    Boyer has always been a class act. Way back in 1970, he was kind enough to give me advice on rehab after I was injured in a rodeo. Great bodybuilder and a great guy.

    Boyer is a humble person who personifies what it means to be a champion. He has so much wisdom, gained through training, dieting and competing. Boyer lays out the facts, regardless of how others may feel, and the young people coming up in the sport would do well to learn from him.

    Boyer Coe had a fantastic looking physique. Back in the day, I bought a workout book that had him showing exercises. He was one of my favs.

    Boyer was an underrated star of the 70s and 80s. Heck, even in the 90s. I enjoyed seeing him in the Lou Ferigno comeback documentary.

      @@andrevanderbij4375 Hi Andre, Yes you are right we all get older and time goes by so fast. Interesting how most of these guys are just big in regards to their frame. I can never achieve these results and have been an athlete my whole life. But after 40 years I have come to the conclusion that being fit in every way is more important for longevity than being huge.

    • @thegefster1988
      @thegefster1988 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andrevanderbij4375 Andre, You are right on with this assessment. Enjoy working out and staying healthy. Yes, not that bad trying to put on some muscle even at my old age of 58. But I enjoy cycling such as mtbing, and gravel and I am a tennis coach and never will get huge. I say keep your workouts fun and new. Try different things and enjoy. PHA is a very good form of circuit training. You are so right about the lifestyle not being healthy unless you bodybuild with other activities and don't kill yourself by eating stupidly or with drugs to get bigger. And you are right so much is genetics

    Travelled to New Orleans back in 1979 with my Mom as a kid & went to the corner to haggle with a group of cabbies to take me to & from Boyer's gym to buy some muscle tank-tops for me & my best friend...my Mom still talks about that!!

    I saw Boyer Coe and Shawn Ray and Sandy Riddell at a Bodybuilding show here in Vancouver, B.C. in the early 1990's he was VERY cool to talk with, as was Sandy- cannot say the same thing about Shawn, he just sat behind a desk selling photos for $$ didn't want to talk with anyone...

      5 ' 8". He got under 200 lbs when he competed in the under 200 on division but he competed at well over 200 lbs from 1980 onwards.

    LMAO there wasn’t that many steroids back then. Just be honest and say the bodies in the Gold Era were built on steroids, diet and hard work instead of down playing the effects of the steroids had on their bodies.
