a cameo in the Netflix movie Kate. You can hear two songs by them and one song you can see them playing in the dance club Have you ever react to the Japanese band name Scandal? I can give you some suggestions and links for Scandal songs.
Welcome aboard, Gamers. You are embarking on (along with many others - 120 million YT views!) an awesome hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (over 100 songs with their latest album, “Unseen World”), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off the rails spectacular. Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: th-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/w-d-xo.html Their later songs from albums Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Warning, No God, H-G-K, Black Hole, Different, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Glory, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts! And many are represented with nearly 40 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid members are: Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 27 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 29 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 30 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 30 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 28 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note.. uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. There he is! The rock and roll Leo Tolstoy! LOL I love the depth of your information, Tom, but I can't help but joke about it. 😆 It really is helpful to newcomers to Band-Maid. 👍👍👍

I’m surprised you guys haven’t done another Band-Maid reaction in so long. They have do many great songs and videos. You’ll love “Choose Me” if you haven’t done it. Or “Wonderland”, “Daydreaming”, “Dice”…the list is endless…🤷🏻♂️✌🏼😎
Thrill is the song that saved Band-Maid from breaking up. Their management group was unhappy with their progress and were ready to let them go. But this video got so many hits and views on TH-cam, somewhere in the area of a half million in a very short period of time, that they got a reprieve and began recording more of their own songs, and the rest is history. One thing is that Miku Kobato, the band's founder, is also the lyricist, and she decided right from the start that she would include English lyrics in very song so as to attract more fans worldwide. And she was 1000% right.
This is essentially a ballad for Band Maid. Believe me these girls can kill it. When they get to let loose it is all fair game. Check out "Domination"(live) and the "Freedom"(live). The next are "Manners" and "Black Hole" (2 live together vids from covid days). After that you will know they are capable of anything.
Heh heh. Thrill is your intro to Band Maid. 😆can’t wait to see your reaction to their latest stuff like Black Hole, or their song I Still Seek Revenge.
great reaction guys, just pick anything from their youtube page, they have NO bad songs, and they are all different, just the best rock band out there right now !!!
You have to hear more of there music. Freedom live and Onset live will show how cohesive they are. Jimmy Page was at the Freedom concert and went back stage to meet drummer ect. They have alot of music to hear. Give Freedom a listen drum solo is awesome.
Welcome to the pigeon-hole! I'm glad that you have lent the ladies and their music your ear. :) And this song is literally only the beginning. For you, but also for the ladies themselves. Because with this, their quest to take over the world, has only really taken off. Believe me, you haven't even scratched the surface of what these ladies have to offer, and they have some surprises up their sleeves. :) In principle, I can recommend every song by them, because even if I didn't believe it myself at first, their catalog simply doesn't contain any bad songs. It's true! But since all Maidiacs are sure about one thing, that the ladies are best live on stage, I just name the song the ladies released after this one here, 'Real Existence' or their showcase performance 'Domination'. Both in their live versions, of course. :) Oh, and before I forget: I absolutely agree that Saiki has a strong western touch with her vocals. A big part of that might be her relatively deep voice, compared to what you often hear from Japanese singers. At first I was distracted by the music around her and didn't pay much attention to her, but today I think her voice is the fifth indispensable instrument of this band. She is amazing, and like every single one of these ladies, she is an equally strong pillar in the construct of this band. Best greetings from the German Maidiacs division. 🙏🏻 _____________________ 【 Our rock never dies ever. Forever! 】- from BAND-MAID 'Manners' 🕊
Regarding Saiki's accent, just wait to hear her sing English lines in other songs, and you will discover she has a thick Japanese accent. I cannot understand her English without subtitles.
