It was the 2nd of February last year, a Friday. I called dad in the afternoon, and he did not sound very well on the phone. It has been just about 2 weeks since my granddad passed away (my father's father). My dad did not tell me he was feeling bad on the phone, just asked me to visit him on the next day. It is a 2.5-hour drive. I decided to go immediately. TH-cam has randomly recommended this track of yours to me a couple of days before that point and I really liked it. I wanted to play something dynamic on the road during the drive so I chose it for my background while having all kinds of thoughts about what was going on with dad. I could not make it though. He passed away while I was still on the road. Yet he somehow still lives in this song every time I listen to it.
If I ever see you in person, I will just give you a hug, man. Thank you for your music!

But even if you don't relate exactly to someone else's story, the lyrics can still have just as much meaning to your own situation, struggles, and triumphs. When people question me, as you might imagine happens quite often, if I can and will stay sober for the long run, this line is my answer to that question.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw the video. I've been struggling with making rap music for a long time. I did a lot of freestyle rap as a teenager and young adult. But circumstances just didn't let me do anything serious with it. Just yesterday I thought to myself again how much I just want to rap. I just want to express myself and give love back to the community. And then I thought again, who wants to listen to me old man? Then I see the video and BOOM! The man has skills, flow and something to say. And he's at least as old as me or maybe older. That gives me courage and awakens my own hunger. That's why age shouldn't matter.
