Band Maid are a real band with an authentic organic formation. Founded by a singing maid cafe waitress in 2013, Miku Kobato (guitarist/vocalist/lyricist) couldn’t even play guitar at that point. After finding Kanami playing guitar on TH-cam, she recruited her. Kanami invited the drummer she knew, Akane. Akane invited her bassist classmate from Tokyo School of Music, MISA. Then Miku brought in Saiki to level up the vocals and that’s when she started learning guitar from her own guitarist! It was only a few weeks and they were doing shows and about 6 months they were recording with a label.💪🏻🤘🏻
@@TheWolfHunterZ I should only add that Akane the drummer and MISA the bassist were friends probably from 2010 or something. They did not play together, they were just friends, skating around the city, going to concerts, etc. Kanami the lead guitarist is a great fan of Santana, and she took Akane to Santana's concert in Japan in early 2012. So, there was a lot of friendship even before Miku Kobato has found Kanami's demo on Nico-Nico site in May 2013.

Well they are Japanese. Formed in 2013. This video was their first from 2014. They are so, so, so much better today. Have over 90 songs and IMO the best hard rock band playing today. If you choose to check them out further go for a live video. Band-Maid must be experienced live. Oh, and stand by for an invasion by the Band-Maid army!
They're from Japan and they are the best hard rock band on the planet right now. This is very early band maid from 2014 and their more recent stuff will blow this away. Check out domination live from 2020. Also recommend real existence live 2018 and pretty much all of their other songs as well and there are a lot of them!
I love that japan is into metal and hard rock. seems they dig it more there then in America. here its all about pop and rap then come rock and metal. I admit I love it all though!

a 90+ song catalog of songs and not a single dud ... this is a legit hard rock band. the Bass, Guitar, and drums are all multi-instrumentalists (although other than the guitarist who does a little piano on a couple of songs they mostly stick to the instruments you see then play in this video) and are incredible musicians (the drummer, who wasn't highlighted on this song is my favorite all-time drummer ... not the fastest, not the most technical, but she knows how to lay down a sweet drum background unmatched by any drummer I know of (and I'm 63 and grew up on the likes of Beatles, Stones, The Who, Queen, Zepplin, etc) This song was their very first MV, and they have grown immensely since then. The first year or two others were writing their songs, but then they started writing their own songs (Miku. the 2nd singer in this song usually writes the lyrics, and Kanami then writes the music and arranges all the instruments ... although in the last year Kanami put her foot down and demanded the rest of them start writing and arranging as well ... the results have been nothing but spectacular with each change resulting in even better songs and arrangements. These girls are gold ... I personally think they deserve to be the next 'Beatles' (I personally think they blow the Beatles away, and I am a big Beatles fan. And that's only one aspect of this band ... they also usually (pandemics aside) do an 'April Fools' video for their fans every year where they put on traditional 'Maiko' (Geisha in training) costumes, add some traditional Japanese instrument sounds to their music and rock out as the band known as 'Band-Maiko'. And each of the girls has their unique on-stage and real-life personalities that their fans like to 'fanboi/fangirl over ... aside from a few 'boy band's or 'K-pop' groups (which are manufactured and don't have the musical talent, at least in terms of instruments as these ladies) I haven't seen a band that incorporates musical talent with individual band member fandom like this since the Beatles (ie. every fan of the band also is well aware of almost every detail of each band member's personality.( In terms of western music, these ladies blow the whole thing to smithereens, in terms of the music coming out of Asian these days, well, personally I think they are the very top of the rock genre worldwide, but as someone who has been deeply into the Asian music scene since 2014 (when I happened upon a music video by BABYMETAL and fell down a very pleasant rabbit whole I don't ever want to come out of) I swear on my life that there are bands and entertainers out there in Asia that will completely destroy every concept you've ever had of music as much as, or even more in some cases (check out Dimash .. google 'Dimash SOS' and prepare to have your world shook!!) even more than what you just saw here!