Great reaction! I heartily recommend Domination live from World Domination tour Feb 2020. This video features great vocals, superb instrumentals and the sheer joy they have while performing in front of a live audience. They are essentially a hard rock band. However, they combine this with grunge, punk, pop and metal to create a new genre. The new genre is simply called Bandmaid. Keep em comin guys. PS You're right, she doesn't sound like your typical female Japanese singer. Her voice is powerful and her range is impressive
This is their first video. They are so much better now and have a lot of songs. Start with Dice then just do live stuff because that's all maidiacs really look at because they are so good we don't really need studio clips. Don't forget NEMOPHILA who are metal.
You gotta see this band live and they will hook you for life.....start with Domination live !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When it comes to band-maid, you'll have to listen to at least 10-20 songs before you realize that they do have their "sound" rather than any specific style or genre. This song came out when they're on the verge of breaking up. Up to this point they were singing more pop-punk, pop-rock songs written for them. "real existence" probably is a good one to react to next. Another song written for them, but very close to their sound because the members were heavily involved in arranging the song. They started playing their own songs shortly after that, so their next album was a huge reap from this song technically, musically, composition level. They evolved album after album since then, so your appreciation of their music will go up as you go further. I wish I could request all my favorites but I don't want to wear you out so...check don't you tell me, puzzle, secret my lips, moratorium after the next one maybe.
I suggest any of there over 100+ songs. Live videos are best to get the full effect of Band-Maid. Welcome to the pigeon hole. My favorite Band-Maid song is Puzzle, but from there YT channel I would suggest Domination, Play, Onset, No God, Manners and Black Hole again live versions.
This is their very first Music Video from years ago, and they just keep getting better and better. They consider themselves a Hard Rock band, but they really have no genre. They're either genreless or a genre unto themselves, with many influences like Rock. Power Pop, Punk, Funk Metal and Jazz they shape-shift from song to song, sometimes within the same song. And don't forget their April Fool's Day persona, BAND-MAIKO where they blend in traditional Japanese instruments. But their LIVE videos are where they really shine. Steer clear of the Fan-Cam garbage. Check out the Official LIVE Videos. They never disappoint. And, if you're not into one song, you may like the next one. They have something for everyone.
Please keep notice of requests for a band called, One OK Rock. Should get lots of requests for a song called , "We Are" Live 18 Festival. Rock ballad with max audience participation. Good reaction to have your doggy there to hug.
To really appreciate this band you need to watch their live videos whether it's on their official channel or fan posted videos. I would suggest watching the live Manners/Black Hole video they released a couple of months ago it's a good example of them flexing their rock/metal muscles
That was a very early M/V for Thrill, check out the recent live version on their YT channel - th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID - to get some idea of their progress to date.
Welcome to the world of Band Maid! You will become a MAIDIAC! You will learn soon enough that these ladies ROCK! They sound like an American band partly because..... KANAMI TONO - LEAD GUITAR - Huge fan of Carlos Santana - She chose a PRS guitar because of that. Miku Kobato - RHYTHM GUITAR Misa - BASS GUITAR - Please not the Jimi Hendrix sticker on her Bass. Akane Hirose - DRUMS - Huge fan of Smashing Pumpkins and Deep Purple. Saiki - VOCALS
Sometime around the 70s, some Japanese singers started singing in the "Western vocal styles". May be that's what you are referring to. I am not musician, can't explain well but that something I personally noticed.
Band Maid literally does not have a bad song. You 100% need to add them in your rotation and keep doing Baby Metal and Lovebites. You're next Japanese band assignment? Maximum The Hormone. I guess you could consider them the "Japanese" System Of A Down, but that's not a fair comparison...to S.O.A.D. If you want to know what type of music they play, the best answer is...yes. They will play multiple genres of music in the same song! They don't give AF! Check out A.L.I.E.N. that will give you a good idea of what they're like. Or maybe What's Up People? It's a song they did for an Anime called Deathnote. If you are feeling daring I got a suggestion that is WAY out there. The group is called Melt Banana. They are an experimental electro post-modern punk group from Japan. They use a lot of guitar looping and will speed them up to get different textures. If you're interested try out Infection Defective, it will give you an idea of what they're like.
