I bought the exact same gun 10 years ago as my first firearm. Same colors too. I went w the 1911 for the safety features so I wouldn't shoot myself in the foot as a beginner. Excellent gun with little recoil due to the weight of the gun. My next purchase was recent of two AR15s. I've had those for almost a year and still haven't fired any rounds through them but I beat the WA ban.
@@bretttodd6470 This 1911 is a joy to shoot, and nice luckily your picked up the ar15'a in time. I havent shot my ar15 in a while, the ammo is pricey but ima have to take it to the range soon.
You might be pushing it to the left when you pull tigger, I say that because you said you have small hands. If you can shoot at further distance it will be easier to tell or you may need to just drift your rear sight to the right just a little, don't forget to loosen the set screw in site before you drift it.
@@tubeonline629 I think ur right about pushing to the left, this is a problem ive seen with many firearms and I believe its when im pulling the trigger.
Chewed that one up pretty good. Series 70 and Series 80 are not models. Keeping things simple, though not entirely accurate, Series 70 refers to 1911s that do not feature an internal firing pin block. Your Ruger is an example of this. The Series 70 based designs are considered by many to be the preferred design. Series 80 designs do feature an internal firing pin block. There's no Series 90. 2011, refers to 1911s that feature a thicker grip and a "double-stack'" magazine that provides for more magazine capacity. My wife has owned an SR1911 for many years and considers it to be her favorite.
Nope. My Colt 1911 is a "1991 series". It's basically their cheapest model, internally a series 80, externally looks like a mil-spec or GI model :) Seies 90 is the Colt Double Eagle, their version of a DA/SA pistol, made to look like a 1911. But for some reason they also stick this name on their Defender line at some point.
Hey bud, .. just take baby steps when it comes to guns. I can tell you’re eager to learn. Just commit to range time as much as possible. Good luck and nice gun.
If this follows suit with the sr45 then its a complete piece of garbage , ruger should do a total buy back on the sr45 and should be embarrassed to not have done it sooner

As the barrel gets broken in groups should tighten up if you do your part
I have this one too, I love it. I bought 15 rnd clips for it. They do stick out a little though

@@starlinsims2969 such a fun gun to shoot, I went again recently to shoot it and the accuracy is very nice.
That is a 70 series, the way they are supposed to be.

Series 90 is the Colt Defender
ruger 1911s are series 70,
@user-hj5yq4cx4t Reel was asking what the Series 90 was, which were the Defender, the XSE Series and the 1991 series.
Nice looking gun but the 80ds are junk and the 70ds and 1930ds are amazing 👏👏👏👏👏👏💪💪💪💪👌👌👌👌👌😁
Sr1911's are 70 series.
being seeing that thing at Academy for about 1K
I carry 2
Nice video.
Are those feet or yard distances? Looks like feet.
@@dmaxvb Im use to yards but I was thinking the same this range must be feet distances.
Coulda had a colt man. If you paying a grand get a colt.
@@earldelsanto if i wanted a colt then I would get a colt, I still might get one eventually I have my eye on some at my local gun shop.
There is a handful of 1911s that are better than a Colt for a grand Ruger included Colts are not as good as they used to be
@@KelvinHenderson-dz4ucvery True. Colt quality has gone down

No this ain't no polymer bull crap, this is a all stainless 1911, Ruger has done a fine job on these.
No body carries a 1911 these days just to heavy and only 7or 8 shots most people carry Glock 17 19, etc.💯👍
@@Risteard156 100% true, this will not be a carry gun for me.

Been carrying a 1911 for over 40 yrs great gun
If you need that many rounds, perhaps you should take up a knife collection instead!
Grip safety is what we call it not palm safety.