I couldn't have said it better...I'm a 50 year old Punk (got in trouble in 1st grade for bringing my Ramones album (that one of my babysitters gave me for my 6th birthday...right after it had come out that April she played the album one night while watching me and my little brother and loved watching me pogo about until I exhausted myself to sleep 😁)...and I fell through the same rabbit hole also via Babymetal, but my introduction to them was through NXT using "Karate" as the theme song for one of their Takeover events...later found out that the oldest daughter of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon is a fan and doting dad (who is a well known Metalhead) did what all dads do and became a fan himself😉😁
Good reaction! You have not even scratched the surface with this band. I have been sucked down the Band-maid rabbit hole for sometime now and I cannot see myself getting out. Not only are they TOP NOTCH musicians but damn good songwriters. I think they are not capable of producing a bad tune. Their live stuff is amazing. I would check out "Play (Live version)", "Moratorium", "Puzzle", "Alone", "Real Existence", "Dice", "Blooming" there are a few to started with. They do have a vast number of videos did not want to list them all. They are all good and worth checking out. Someone said: "The best Band-Maid song is the last one you heard" and I agree. These Band-Maidens are the REAL DEAL!
You just stumbled across my favourite band in the world today. Saw them live in London two years ago and I was hooked. You have got to watch some live tracks. Try Moratorium or Real Existence or Non Fiction Days live to see the chemistry these girls have on stage. Definitely the real deal!!!😁
I'm from Argentina so my first language is spanish. My cousin when I was like 11 or 12yo gave me 2 Metallica Albums to me. When I got home I started to listen to them and didn`t understand a word obviously, but still fucking rocked out. It was so cool that I started to learn english. Band-Maid is so cool, one of the best bands right now. I love them, pls check more of them. They'll not dissapoint!
This band is amazing, and prolific. They've put out 3 studio albums since 2017 (43 songs). They are stellar musicians and songwriters, and - the best part - they are creatively bold. They don't write fillers. I'd recommend Puzzle (live), Daydreaming, Alone (mv), Moratorium (live), Secret My Lips, The Dragon Cries (and anything from their alter ego band Band Maiko) for a good, varied sampling of their growing catalog. I"d also add Yolo (mv) to my recommendation list: this song to me is bursting at the seams with imagination (and it has a jaw dropping solo).

This year it's definitely not a good idea to go on a long trip to the other side of the globe, but you should plan to attend BAND-MAID concert in Budokan on February 11, 2021. Ditto to everything everyone else posted.. I am a 67 year old musician and I found these beautiful and talented Japanese women on Facebook back in 2014. I knew they were going to be something special back then. Just remember the early songs weren't even written by them. Now Kanami Tono lead guitar writes and composes 95% of their music now and Miku Kobato the founder of the band writes the lyrics and does backing vocals and rhythm guitar which she is being taught by Kanami Tono... In my opinion Band-Maid is the most talented musicians in the world today.. IMO. Loved your reaction keep rocking. 🤘🤘
Guys, you've fallen down a big rabbit hole with this band.. Check out EVERYTHING they've done. Nothing is lacking, and you'll find a band of real quality. Also, on a bit of a tangent go and check out Lovebites.. people usually begin with the track "Shadowmaker".

This song is nothing compared to their newer songs. This is their first MV and they seem to know nothing about what to do but if you check their new stuff, especially live, you'll be surprised. Check out their songal like Domination (Live from Line Cube Shibuya, Feb. 14,2020), Blooming, Dice, naaah just check out any of their songs, either hard rocking like the classic 80's or blues rock-ish, rock ballads like Daydreaming, Awkward and Anemone or borderline metal-ish song like Rinne/Reincarnation. They just don't have any bad song. It's either good, better or best.

Miku (band founder) was in a Idol group but quit it and started working at a Maid Cafe. She wanted to rock a little and I won't repeat what others have already stated except she already had a taste of what it would take and soon realized she didn't have the voice for a lead singer in a rock band and went out and found one. Kanami convinced her that she had to learn to play the guitar (i'm sure Kanami already had songs inside her head but needed that extra guitar to fill it in) and she learned while being in front of us on stage. After 6 years she is a damn good rhythm guitarist. I keep waiting until one day she will lay down a solo... Lol..Peace

As they say, "You aint seen nothin yet". The most amazing band I've seen in years! I'm sure many have already said to check out their live videos. They are amazing but their regular videos are really good too for the most. Word of advice, always be ready when you start them. I can count the number of slow intros they have on one hand! Most of the time they are rocking out of the gate. While they rock as hard as this or more most of the time, they do show off their ability with a few slow-ish songs too. For your next I recommend Dice MV (My first of them), Dragon Cries MV, Play Live, Moratorium Live. Hope to see more soon!

