hi, Im trying to export a model from blender or glb into PMX to do the rigging there so the model itself doesn´t have any form of rigging I can or cannot do that?
I don't know if you cover this in the longform video version of this tutorial, but is it possible to do the reverse of this? As in converting a 3D Model from a PMX file into Blender for editing? I've looked this up but everything I find is about Blender -> PMX Editor and not the other way around. There are models I've downloaded as PMX files that I want to edit the 3D model itself of and you said in an old tutorial that making models in Blender is easier, I figure model editing would be too
@@pundesune You can just use the MMD plugin, no need for the Cats plugin cause the MMD plugin alone imports and exports pmx files. All Cats does is shove the MMD plugin into their plugin for those converting MMD for VRChat usage originally. I only said I would make a video version in case out of preference but with applying knowledge it's pretty self explainatory the MMD plugin can import pmx to Blender easily.
This tutorial is a remake of this tutorial (th-cam.com/video/4UHY7tdzmUY/w-d-xo.html which is now outdated) due to people getting confused on how to connect the model to the MMD Plugin's empty object. I recommend please watch the full version for a more in-depth explanation of the basic workflow: th-cam.com/video/9iiLB1evuMI/w-d-xo.html
Idk if this is my mistake or it's just the model i chose but when i export it to pmx editor the model is HUGE, it's not that the file is too heavy but that the model looks gigantic
I never had that error before, make sure the model isn't using Rigify, Auto Rig Pro, or has the look where the rig looks overly complicated with shapes.
Depends on what version you are using with the MMD plugin. The MMD plugin did got a proper 4.1 update so you can use the newest version of Blender with the MMD plugin. If you needs CATS Blender Tool then stay Blender 3.6.
Make sure you're on Blender 4.2 and you updated the MMD addon, I'm not exactly sure as every model's issue is a case by case basis so you could report the issue to the dev which they have a Discord server you can join: discord.gg/zRgUkuaPWw
I recommend watching the full version of this tutorial: th-cam.com/video/9iiLB1evuMI/w-d-xo.html Make sure any png images for the textures are next to the pmx file and that you assign it properly.
Hi whenever i delete the armature it just deletes the folder all togetherness so i cant add anything to the empty object. Is there something i did wrong? 😭😭 idk why it keeps deleting
@gabriel9116j Try redownloading the plugin: github.com/UuuNyaa/blender_mmd_tools/releases/download/v2.10.3/mmd_tools-v2.10.3.zip Otherwise you may need to update your Blender and use extensions to make the MMD plugin work.

Give me some time and I'll make a reverse version.

I keep getting this error "'editbone' has no attribute 'layers'" when trying to export :(

is there a specific version that particularly works/you'd recommend me using? (I know for a fact 4.0 is completely out of the question but still)

When I export things to mmd, the order of my bones gets all messed up. is there a way to stop that?
@@ShinOpaque Sadly you have to manually fix the bone order in PMX Editor unless you have way too many incorrect parent to child connection per bone.
i selected the material thing during export and it still doesnt have a texture when i open it in MMD? what am i missing XD

You can leave the small bone there as is, as long as you get the model in PMX Editor you can modify the rig to work with MMD and be clean.
@Kana_Fuyuko thank you I will try that now!

Did you downloaded the MMD plugin in the description? What version of Blender?
@@Kana_Fuyuko yes. Blender 3.6