A very Kick-Ass tune, but with regards to appearance and musicianship this is from 2014, things have certainly changed with the band. There is a newer up-to-date LIVE stream of this tune. Stay with them, they never disappoint. "Blooming" is my suggestion for the next part of your journey.
Non-stop 🔥 from start to finish. Check out "After Life" music video. And because it's Halloween month check out "Hard Rock Hallelujah" by Lordi and "Oogie Boogie Song" by Voiceplay.
your breakdown to say rock and not metal is awesome. of as everyone said is their first video is still great. but i cant add anything to what other have said. enjoy the rest
This song rocks.. love the guitar solo.. fits so well.. fun fact.. the guitar player has a crush on the singer.. Its a running band joke.. sort of. when they ask her she just laughs and blushes.
Great reaction, thumbs up! This video is eight years old now, they've progressed a lot. Their live videos are arguably better than their studio versions. From their YT channel, I'd check out: Domination live--kinda of quintessential Band Maid, a good starting point, everyone gets a short solo, Misa switching between picking and slapping. Real Existence live - harder style, again signature catchy melody Play live - bit harder, nice instrumental lead-in, in which Misa and her bass are on fire Onset live -- instrumental, really interesting to see how they arrange it Different MV -- sounds like an anime OP! :)
These girls are the real deal. You check out their live stuff from their World Domination tour. The video for Blooming, or Manners. Killer ballads About Us or Daydreaming. These beauties rip.
Hell yeah! Now that you have started with Japanese bands, you should definitely check Sokoninaru (Tenohira De Odoru) and Maximum the Hormone (Yoshu fukushu) 🙌🏻👌🏻
So now you're back with some more Japanese reactions again... Dexcore soon (or Paledusk but probably less palatable for you)? 😎 Also gotta love some Band-Maid!
This is just a taste of Band Maid. Now react to Freedom, the official live video, then, Domination from the same concert, then Play, the official live video. Next, be amazed by Manners and Black Hole both in the same recent video release. Next, you'll want to see their softer side and react to About Us. I'm telling you, their live stuff us best, and Thrill was just a hint at what was to come.
Now that you've been at the beginning, you need to jump 7 years later and see how they evolved : th-cam.com/video/iaf94nNSRGE/w-d-xo.html (two song clip, semi-live as there was no public - thanks Corona- both songs being from their latest album and at opposite ends of their spectrum)
Hey fellow Brits...maybe check their progress, some years along, with the MV 'Dice' and a bad ass live performance like 'Domination'. This band are mega song writers and variable in their style...my favourite since Queen 🤟🤟
as countless other have already said this is one of their first MV's for a mix of were they are at now id recomend manners/blackhole live. honeslty you will see so much hype about Band-Maid... its all true im not shitting you if your curious if its true goto their youtube page and click any video and im confident you will love it...defiantly a better sound live than in mv's.... i would say dont pick domination MV just because the sound is really low in it for some reason and that is the only reason id not recomend it but the live well that is something else altogether ;P
check out all of there music.... i thought they were a gimmick at first but they are not... some of the best musicians out there right now. I would recommend manners

I replied on your Reddit post. We Maidiacs would love more Band Maid reactions!
Need to see them more recent and live 🔥🔥🔥
Try
- Domination - official live video
You won’t be disappointed
They have dozens of great songs, best rock band on the planet 🌏
This is their first MV 7 years ago. They were great back then. They are waaaay better now. Try their LIVE stuff: Domination-Live, Onset-Live, Play-Live, Freedom-Live. They are just an AWESOME and FUN band. Peace.
Her name is Tono, Kanami Tono. And she eats guitar solos for breakfast. Band Maid since 2013, making rock and roll great again !
Miku is my favorite example of 'fake it til you make it' from not being able to play a guitar to having her own signature guitar.