I`m 60 and have heard all the best rock bands of the '70s and '80s but lost my love for hard rock as it all started sounding the same. Band-maid gave me back my love for hard rock. These women are just amazing... I found them 1-2 months ago, i got all albums now, i got a shirt from Japan and listen them every single day. I lost interest in music for like a decade, it all did not felt good, authentic or don´t know how to describe it. I am a little fanboy now, because their music is so damn good, especially LIVE they are gonna blow you away. Can´t wait to see them live here... This MV saved their career... When this was released they were about to split the band. At least according to others. Well it started to live it's life on social media, and they suddenly got feedback from overseas. I got the feeling things really kicked of when they started writing their own material, where they could show of their great talent. Akane on drums is one of the best around. Recommend checking out Moratorium and Domination live :)
It's a Japanese all girl band formed back in 2013 by the girl playing the "Rickenbacker" Guitar. They're still selling out venues to this day. I hope to see them in October of 2022 in Maryland.

Band-Maid have to be maybe the best hard rock band in the world today. The thing is that there are a lot of really good bands coming out of Japan at the moment. If you like power singers try Unlucky Morpheus. The singer is just a force of nature, and the band have so much talent it's silly, they just hit like a freight train and keep going. Unlucky Morpheus - Black Pentagram Another band for you Lovebites, they are starting to make big waves out side of Japan. Lovebites - Shadowmaker.
I love not even having to give info on Band-Maid anymore. All the Band-Maid fans swarm in and make sure the listener knows exactly what's going on and will tell anything and everything about the band and it's members. Band-Maid fans might be the best fans out there!

TOKYO. the maid outfit is a contrast Miku worked in a Maid cafe and decided to start a rock band. also when they are not playing no one will recognize then as Miku said in their beginning, we are not an idol band, judge us on our work.
Someone correct me if I am wrong. I believe they are all between 26 and 30 years old. The lead singer Saiki being the youngest and Akane, the drummer, the oldest at 30. Some think this is a commercial gimmick, but its not. This band was formed by these ladies, not a corporation or recording label. At first they did not have full creative control of their music, as most in the industry can attest to for new bands. The label always wants their way. But it did not take long before they started playing their own music. Research them and the more you learn, the more you love them. Before long, you will be part of Band-Maid family.
Band was put together in 2013. Three members did know each other before Band-Maid was formed - MISA (bass) and Akane (drums) knew each other from studying at the Tokyo School of Music, and Akane and Kanami (guitar) had been working together before Band-Maid. All three started to learn music (playing piano) before they went to school (age about 3 - 5.) In high school MISA learnt trumpet and alto horn whilst Akane learnt trombone. After that MISA played guitar before switching to bass. Akane tried guitar but found drumsticks easier to handle. Kanami also switched to guitar in high school. Currently the band are in their mid to late twenties.

It should be noted that Miku's background is as a pop singer, she was in a pop idol group prior to this called Li'l Cumin. If I recall correctly MISA actually started music school in the audio engineering/mixing/production program.

Thank you!! That is the goal to get her more involved. It’s hard to go to the studio with kids and stuff. So we are currently building a small studio set at our house so that she can do them all the time. So we can’t do them as fast now but hopefully very soon! Hopefully the quality will still be good too. Since we can’t afford as good equipment as this studio. So might have to sacrifice a little to get SUZI!! This is one of their earliest songs where they actually got license to truly write and arrange their own songs. They're still pretty new here and yeah it does show a bit. But it didn't take long at all for the to know exactly what they were doing and how they wanted their music represented.
I've yet to hear any reaction vid comment on the spectacular drum fill at around 6 minute in this one. That badass fill needed to be way up in the mix!
Rock is, as most music is, a straight shot to the heart and soul. No need to understand you just feel it. As a rocker I may be a bit partial but rock music speaks to your soul more than other forms of music. Not just through lyrics but the musicianship most of all.

