The 600 grain arrow made me order one. I only shoot high 400 to 500, but that's scootin for a 600.

I’m using a vista 33 for target in the Uk , it is by a mile the best holding bow I’ve ever shot, it’s like the thing is on a tripod !! Amazing bows

Great Video Fellas-Liking the new intro! Finally a reliable review from OHIO Archers. I’m brand new to archery/hunting and live in Ohio. It’s cool to watch the reviews from different channels but it hits home finally have one from our area!!! Great job keep it up.

You guys give the best reviews and you give the true speeds. Several other reviewers will not get the same speeds you guys get
How you determite true speed? i believe every bow is little different and seems that every chrono is also little different. So how can you be sure that specially these guys gives true speeds?
Jesus that thing is smoking fast, 261 at 28 inches with a 600 grain arrow. Impressive

Have you had a chance to test out the APA King Cobra, Black Mamba, or any of their 2022 line up?
I haven't shot anything from APA in a couple years

A lot of different factors to consider, especially with the price difference. Athens beats the Terrain in all categories of function, but the question you would have to ask is is it worth the extra $400? I say yes based on my needs, but that is a question you need to cater to your individual situation base

You got 261 with the 600 grain arrow??? WOW it should have been 242. That's 19fps above ibo that shot was about 359 fps ibo 😲 probably just Chrono fluc cause the other 2 arrows were just few feet below ibo. Great review guys and great choice in bows.
We do what we can to set up repeatable chrono testing. It is definitely fast, but we did keep getting it. That being said chrono fluctuation is definitely a thing. We have a radar on order which we'll see in about 7 months when they're off backorder! Thanks for the comment!
How does this compare to the envision? Where does one shine over the other ?

I prefer the vista. Yes it is slower, but I prefer a smooth draw cycle, and a dead in the hand bow. I’ve shot both quite a bit, and the vista would be my choice every time.
What reasons would you pick this over the Envision. Thanks
For me it’s smoother draw, I prefer the grip, and the company behind the bow.

Great video. I'd prefer to see the ibo speed. Not so much for the number but for the integrity of the company. I watch a ton of reviews and shoot several bows and quite frankly it's getting out of hand what the manufacturer is lying about. Most bows are 15-20+ fps slower. That new bowtech 350 getting 319 -330. Come on man they can do better. That being said this bow is the only one being honest so far.
Guess I'm long winded too but it's out of hand.
Of all the reviews I've seen so far this year, Athens seems to be closest to their advertised speed. Especially since the have also been closest to true draw lengths.
I agree with you completely, I think most of us are interested in seeing real IBO for the reasons you gave.

Good points without a doubt. I am definitely taking a risk not including the IBO in the videos, but it is intentional. If you're the guy that cares about IBO (and there are absolutely reasons to) you will certainly find it online, forums, other reviews etc. I'm taking it out because I see so many people that focus on speed over things that are going to help them shoot bows accurately. We will have speed related videos in the future, but they will cover a much better grasp of the speeds of the bows dl to dl. The reason most manufacturers lie about their IBOs is because people place such an importance on the speed. Im definitely not saying believe the IBO, just that with how fast bows are anymore the only time speed is a big factor is at a. lower dl or #, not at 70# 30". Long winded response, but I appreciate the comment.

New to bowhunting (been deer hunting for 30+ years) - Would the Vista 33" or 31" be better for a 29" draw length hunter? String angle vs. compact for the stand...not sure which to choose. Not looking for any shots beyond 40 yards from a treestand/blind.
Thats where it comes down to personal preference. Theres no hard and fast rule for better or worse, just general guidelines. You won't actually know which would be better for you until you've had experiences with both. My recommendation (take it with a grain of salt) for most people in your situation is going to be go with the 33, just simply by the law of averages. That is a common length for hunting, 3d and some people even shoot it for indoor target. If you know for a fact you just want to hunt close range/blind hunting, that could be more reason to go with the 31. Hopefully that helps. Thanks for the comment
Please leave the "IBO" test in. I assure you there are SEVERAL people who are looking for that. I absolutely hate watching video reviews when guys only shoot the bow a couple times at like 27/60 with a 430gn arrow.. I'd much rather see a test done at 30/70 and 350gn or 29/70 and 350gn and then add in a couple heavier arrows as you did in this one. I don't remember who it was but I saw one time when these guys shot bows at 30/70 with a 350/450/550/650.

@@ohiopremierarchery6800 thats actually very impressive speeds considering all the other flagship bows are anywhere from 8 to 20 feet slower than they advertise.
The only problem is resale value $1,000 bow that you have a hard time getting $600 for a couple weeks later I'm not a boy fan club or not but it's almost not worth buying anything but Matthews or hoyt if you plan on getting new every couple years
I disagree. Pretty sure the time spent with a good bow over a couple of years, more than compensates for it's lower resale value down the track.
All resale value on bows are not that good. It’s just the way it is. If you like it that’s all that matters.
They call this bow Slow…well it is one of the only bows this year that has gotten within 6-8 fps of their advertised IBO! None of the other bow brands come even close and i have seen them all pretty much. For example the Bowtech SR 350 does not come close: it avg. only 317fps. Matthews or hoyt not even close either. So Athens shooting very close to 340 is not a slow bow really

I have tried about every brand of bow and I can assure you the only thing that Athens lacks compared to other brands is the amount of $ they spend on marketing! They are at least equal to every other brand in tech. Not to mention they don’t grossly exaggerate all their measurements and speed like all other companies do!
Yeah, better technology like being 20fps slower than their claimed IBO. Companies that lie about the speed make me wonder what else they cut corners on this year, certainly not their profit margins! I'll be spending my money on with an honest company this year. So far Athens is looking like a solid contender.
if i you guys dont include IBO anymore than your reviews become useless. Other opinions about feel n draw are subjective but the numbers dont lie. we want to see how close to IBO the bow is. This is a good comparison to other bows.
