Thanks for the reminder Antonio McDyess returned to Denver after a one-year stint with Phoenix. He was supposed to return to the Suns, but was nixed courtesy of then-president/GM Dan Issel (see Wiki entry for the brief story). Anyhow, "'Dyess" returned to Phoenix via trade in 2004. He was supposed to have a third stint with the Nuggets in 2008 (Chauncey-AI trade), but returned to the Pistons after the 30-day moratorium. Losing his 40-inch explosiveness following knee surgeries, he reinvented his game by midrange and turnaround jumpers that kept him effective until he retired. How I wish he returned to San Antonio for his final year of his contract as the Spurs turned out to have a renaissance season. As for Nick Van Exel, he was a victim of Shaq's scapegoating after the Lakers got swept by the Utah the previous year. Van Exel had a great 1998, appearing to his first and only All-Star.
McDyess was a FREAK athlete prior to the injuries. He was never going to be a top 10 player (imo), but he could have been an incredible #2 option on a championship team (not in Denver obviously). We lost a lot of potential in this time--Grant Hill, TMac, Penny, Antonio, etc.
that PF position was loaded in the late 90s-early 00s. Soooo many guys
Man, wish McDyess never got injured. My Knicks have been cursed ever since we traded Patrick. Awesome clip!

Thanks for the great upload!

McDyess could’ve been very good if it wasn’t for those knee injuries because he was a great dunker also more all star apperances
Tim Duncan won this one on one matchup in scoring, passing, and defense.