@@TheWolfHunterZ Band-Maiko is a side project of Band-Maid. They have released a single on April 1, 2017 and a single on April 1, 2018 and then changed record labels. Their first Revolver Records release entitled Band-Maiko, a seven song mini album of previous tracks but given the Band-Maiko treatment, was released on April 3, 2019.
Both Secret Maiko Lips and Gion-cho are up on TH-cam and listening to Secret My Lips first isn't a bad idea. All Band-Maiko recordings are credited Lyrics by Band-Maiko. Music by Band-Maiko and arranged by Band-Maid. Regards.
I couldn't have said it better...I'm a 50 year old Punk (got in trouble in 1st grade for bringing my Ramones album (that one of my babysitters gave me for my 6th birthday...right after it had come out that April she played the album one night while watching me and my little brother and loved watching me pogo about until I exhausted myself to sleep 😁)...and I fell through the same rabbit hole also via Babymetal, but my introduction to them was through NXT using "Karate" as the theme song for one of their Takeover events...later found out that the oldest daughter of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon is a fan and doting dad (who is a well known Metalhead) did what all dads do and became a fan himself😉😁

Band-Maid come from Tokyo, Japan - and sing in Japanese and English. Formed in 2013 and has released 7 albums do far (at time of writing.)

Good reaction! You have not even scratched the surface with this band. I have been sucked down the Band-maid rabbit hole for sometime now and I cannot see myself getting out. Not only are they TOP NOTCH musicians but damn good songwriters. I think they are not capable of producing a bad tune.
Their live stuff is amazing. I would check out "Play (Live version)", "Moratorium", "Puzzle", "Alone", "Real Existence", "Dice", "Blooming" there are a few to started with. They do have a vast number of videos did not want to list them all. They are all good and worth checking out. Someone said: "The best Band-Maid song is the last one you heard" and I agree. These Band-Maidens are the REAL DEAL!

You just stumbled across my favourite band in the world today. Saw them live in London two years ago and I was hooked. You have got to watch some live tracks. Try Moratorium or Real Existence or Non Fiction Days live to see the chemistry these girls have on stage. Definitely the real deal!!!😁

I'm from Argentina so my first language is spanish. My cousin when I was like 11 or 12yo gave me 2 Metallica Albums to me. When I got home I started to listen to them and didn`t understand a word obviously, but still fucking rocked out. It was so cool that I started to learn english.

This band is amazing, and prolific. They've put out 3 studio albums since 2017 (43 songs). They are stellar musicians and songwriters, and - the best part - they are creatively bold. They don't write fillers. I'd recommend Puzzle (live), Daydreaming, Alone (mv), Moratorium (live), Secret My Lips, The Dragon Cries (and anything from their alter ego band Band Maiko) for a good, varied sampling of their growing catalog. I"d also add Yolo (mv) to my recommendation list: this song to me is bursting at the seams with imagination (and it has a jaw dropping solo).

This year it's definitely not a good idea to go on a long trip to the other side of the globe, but you should plan to attend BAND-MAID concert in Budokan on February 11, 2021. I think a lot of fans from all over the world plan to go there. It will be the world-shaking, world-dominating event.

Ditto to everything everyone else posted.. I am a 67 year old musician and I found these beautiful and talented Japanese women on Facebook back in 2014. I knew they were going to be something special back then. Just remember the early songs weren't even written by them. Now Kanami Tono lead guitar writes and composes 95% of their music now and Miku Kobato the founder of the band writes the lyrics and does backing vocals and rhythm guitar which she is being taught by Kanami Tono... In my opinion Band-Maid is the most talented musicians in the world today.. IMO. Loved your reaction keep rocking. 🤘🤘
Guys, you've fallen down a big rabbit hole with this band.. Check out EVERYTHING they've done. Nothing is lacking, and you'll find a band of real quality. Also, on a bit of a tangent go and check out Lovebites.. people usually begin with the track "Shadowmaker".

Welcome to my favorite hard rock band in the world BAND MAID. This is exactly how I found them., Thrill video first, then PLAY & then DOMINATION. Went straight to every album after that. I can't stop listening to them.
This song is nothing compared to their newer songs. This is their first MV and they seem to know nothing about what to do but if you check their new stuff, especially live, you'll be surprised. Check out their songal like Domination (Live from Line Cube Shibuya, Feb. 14,2020), Blooming, Dice, naaah just check out any of their songs, either hard rocking like the classic 80's or blues rock-ish, rock ballads like Daydreaming, Awkward and Anemone or borderline metal-ish song like Rinne/Reincarnation. They just don't have any bad song. It's either good, better or best.

