MediumRare but you can still keep going when the light is yellow, if it turns red while you’re in the Intersection you can keep going, the yellow light means you should slow down and prepare to break
I ride a Harley davidson, and as a rider you should be able to tell when you have enough space to lane split, and when you do, make sure you are driving are a reasonable pace. Driving at 100km/h is going to get you killed. It should be 20km faster than the traffic at max. I also recommend staying away from lane splitting in moving traffic unless cars visibly move to let you pass, which some cars are fucking amazing and do so. Respect the cars and they will respect you.

Here in the UK it's still a grey area, but the rule of thumb is not going more than 5mph faster than the traffic, providing you also don't exceed 30mph while doing so. That's the easiest way to stay safe I think

As a fellow rider I can tell you this; to all the lane splitters, it is your fault, not the driver of the cars. Lane splitting is dangerous, and videos like this are clear evidence. So, just don't do it.
Gotta do it in LA man. Otherwise a 2 mile, 5 minute drive is a 30-60 minute drive. I only lane split with slower/stopped traffic tho

Actually the law is if you are in an intersection while the light is red, for any reason, you could be ticketed or found at fault. At least in my state.

if you have to speed up to make it through the light, you've violated traffic law. You can proceed through if you already were traveling at the time of yellow, but if its yellow and you increase speed in order to make it, its running a red light.

At least in California if you are already past the white line that your supposed to stop at when the light turns red it is not running a red light. Obviously if you increase speed to get to that point or are speeding through, different story. But it looks like the bus was actually in the clear. Yellow is a warning stop soon it is not a red light. If it is yellow and you aren't to the intersection yet you can still go as long as it is not red when you enter the intersection.

It's legal where he's at and it's also been shown to decrease the rate of motorcyclist injuries. If you're curious look a study that UC Berkeley did called Motorcycle Lane Splitting and Safety in 2015. (No hate)
