I have no memory of ever buying Thundercracker but he's somehow there in my display cabinet. I was rearranging it recently and he just blew my mind. I mean, I must have got him off ebay at some point, but I seriously don't remember.
Over here in Germany Thundercracker and the other seeker jets were very very hard to find. In 1985 when I started playing with TF it was nearly impossible to find figures from the previous year. Never saw Megatron, Optimus, the seeker Jets or my favorite charakter Soundwave in any toy store. (But I had a Skywarp. A friend of mine brought him back from his italy trip in the holidays). Here in Germany characters like the Dinobots (excludet swoop), the deluxe Insecticons, Stunticons and Aerialbots were widespreaded. But later in 1986 TF had become more popular to the kids. In 1989, when I was already 13 years old, the Mexican IGA Transformers came to German toy stores. I didn't care that I was already 13 years old when I finally saw figures like Thundercracker, Inferno, Optimus, Ratchet, the last three of the Constructicons that I'd never managed to find, Thrust, Astrotrain, Blitzwing, and many more figures on the shelves. It had just been my birthday and I had 450 German Marks available to buy TF with and that's what I did.
I've never owned a G1 Thundercracker, but remember in school my friend brought one to class, taunting me "I got something you don't got!" 😄 We must be getting a reissue soon. Great review!
Love Thundercracker. Never owned him though and a shame he never had his own feature episode. What a brute. Great review George. Thankyou. Peace from Perth Australia 🇦🇺.
Yeah I think they missed a few opportunities with Thundercracker and Skywarp not being featured in individual episodes. Or all three seekers on some sort of mission together.
Thundercracker was always my favorite Seeker. It was the first Decepticon I got as a kid. I have basically bought every version of Thundercracker I find, except the new 2.0 MP. I don't like how his chest does not have any color break up, and the price is just too high. I've never owned G1 Starscream. thought he looked boring in grey. Thanks for the review George. They are always a nice trip down memory lane.
Thanks ! Spoiler alert I'm doing a review for my custom Seekers after Megatron review as part of my Transformers we should have gotten in 1984 segment! And not just Decepticons so stay tuned.
@@atomD21 it's been fun for me too! I learned so much not just about Transformers but video editing and not stop-motion. And the best part is talking with other TF fans like you! Thanks for your support and enjoy.
Good review! But keep in mind that you're reading Skywarp's tech specs. Thundercracker tech specs are : 7-7-9-7-5-5-8-7. He uses his drone rockets in jet mode. & his incendiary guns in robot mode.
Glad you finally back bro! 👍🏾 I have been patiently waiting for you to get to Megatron. Megatron is my favorite G1 and been looking for a mint condition in box for years for a reasonable price.
@@slkric1724 thank you, I accidentally cut out the part with the instruction booklet and two stop-motion screens with the Diaclone Insecticons and Optimus Prime driving up. SMH
Awesome review!! Glad you're back. I love watching your G1 reviews on the weekends. It's cool that you mentioned the KO's. I actually have a loose complete white Transistor Robots Phantom F-15. It was made by a Taiwan-based toy company called Four Star(1985). They made a black Phantom F-15 too(I'd love to find one). The stop motion intro is wicked by the way. Anyways, keep up the great work!!
George is back.hopefully new videos.i went to look for a new Soundwave figure, and checked the price at Walmart,it was a ridiculous $40.not paying that much for a figure.maybe if it goes down to 20
Another great video from my fave TRANSFORMERS channel! The big question; Will you review the 1985 figures after these? I dig the cool avatar! And the stop-motion is superb as always. 👍
Hey brother. Awesome review of my favorite seeker. I love the boxes so much. I have the box for my Thundercracker as well. Cant keep staring at it lol. Amazing video review as always. You need to do a collection video bro that would be great
Long time no see missed you George 🙁 Great video lots of info and history as always. I noticed that you stored the front landing gear in the cockpit took me back as I did the same thing when I was a kid in robot mode 🤖🤖🤖Also loved the stop animation and your impressions keep up the good work 🖖🏻
Great video. I really enjoyed it. Speaking of personality, in the newer comics, Thundercracker is given a lot more of a personality. Including the thing about not really being into the Decepticon cause. He is also a recluse who avoids other Transformers and has a pet dog, who he likes better than people.
@@80sTransfromersFan LOL. His name is "Buster", and in the comics it seems like Thundercracker considers him more of a live-in partner than a pet. He cares more about the dog than he does people. It's great! It's in the IDW Transformers comics. There's a story called "Thundercracker and Buster Save the World". In the comics, after he leaves the Decepticons he decides he wants to be a writer and writes really bad fiction. I know it sounds dumb, but it's actually pretty hilarious. He's one of the best characters in the IDW-verse... Hey, really liked your video today! I always enjoy hearing all the intricate details and background that you researched out. Plus seeing cool stuff from your collection!
I wish they'd finally release Hotlink, Acid Storm, Nacelle & Red Wing versions of this mold. Hasbro doesn't seem to understand that'd easily ensure a whole lot of coin flooding their pockets.
People, if you really want a G1 reissue Thundercracker, go w Takara. I got Hasbro and just for the fact that the cockpit is not the same it pisses me the f off . Peace ☆

I've purchased transformers for a second time after seeing them for a great price, not remembering I had them in my collection already.

I don't know if I can stand any more US jet reissues with those giant missiles. And thanks for sharing the memories ever though the kid was not cool.
Thundercracker is my favorite Decepticon. His Armada toy was actually the first Transformer I ever got.
All that stuff you said about thunder cracker ... made him my fave seeker ... he was also the first one I got when I started my adult collection

It’s nice to see you and these back. Didn’t notice the vintage one having that shimmery effect on the plastic until now.
Thanks! I'm back and working. Videos incoming.
