Inside the ball handle is a Allen Screw you can tighten it in it puts more pressure on the gate,

I wonder if the bottle fill gate could be replaced with the Stainless steel dripless valve that MannLake or Dadant sells. They are expensive, $150 but well worth it in my opinion. John is a great guy to do business with. Can't beat his customer service. I got one of his extractors last fall and it works great.

Yes, I replaced mine with a stainless steel drip less valve. The plastic valve that comes with it is glued on over a threaded Stainless fitting with something like JB Weld. Mine leaked when I got it & John at Hillco sent me a stainless drip free valve from Dadant free of charge. I highly recommend the upgrade, works great.

Good honest review. Thanks for sharing. I'm still putting my Honey in buckets and bottling from the buckets, but might have to consider one of these if the girls work hard enough for me. Does it need to be tilted to get all the honey out? If so, about how much does it leave in the bottom? (1/4", 1/2", etc.)

First year beek here, that being said, I wonder if you get sourwood. If so, could you maybe talk a little bit about the nuanced differences in that focus. Looking for more information as always and thanks for the content.

Hi, no we don’t get sourwood here in West TN.
I’m a plant nerd and I do love to talk about honey from different floral sources, I could definitely make a video discussing my areas honey types, if there’s interest in that.
      Thanks for the comment!

      It had a catastrophic failure.
I was refunded, and last I heard Hillco was looking into potential issues.

      Was failure with the value?
