I know someone always writes something like this, but my goodness - it is coming together so beautifully around your gardens. Not just as individual spaces with various themes, but the different spaces knitting into each other so evenly and purposefully. You are all inspirational. Thank you! ✨🪴✨

Laura, to say that you made good progress this year is an understatement. OMG! You guys knocked it out of the park. Are you kidding me with all the mature evergreen trees you planted. The Dream Stream! The revamping of the flower garden with hundreds of box woods. The new entrance gate. The new warehouse with Ken. WOW! What did I miss? I really enjoy watching your property evolve into something that is just amazing. Good team you have working there. Congratulations.

I’ve watched GA since long before the children were born and it’s been a wonderful gardening education for a lifetime LA apartment dweller who now had a back yard in Portland. 😳 I didn’t have a clue. But I’ve got to say, I think I’m enjoying how you grow children even more than how you grow plants. Benjamin and Samantha are such fun! I love seeing how engaged and adventurous they are. I know that you are all real people, and that we only see a tiny slice of your lives, but your videos are filled with love, joy, play, fun work, friendship, family and beauty and that’s a true gift to the viewer.

I'm one of the people who suggested that you put the boxwoods in a curve behind the benches. But, now I understand your reasoning. It all made sense at the end of the video when Aaron showed the overhead view.
You're so right! Another curved area would have been mundane. The squared off areas actually give it more character.
Please accept my apology for jumping the gun and commenting BEFORE the overhead shots were shown. LOVELY!!

I know it's more her style, and I know Laura will make it beautiful, but every time Laura works in and shows us around her more natural style gardens, I always wonder how anyone can prefer formal over natural. Of course I understand it's a matter of taste, but formal looks so contrived to me, and commercial. I'm sure it's because there was a big cemetery near my childhood home that was all straight lines, statuary and boxwood hedges everywhere, so it makes me think of that when I see the formal plantings. But oh my goodness, her natural areas are my idea of Heaven! What a gift she has, to be able to make formal areas and more natural ones, equally beautiful. Such amazing talent!

I'm so envious of your cold weather and frost. Here in eastern NC we rarely now get very cold in winter and haven't seen snow in 6 yrs, so the bugs weather over as do the weeds. The leaves on our trees just turn brown with no color change and the mosquitoes are still out and biting. Unfortunately our climate does not support fir trees so we make do with other evergreens that aren't as pretty as yours. So your videos are a joy to view.

Aaron should be so proud of his gorgeous green lawn an areas of green ,plus the trees. So many just filling in the properties with shade color, and the architectural effects . Some tall creating a living fence, some grouped to create a statement in an area. The Eastern White Pine and Junipers that tend to stay on a smaller scale are just gorgeous in the stream/ pond area. Nestled close to the boulders are perfect placements. Will be adding those to my my landscape. The colors of green,to blues are adding a cooling effect plus being evergreen for year long color. I never thought of color beyond things that would bloom. For anyone young and buying a home only need to watch your channel to create a beautiful landscape to enjoy. An it doesn't have to be a rushed process as you've proven. Adding yearly a little here and there ,getting trees and shrubs established so watering doesn't become an everyday thing in the summer. Once established in a year,it only becomes needed once a week if no rain. Blooming shrubs, some roses, an leaving space for annuals during the summer that will take watering almost on an everyday basis during hot summer days. Containers bring that element, an can be placed to easy water access if one doesn't have drip installed. You bring it all to the table, to decide for yourself based on your space and time you have to create areas that you enjoy instead of dread. If it becomes overwhelming, then the desire may be there, but quickly becomes too much and will end before it even gets started . I've learned so much over the years, and color doesn't always come from blooms but an array of mixtures of plants that bring interest thru out the gardens year long.

I’m not sure how I found Garden Answer but after being a loyal watcher for many years, I don’t know what I’d do without my daily(almost) dose of your channel. One request and a thing that sometimes leaves me wondering if I can manage plantings like yours - can you include the general care requirements when you are planting a variety of things as in this video. You always include zones/sizes but I’d also like to know about water needs, pruning requirements , sun/shade, evergreen or not…..etc. I know you do this for some plants, sometimes. Thanks so much for the gift of Garden Answer!

So many ideas! I love all your suggestions for new plants. I am green over how good your red twig dogwood look. Mine have battled for 3 years the herd of deer (who think it is the best snack ever). I am not sure they (the dogwoods) will return next year, but we will see. Such is the joy in the garden. The deer are beautiful, we have two big bucks. I have also enjoyed the set of twins we have watched grow over the summer. It is a balancing act. Watching your children run about and enjoy the marvelous space you have created is a delight to my heart. Great job positive parenting and not worrying about the small stuff.

Laura, your thoughtful placement of each plant is perfect and inspiring. Thank you for sharing what each plant will grow to look like, when mature, if we purchase any of these varieties.

6:00 Miss Laura, I have a suggestion. Your selling the leaf tarps in your warehouse, right? Why couldn’t you lay that on the ground over your mulch and put your dirt on it? When planting a new plant. That way you have dirt on top of your mulch. And then you just slide your dirt back into the hole then dispose of the remaining unused dirt. I guess that only works when your hand digging. Lol😊

Love your videos so much. Every morning, it’s my favorite thing to start my day. I have seen others lay a caution tape over the electrical lines in the ground, so you would know to stop digging, before you (or someone else) cut an electrical line, if that is of any interest to you. The fall foliage on the chicken coop tree is beautiful! I see now why you did right angles on the boxwoods behind the benches-good idea! You really have a sharp eye for the details, everything looks incredible, I love it!

At 13:58, you should make a horse riding path there. Maybe make more paths on the property so you can appreciate the view of your beautiful garden on horseback.

AGHHhhhh my heart aches a bit seeing that artic fire. I love them so much but they completely turn into a fungus mess in my garden (I've tried 3x)... but I'll live vicariously through Laura & her garden. Loved the music!

I love the names/pics on the screen of everything you put in, thank you! Your massive juniper made me miss ours -- it was by the road when we moved in 11 years ago and even though I pruned it every year (using the long branches as outdoor holiday decor sprayed with a little WiltStop) its roots finally crept into the water meter access and hubby said it had to be dug out :(

I love seeing those little treasures appear - Benjamin and Samantha. Of course I always look forward forward to some video bombing from the handsomes Douglas and Russell. I was thinking you might need one of those big leaf vacuums to clear by the pond. I love the falling leaves but you don’t want them ruining the pond. Thank you as always a delightful vlog ❤

I totally saw your vision on the other video when I saw it from the drone view! Regarding how you planted the boxwoods! It looks perfect and geometric! I saw the large square that was created.
