Brought tears to my eyes. Mike Lovatt and these musicians John Wilson has assembled are not humans, they're angels from heaven sent us as a gift. And Johnny Mandel's poignant theme will will live forever. Thank you on behalf of a grateful people.

Goosebumps ...... we need more of this . But i'm afraid the 60s are long gone as are most of the Musical Greats who composed music like this . Thank goodness the recordings are still with us .

My absolute all time favorite song. It has deep meaning for me and this version is absolutely amazing. It brings up a great deal of emotion for me and holds the memory of someone very special to me that is gone now, but this song brings him back for me. I will be adding this one to my regular play.

DO listen the Perry Como vocal version ... once again. Johnny Hartman, Earl Coleman ..=other .. topdogs. Mine #1 tune similarly .. .. .. Listen also the several interviews w J.M. What a humble, modest personality despite being in the elite of Hollyweird mid-gen composers. 1925-2020. IOW, a great down-to-earth guy.

I saw JWO at Manchester Bridgewater Hall December '18 and what an amazing night. They did this number and simply these guys/girls NEVER let you down. The standard they play to is ridiculous. JW transposing is a joy and the individual/collective is phenomenal. Long may you reign!

I loved the orchestration and of course the trumpet playing as well - absolutely top-shelf! I was stoked. For the non trumpet players out there, let me tell you it is such a mighty difficult instrument to play, and those slow lyrical melodies are hugely stressful on the system. Do you see the soloist often has his eyes closed? That's because he is ensuring that they don't pop out. I tried it for 10 years or more, and I was a plodder despite all my passion and energy.

Super playing Mike. Top c# with a felt crown on the bell not easy - have just played it through myself with such a mute and trying to make it sexy whilst pushing on this cover mute is not as easy as Mike makes it look. Sort of a relief the last bit is harmon. Think I need some keep fit to last on those longs notes also. Saw him do this at Bridgewater a short while ago - must be the best all round trumpetter in the world.