@@waynetubr
Absolutely! Whole her dream was to be the lead singer of a band, she is very realistic and motivated, and did everything in her power to make the band succeed, then worry about her personal performance later!
MISA MISA MISA!
Nostalgia Nostalgia Nostalgia! 2014
Sai-chan still hasn't learned how to use her hands (holding on to the mike stand like it is a life preserver)
MISA wearing shoes and using a 4 string
Miku holding the Guitar like its a weapon (or neck ornament) not an instrument
Mincho before she changed to PRS Guitars but still Rocking out
and of course
A-chan still with the Little Hat and strangely not smiling
ah, their first MV, such a great introduction!
but, you are gonna LOVVVVVVE their later shit; they have just got better and better and better over the years
Oooo what do you recommend?
@@BreakdownMediaYT if you want to stick with MV format, Real Existence is an absolute banger, or you can jump ahead to their much more recent stuff, like Warning, which comes in both a live version and an MV ... take your pick!
Gamers Inked greetings from Montreal....if you're following the MV than I can recommend YOLO, Spirit, Alone, Domination....of course their live material is even better as the ladies like to improvise a bit.....enjoy the music.....thanks...Peace and Respect from 🇨🇦
@@jasonfisher8529 real Existence live more banger😬

Greatest rock band on the planet. After 4 or 5 songs you won't even notice the outfits anymore...they are that good. Po!
Awww, yes their break through MV from long ago. still a great song. Hope to see more Band-Maid in the future on your channel. cheers Martin
Their first MV from nearly 8 years ago, got me obsessed when I discovered them 5 years ago. Trust me it only gets even better from here.
If it's more Band Maid, I'll be back. Love them.
FROM JAPAN Introducing BAND MAID ■ They have over 100 fascinating songs. ■
BAND MAID is a 5-member girls rock band. They are hard rock band and are now considered by fans to be one of the best hard rock bands in the world. They usually perform 23 songs and 2 hours live. They were formed in Japan in 2013 by side guitarist Miku Kobato. Kobato had experience working at a maid cafe in Akihabara Tokyo and had the idea of playing cool songs with a maid costume. That's why the band was named Band-Maid. "Thrill" was their first music video in 2014, played 2 million times in two weeks and saved them from breaking up. At that time they were just around 19-22 years old. And then they have been doing LIVE overseas and increasing their fans. Now they are writing, composing and arranging all the songs. 40 songs have been released on their official TH-cam, all of which are killer songs.
★ They released TV Size Ver. Of the opening song "Sense" of the anime "Platinum End" which will start in October 7.
★ They appeared in the Netflix original movie "KATE" as BAND MAID. September 10, 2021.

BAND MEMBER They are unique, serious, shy and cute women. They are as close as sisters and support each other.
Miku Kobato : Side guitar, back vocal, lyricist, band founder, Public relations officer, Kobato is a small pigeon!
She was the lead singer when the band was founded,
but since Saiki became the lead singer, she started playing the side guitar for the first time.
Saiki Atsumi : Lead vocal, the youngest, member call her a teacher, she make various decisions. good at cooking
Kanami Tono : Lead guitar, composer (prolific genius), good at piano. hobby is reading. good at making sweets.
Akane Hirose : Drummer, good at funny faces, she is a big eater. she loves anime. she has a lot of friends.
Misa : Bassist, stage drinks are liquor, play with bare feet. the most shy and reticent. good at cooking
There is a good interview to find out about their personality. Lead singer Saiki has been tricked into joining the band. She says she wouldn't have participated if she hadn't been fooled. The interview has the first half and the second half.

Welcome to the Pigeon Hole. Great react. As said before I Band Maid is the best rock band in the world . They do not have any bad songs. Long Live the PO
THE best live Rock band on Earth. And all the other planets. Have to recommend a) their entire back catalogue and b) anything they make in the future.