Miku (band founder) was in a Idol group but quit it and started working at a Maid Cafe. She wanted to rock a little and I won't repeat what others have already stated except she already had a taste of what it would take and soon realized she didn't have the voice for a lead singer in a rock band and went out and found one. Kanami convinced her that she had to learn to play the guitar (i'm sure Kanami already had songs inside her head but needed that extra guitar to fill it in) and she learned while being in front of us on stage. After 6 years she is a damn good rhythm guitarist. I keep waiting until one day she will lay down a solo... Lol..Peace

BANDMAID IS THE MOST TALENTED BAND THAT I’VE HEARD IN DECADES! Each member is a star in their own right! I haven’t heard one song by them that I don’t like! AWESOME!
As they say, "You aint seen nothin yet". The most amazing band I've seen in years! I'm sure many have already said to check out their live videos. They are amazing but their regular videos are really good too for the most. Word of advice, always be ready when you start them. I can count the number of slow intros they have on one hand! Most of the time they are rocking out of the gate. While they rock as hard as this or more most of the time, they do show off their ability with a few slow-ish songs too. For your next I recommend Dice MV (My first of them), Dragon Cries MV, Play Live, Moratorium Live. Hope to see more soon!

Others below have already said what needs to be said. With that said: they are the best hard rock band in 30 years. I`m 60 and have heard all the best rock bands of the '70s and '80s but lost my love for hard rock as it all started sounding the same. Band-maid gave me back my love for hard rock. They are ALL phenomenal performers but give each other a chance to shine. They are a very cohesive group. Great reaction. Suzy: Love your blue hair and makeup. Very sexy look. These women are just amazing... I found them 1-2 months ago, i got all albums now, i got a shirt from Japan and listen them every single day. I lost interest in music for like a decade, it all did not felt good, authentic or don´t know how to describe it. I am a little fanboy now, because their music is so damn good, especially LIVE they are gonna blow you away.

This MV saved their career... When this was released they were about to split the band. At least according to others.
Well it started to live it's life on social media, and they suddenly got feedback from overseas. I got the feeling things really kicked of when they started writing their own material, where they could show of their great talent. Akane on drums is one of the best around. Recommend checking out Moratorium and Domination live :)
It's a Japanese all girl band formed back in 2013 by the girl playing the "Rickenbacker" Guitar. They're still selling out venues to this day. I hope to see them in October of 2022 in Maryland.

Band-Maid have to be maybe the best hard rock band in the world today. The thing is that there are a lot of really good bands coming out of Japan at the moment.
If you like power singers try Unlucky Morpheus. The singer is just a force of nature, and the band have so much talent it's silly, they just hit like a freight train and keep going. Unlucky Morpheus - Black Pentagram

Someone correct me if I am wrong. I believe they are all between 26 and 30 years old. The lead singer Saiki being the youngest and Akane, the drummer, the oldest at 30. Some think this is a commercial gimmick, but its not. This band was formed by these ladies, not a corporation or recording label. At first they did not have full creative control of their music, as most in the industry can attest to for new bands. The label always wants their way. But it did not take long before they started playing their own music. Research them and the more you learn, the more you love them. Before long, you will be part of Band-Maid family.

Band was put together in 2013. Three members did know each other before Band-Maid was formed - MISA (bass) and Akane (drums) knew each other from studying at the Tokyo School of Music, and Akane and Kanami (guitar) had been working together before Band-Maid. All three started to learn music (playing piano) before they went to school (age about 3 - 5.) In high school MISA learnt trumpet and alto horn whilst Akane learnt trombone. After that MISA played guitar before switching to bass. Akane tried guitar but found drumsticks easier to handle. Kanami also switched to guitar in high school. Currently the band are in their mid to late twenties.

It should be noted that Miku's background is as a pop singer, she was in a pop idol group prior to this called Li'l Cumin. If I recall correctly MISA actually started music school in the audio engineering/mixing/production program.

Thank you!! That is the goal to get her more involved. It’s hard to go to the studio with kids and stuff. So we are currently building a small studio set at our house so that she can do them all the time. So we can’t do them as fast now but hopefully very soon! Hopefully the quality will still be good too. Since we can’t afford as good equipment as this studio. So might have to sacrifice a little to get SUZI!! This is one of their earliest songs where they actually got license to truly write and arrange their own songs. They're still pretty new here and yeah it does show a bit. But it didn't take long at all for the to know exactly what they were doing and how they wanted their music represented.
I've yet to hear any reaction vid comment on the spectacular drum fill at around 6 minute in this one. That badass fill needed to be way up in the mix!

Rock is, as most music is, a straight shot to the heart and soul. No need to understand you just feel it. As a rocker I may be a bit partial but rock music speaks to your soul more than other forms of music. Not just through lyrics but the musicianship most of all.
