And fleeing and eluding arrest. And absconding while on bond. And just think, these are all the charges he hasn’t served time on. He’s already been in prison for a while. I wish more judges cared enough about where they lived to hand out the justice needed every single time. 10 open cases is absolutely absurd for someone who isn't even that old

I think a judge should be analytical and not emotional. They should be impartial and not allow their personal feelings and/or experiences bleed into their work. The question is whether the suspect charged with said crimes committed those crimes. If found to be guilty of said crimes, then the judge can take their past history and their remorse or lack thereof and/or their intent during or leading up to their crimes and then correlate that information with the sentencing guidelines to give a fair and equitable punishment based on the law. This should be done in a manner that is consistent for any and all people that might come before a judge for a similar offence. I have never seen a judge behave in such a manner, nor use such rhetoric while on the bench. He is endowed with the authority to make these decisions and the public has given their trust that he will serve their community fairly, yet he speaks like a vigilante out for vengeance instead of justice. The court already has all of the authority to do all of these things without all the bluster.

@@user-kx4tt3xh3l I feel you. I feel like repeat offenders like that guy speak to how often the court has a catch a release policy for these types. They took him into custody on some warrant out of another jurisdiction, but the judge had been talking about more probation, albeit a tougher probation. I think its probably best to consolidate all of his cases, toss some jail time on him and then have those conditions upon release. Clearly even a more formalized a tough probation is not going to change the defendants behavior, so skip to the end and lock him up then add all those conditions on him to stay out. I think the judge would look more tough if he gave the sentence, clarified what the future holds for this defendant in a calm and collected manner. His power comes from his office/title, not how tough he can talk. Its unnecessary and in my mind makes him look emotionally involved which a judge should do their utmost to avoid.