Classic rock 2014
2 Bubble : A tribute to the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, funky rock
3 Different
: First anime opening song, new sense of high-speed rock. Anime is Log Horizon 3rd season.
4 Daydreaming : Beautiful power ballad. Kobato's backing vocals and Kanami's guitar solo are wonderful.
5 Dice : Rhythmic hard rock singing women's independence
6 about us : A gift for fans who cannot meet in a pandemic.
Medium speed Hard Rock 2016
10 Secret My Lips and Secret Maiko Lips : Funky Hard Rock.
Best wishes from across the channel..
lol what you mean about accent is the tone, she sings with a more "European" sounding register, most Asian female singers have higher pitch.
😁
This is their first official music video back in 2014 that started it all.

(But really you can't go wrong with any of their songs.)
And keep up your Japanese musical journey with the likes of Nemophila, Hanabie and Gacharic Spin.
Want to hear them do something that sounds like Motorhead? Don't bring me down.. Nasty rock
@@ronniebrucehalford8396
Exactly!
This one is just the appetizer. A lifelong feast awaits!
Thanks for reacting to my favourite band Band Maid ! I would suggest you react to 'Freedom' or' Domination' the official lives next. Most of all I hope your Band Maid journey is as enjoyable as mine has been. Enjoy !!
Welcome to the "BAND-MAID" world!!!
Yes fully agree
🤘🤘❤🤘🤘 MISA MISA MISA!!! 🤘🤘
Oh you DEFINITELY need to see these ladies live!!! Try Domination!!!!! 😉❤✌🏼
Great video and interactions you two!!!
Welcome to Band-Maid!

This is the controlled version of BM. Now that they have control of their creative vision and sound they are the best rock band out right now. In the world.
What this band has to do with Babymetal tho ? LMAO
@@Arthur_Rodri Oops. I wrote that wrong BM is Band maid. I forgot peeps refer to Baby Metal as BM.
Now go see the first recommended Band-Maid live video - Domination live. It's a good introduction to how good they really are, and then it only gets better from there.
Guys, watch them played this song live 2021 and with other songs No God, Warning, After Life, Manners, and also check another all Japanese female Heavy Metal Band
LOVEBITES - latest live video songs Set The World On Fire, Dont Bite The Dust, MV Glory To The World and Winds Of Transylvania.
NEMOPHILA - songs Dissension, Raitei(Thunder), Blooming
HANABIE - song We Love Sweets (Japanese Jinjer)
The first song I saw 5 years ago. Better now to say the least. They have new version that's even better. Best god damned rock band on the planet.
Yes, Band-Maid is another excellent Japanese hard rock band.
MISA MISA MISA!!!
すみみみません? no problem👍
BAND MAIDで楽しい人生を🤗
You can hear two songs by them and one song you can see them playing in the dance club
Have you ever react to the Japanese band name Scandal?
And many are represented with nearly 40 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts. Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on February 14th (“Domination” th-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/w-d-xo.html), ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 (bandmaidprime.tokyo) and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids are excellent. Here’s four of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at super intimate venues. These two taken by Vladimir Chupin in Hamburg: th-cam.com/video/__1th7ctgMo/w-d-xo.html, and a fun, wonderful live performance in Amsterdam of Miku introducing "Don't You Tell Me" (with MISA & Kanami's great instrumental exchange) and "Turn Me On” (with MISA's solo intro): th-cam.com/video/kfYQoWBlSpk/w-d-xo.html. The next one was taken by JT Dayo in LA: th-cam.com/video/4uIYBkAybCI/w-d-xo.html, and finally by JOSER8845 in LA: th-cam.com/video/usWZvlGGDSs/w-d-xo.html. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
Band-Maid members are:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.

@@jjo154 lol As Tolstoy once said, "The two most powerful warriors are patience and time." -- both of which are required to read my comments. Joke away, Mr. Oda. Joke away. 😄

Domination and Freedom, both live tracks are what you need to see. cheers. These girls are always better live, and are very addictive.
