Bury the Light really does tackle Vergil's character in a surprisingly genuine way, at first focusing in on his traits of calculated aggression and stoicism. With its chorus basically being Vergil's self assurance, he is the approaching storm, he is power. But as that melts away as we reach the end of the song, Vergil really levels with himself in a similar way to the whole of Visions of V. While he is all of those things mentioned earlier, he acknowledges what he lost and what he sacrificed to make him like this. To become the storm he had to bury his light, to be ashamed of it, for he believed it was the source of his weakness. And that final chunk of the song really does embody that specific melancholy that Vergil likely always felt subconsciously, but is now painfully aware of, more than ever. It's both incredibly motivating and truly heartbreaking at the same time and I don't know how they pulled it off.
