- First of all, id like to say, this is not my representation of all Police officers. i have been through exactly what is portrayed in this video. throughout life i have also met some decent officers and i truly appreciate their duty to serve and protect. this video is entirely to point out that many of us can go through police brutality and wrong doings and a lot of times its how you handle yourself and react etc etc. i have been hearing about a lot about not everyone goes through these things and myself, i think its more of a poverty issue than a race issue but i can only speak for myself and i am here to tell you i have never been cut any slack or given any exceptions and many run ins with the law in my life to which some or most have ended this way in which the video shows but once again i know their is good officers of the law and have met a few aswell. this is just my story and my way of showing what i have been through so when someone points the finger and says "you dont know what its like" oh but i do....

I can kinda relate to what is being said in this song, growing up poor. Lost my mother at a young age, never had to many new anything. Spent time in a children's facility til I aged out. My best friend passed away of drug addiction. Had rocky relationships. Still poor as an adult, on food stamps. But I thank God I'm alive and breathing.

Same here my friend! I grew up in the projects. Whites, blacks, Puerto Ricans, and a few orientals. We all played pick-up sports together. We all played hide and seek together. We definitely all had each other's backs. Then as we all grew older it's like we drifted apart from each other. We all started hanging with are own race. Because that's how society wanted it. As children we were so friggin close. Sleep outs, swimming holes. I'm older now and I remember being so happy as a child. High school is where everyone started to split up. We never ever as kids looked at each other's skin color. That's how it should be! Need to have the same mentality as kids when it comes to who you can be with. Just seeing everyone as human beings.
The first song I listened to by Nu Breed was "Welcome to my house" and since then, They are ALMOST all I listen to. I found this song and it make me love him more!

I just turned 63, and I can promise you that growing up in the 70's, when we went to the Mad Hatter in Underground Atlanta we didn't give a shit what color someone was! We were just all happy to have somewhere we could go dance, meet New friends and do the occasional line of coke off of one of the tables! Color my ass... Dance till you passed out, no matter what color!

It's been a war on poverty since they started the war on drugs. A lot of people want to make it a issue of race that's the story they need to feed us to assure there's always a great divide. I had 3 people I know( 2 I cared for dearly killed by police because they were armed days before but not the day they died tho) shot and killed by corrupt police in my county that was in the last 4 years alone. This video hit me in the heart I have seen my dad bleeding in cuffs so many times because of our last name and his reputation. My dad spent 3 months in a medical coma cause after they got him to county later that night the drug him how tied out back shackled beat him with night-sticks then threw him back in cell. If he died they were just going to say it's where he fought them during arrest and refused medical care. Thank God 1 CEO wanted no part of cold blooded murder or my dad would've been gone by the time I was 7. So maybe there are privileged people in this world but I assure you every privilege in my life I worked hard overcame and earned. So more people need to have the conversation because at the end of the day we have way more in common. Quit letting truly privileged tell us what's what when most couldn't make a weekend in our world and keep their sanity intact. Great song in a time it's really needed.

Yessir NuBreed!! I was born in raised in the Armpit of America(NJ) Didnt have shit coming up, pops was in and out of prison.. and I went on to be a female roofer to care for my children. I wish someone would come at me sideways thinking I'm privileged in any way. I literally worked my ass off, running shingles up and down ladders swinging an est wing just to half assed get by. I was targeted by police just because I was my fathers daughter... locked up by the age of 15, family of drug addicts and alcoholics, I watched my aunt die of aids. That's some priviledge huh? I wish the world would see that priviledge isn't white... the problem has nothing to do with racism and everything to do with "stay in your place'ism"

Nu Breed this song gave me goosebumps along with many of your other songs I relate to this one in particular though is my current situation I was wrongfully dragged out of my tent face shoved in the mud middle of the night went to jail got on an ankle monitor for my first offense for something I didn't do and it's due to the hate and obsession this one individual has for homeless people and being put on the spot he obviously has alot of pull in his stand point and is abusing that pull to target me individually because I called him out on peeping Tom invading privacy and spying on the homeless out here a month prior to my charge he claims to be a witness for ik good prevails and it will all be okay but I'm still anxious so thank you for continuing to produce music that is truthful and modern scenarios anyone can relate to in some way
