      It wasn't THAT deadly (depend on the variant). And depend on the place, most people I know had contacted it at least once, and medicine is readily available. I can imagine it is more deadly for non native people though.
      Malaria aside, dengue fever is more of an issue at the moment. Both are transmitted by mosquitos

    Ive had malaria 3 times and I was miserable. Feeling tired, bacl ache, then the fever hits. Hot and sweaty for hours, then the bone shaking chills start. Youre body is 104 degrees but you pile on the blankets anyways. It feels like youll never get warm. No energy to do anything, forget eating just want to drink. Taking an antimalarial right away is vital. Take a preventive every day and a treatment when you feel ill. If you dont you can get cerebral malaria. I helped airlift an expat to the capitol when he got this. Had to be hospitalized. Poor guy was all alone out in a rural setting, his wife and kids were gone. So happy I felt compelled to go check on him. He could have died. Malaria was once endemic to America until they had a mosquito eradication program. They sprayed them into extinction.

    • @akul7359
      @akul7359 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not really see malaria doesn't affect the mosquito as it is the primary host and we humans are more like the secondary hosts. They remain docile in their salivary glands and then when into us destroy our Rbc.
