    Nice! Can you post a link or the part number for the hitch please? What's it rated for? Thinking of doing some towing with my Jetta. Thank you.

    Awesome! How did you do on fuel economy? Ever tow a small enclosed? I’m thinking about a 5x8 or 6x12 camper. More worried about the frontal area than weight

    • @JWSPEED
      @JWSPEED  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Averaged 28mpg. Doing 80mph. The fuel economy was much better climbing mountains in 4th gear wot than flat ground. The weight was pretty evenly split between the car and the loaded trailer. I would be very much opposed to pulling a single axle camper it would not be very stable aerodynamically. A smaller teardrop would be no problem. Double axle is more stable than single. Also the heavier the trailer is the safer it is. Subscribe to watch the road trip video coming out soon!

    Did you put new shocks/suspension on or any airbags before towing?

    At the end there were you getting ready to buy an s2000 shell? I’m trying to find a complete shell personally but it’s been hard.

    • @JWSPEED
      @JWSPEED  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! Definitely been keeping my eye out for some time. This is a drag shell so it came with almost nothing besides the shell with a cage. Did not come with the rear subframe or rear suspension

      @@JWSPEED damn that’s exactly what I’m after lol. I have a crashed one that is completely straight frame/suspension wide but the body is trashed in every regard. Good find 👍

    Hey man I have a ‘12 se 2.5 with 6 speed slushbox. Manual says I can town up to 2000lbs, but my dealer (and other dealer websites) say it’s not recommended to tow with my car. I was thinking of using a small enclosed uhaul trailer to tow maybe 300lb of furniture & other stuff ~1300 miles cross country. What do you think, am I safe, or should I forget about towing with my car? Thanks in advance.

      I towed a tent trailer last summer with my TDI sedan. Had to get stiffer springs first though. The only concern I had was the engine temps crept up when it was a hot day.

    • @crazycaden6303
      @crazycaden6303 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It says not recommended because it could void the warranty and cause more service intervals. The only thing I wonder is what the frame can handle.

      I know you’re tired of these questions not much info on the subject looking to swap mk4 2003 Jetta VR6 6speed into a mk4 golf , do you think I’d be able to pull the same trailer with a car ? Internet says 2k lbs and another site says 1400kg which is more than 2000 pounds

    Do you think a 2.0 TSI in my GLI would tow?

    • @JWSPEED

      Yes. Any engine can tow. Obviously the diesel engines create more tq and are more efficient.
