Cool stuff. I have a MG300. Some improvements on this MG-101: USB C out (agains usb micro from MG300), 1 headphones out (MG300 only have one stereo out and doesnt have headphones out) It seems to have a bigger screen than MG300. Thanks for the video.
I have MG-100 and I've using it for almost 6 years. Considering its small size on my pedal board, I've combined it with noise gate and booster pedal and also with compressor and it sounds amazing. Now with this newly MG-101 I think I might sell my MG-100 to buy this one. 😂
Hi Derek, good to see another of your' excellent reviews. This Unit intrigues me as I had a Korg AXG-1 in the old days that bears a striking resemblance to this box but lacked contemporary technical goodies of the MG-101, no amp sims & IR's in those days!. Nevertheless, for a bottom of the range multi, it was rather good and fitted on my main board with a couple of drive pedals, used predominantly for modulation, delay & reverb. The MG-101 looks as though it could well become a standalone unit in it's own right, provided you strip away the excesses of the presets of course 😉. I could well see a practical little unit like this not only being a learner's intro to fx and doing the job well, but also acting as a 'flyboard' for band practice as I used mine for and also for those little used fx that only get used once or twice in the set list, which fitted the bill nicely and saved me a fortune in individual pedals 🙂. Take care, amigo
Hey Gareth! Yeah I remember those! They were great back in the day! I agree about the presets on this unit, way too many effects, but of course you can take them all off or dial them back! Keep on rockin my friend!
Hi DP. Great review as ever. Killer vfm this. Shame there is no acoustic sim. The auto feature on the looper is brilliant considering the price. All the best bud.
You've got to stop using the neck position pickup with high gain! It sounds like a muffled muddy mess of static. Please use the bridge position pickup to get clarity. And how about adding a guitar with humbuckers?
@@DerekPaulGuitar hi, I've seen some of your videos and you could prepare better music examples according to the preset names, that way it would be more interesting to hear and more fare to the product is trying to show that it is capable of! Thanks!!!

Thanks Chip! Thanks for watching and commenting as always :) all the best man!
It looks like this model is an update of the MG-100. The previous version could also run on AA batteries. Is the 101 battery-powered as well?
yes, it uses 6 AA batteries

Noted thanks! I’ll keep it in mind

Thanks for the feedback, I struggle with time to do it at the moment but appreciate the comment!
Everything sounds muffled?