Live Live Live. You have to see them live. Play, Freedom, Choose Me, Domination, Dice, Onset. All live versions are a must.
And this song is literally only the beginning. For you, but also for the ladies themselves. Because with this, their quest to take over the world, has only really taken off. Believe me, you haven't even scratched the surface of what these ladies have to offer, and they have some surprises up their sleeves. :)
In principle, I can recommend every song by them, because even if I didn't believe it myself at first, their catalog simply doesn't contain any bad songs. It's true! But since all Maidiacs are sure about one thing, that the ladies are best live on stage, I just name the song the ladies released after this one here, 'Real Existence' or their showcase performance 'Domination'. Both in their live versions, of course. :)
Oh, and before I forget: I absolutely agree that Saiki has a strong western touch with her vocals.

Love to see ur reaction
I moved on to Dice (MV) and Domination (live) and then became a Maidiac😁
BAND MAID = VIEWS!!!! Nuff Said. :)
This is Band-Maid in their baby form. Now they sounded way way way better. Not saying Thrill is a bad song of course.
Miku Kobato - RHYTHM GUITAR
Misa - BASS GUITAR - Please not the Jimi Hendrix sticker on her Bass.
If you're interested try out Infection Defective, it will give you an idea of what they're like.
you guys should check next, X-Japan Endless Rain from "The Last Live" HD, that will bring tears :)
You guys will love LOVE love domination by band maid! But the live version tho.
We will check out the live version, make sure you’re subscribed to see when it’s live 💪
A very Kick-Ass tune, but with regards to appearance and musicianship this is from 2014, things have certainly changed with the band. There is a newer up-to-date LIVE stream of this tune. Stay with them, they never disappoint. "Blooming" is my suggestion for the next part of your journey.
Freedom Live! Best drum solo and guitar solo!
Hell yeah 🙏🔥
Giant Rabbit Hole. You will find it nice down there
Non-stop 🔥 from start to finish.
A good example in Dallas. 😄 th-cam.com/video/zBrRUxEbILQ/w-d-xo.html
Great reaction, thumbs up! This video is eight years old now, they've progressed a lot. Their live videos are arguably better than their studio versions. From their YT channel, I'd check out:
Domination live--kinda of quintessential Band Maid, a good starting point, everyone gets a short solo, Misa switching between picking and slapping.
Real Existence live - harder style, again signature catchy melody
Play live - bit harder, nice instrumental lead-in, in which Misa and her bass are on fire
Onset live -- instrumental, really interesting to see how they arrange it
Different MV -- sounds like an anime OP!
The dawn of the greatest rock band in the world today.
So now you're back with some more Japanese reactions again... Dexcore soon (or Paledusk but probably less palatable for you)? 😎
Also gotta love some Band-Maid!
Band Maid - From Now On
Hey fellow Brits...maybe check their progress, some years along, with the MV 'Dice' and a bad ass live performance like 'Domination'. This band are mega song writers and variable in their style...my favourite since Queen 🤟🤟
Enjoying the reactions y’all! You guys should react to Spiritbox’s debut album Eternal Blue, I feel like you will love it! Cheers!
Maybe next time you could do another LOVEBITES - SET THE WORLD ON 🔥
as countless other have already said this is one of their first MV's for a mix of were they are at now id recomend manners/blackhole live. honeslty you will see so much hype about Band-Maid... its all true im not shitting you if your curious if its true goto their youtube page and click any video and im confident you will love it...defiantly a better sound live than in mv's.... i would say dont pick domination MV just because the sound is really low in it for some reason and that is the only reason id not recomend it but the live well that is something else altogether ;P
There are several female artists with lower pitch voices. Akina Nakamori, Momoe Yamaguchi, Hiromi Iwasaki for a few.
check out all of there music.... i thought they were a gimmick at first but they are not... some of the best musicians out there right now. I would recommend manners
