- Kicking off the first episode of "ETS2 Mod Reviews" with a look at the BDF Tandem Truck Pack v15.0. This pack contains 11 standalone trucks with a BDF tandem as well as tandem cargo to haul.

This mod was reviewed and tested on ETS2 version 1.8.2
As shown in the video, to drive these trucks you need to go to your favorite truck dealer and upgrade the chassis. To access the tandem cargo sleep once or twice in the game to allow the jobs to come through. This trailer will let you haul about 22 different cargo types from 18t to 25t.

Short and to the point but very detailed, fully explained the complexities of the mod.
The nice thing about tandems (especially log trucks) is that they don't need a trailer for half loads.
When I used this mod, the 8x4 chassis kept getting me with the rear steering, I kept turning before, so I think 6x4 tandem is for me. :P

- and what i specially like about this Tandem-mod is yer can change back to stand-alone and do some stand-alone transport - and then go back to tandem, thats a cool thing and inspires me to take a tandem mod into my game - and maybe have drivers there are driving both types random, that would be awesome.

-Version 19.0 includes Cistern (Tanker) containers
-There is a black WoT skin if you don't like blue
-There is also an addon to the Tandem mod that allows all trailer types (Box,Tanker) to be pulled in combination, or alone
In the real world the pup (back) trailer would just be unhooked at the destination and NOT backed up for obvious reasons.
why would it not be reversed, how will you get it t othe loading dock then. they get reversed all the time. it's a single turning point which means it drives backwards the SAME as a normal trailer. you also have tandem trailers with 2 turning points and those are also reversed into the loading docks in europe
I like the rear wheel steering on the truck works really good
I've been running this mod for a while, have to say it's one of the best mods I've used!
Not an bad idea with mod reviews altrough i largely miss your twitch videos on youtube... i do off course mean when you did trips with TSM, ProMods etc. Please do more of these!
Glad to find this video because I had downloaded the trailer mod and could not figure out how to get my truck to hook up to it or get the correct vehicle. Thanks for posting and keep up the good work. Happy New Year as well.
This is very good mod,because in Finland we have lots of tandem trailers.
It dose exsist a newer version of this mod, its added a tanker and a tanker tandem trailer. Like instead of having the boxe on the truck, you can add a tanker instead. But i like this video, keep going with the review videos!
Watching your BDF Tandem Truck review, it looks like a lot of fun to drive. I for one don't have ETS2 as of yet... Perhaps next weekend. I have to say that between you and Jamin000, you two have corrupted me enough into liking the game over the past couple of weeks. So much so, that I think I'll get it and try it out. For years, I've been running flight Sims, from FS-98 up to FSX, and now have Microsoft Train Simulator and Trainz RS 2006. Did have Trainz 2012, but it fouled up. Oh well! Anyway, keep up the good work on your vids, and happy trucking!

Nice idea on the series for mods. One I would like to see is to do with traffic and environment, as the traffic lights work as such it would be cool to see a pedestrian mod allowing for people on crosswalks which therefore you would have to yield or stop and a fine could be implemented if you run through. Keep up the good work.

been waiting for a mod like this! epic! the only thing that i would love to see is a stearing axel in the back so the actual cargo and follow your movement, looks and feels alot better with it i reckon. besides that an epic mod and epic review as always. happy trucking/flight paul! :D

Still has the front axle sag as the older BDF's. A bit daft if any minus points should be given.

So hoping for a Scandinavian full size drawbar trailer. Guess it's not happening anytime soon :(

Almost 2020 and there still aren’t any tandem trucks in the base game.
The trailer at the back seems to lift up at the articulation point, as if it were extremely heavy at the back and light at the front.

Cool mod, this kind of trailer setup is very common in Australia. I've rarely seen a single trailer on a truck here.
Same here in finland but there the trailer is muuuuch longer than this mod has. :) but there is these ets2's normal trailer trucks also
It's not how we do it in the States. But, then again, the way we do it here is pretty retarded. They whack a second trailer onto the back of the first so suddenly you got two articulation points. At least this mod's way of doing it makes a little more sense, one articulation point even if it's moved back a little.
Yes they are, but a neat Australian mod would be, what we call in Australia a
B-Double. Essentially two full length trailer chassis's but the front trailer has a deck or tautliner that is around 20 to 30 feet long and has a horseshoe (like on the back of the Prime Mover (tractor or lorry for you Squirrel ;) ) that is over the axles on the trailer this then hitches to a standard 41' trailer. You end up with two articulation points (one on the Truck and a second over the rear axles on the first trailer) Also the axles on trucks here (due to the road curve radius) are at the rear of the trailer.
Another adaption is the Road Trains, this uses what we call a Dog or Dolly, all it is is a tandem set of axles with a drawbar at the front and a horseshoe on the top to then hitch together as many trailers as you can haul, usually limited to 5 trailers maximum as the rear trailer tends to swing quite a lot with very minimal inputs to the steering, you have to see it to believe it.

Cool new series! One note, you shouldn't stick to episode numbers, feels weird. Part numbers at most in case one mods takes more then 10 minutes.

How often do you plan to upload mod review videos? I very much like the idea as I am not always sure what I get into with different mods and although I backup my save game I still like to be informed. Seeing that you use many mods in your game and that you have started reviews might make decision making a bit easier for me when it comes to putting mods in.
Why do you keep using the blinkers in the roundabouts, you only should use them when exiting it...

I have this mod, I use a Volvo FH 16. This mod works great in TSM, I have not tried it in Promod's as of yet. I will very soon.

No it's not out, this truck is a mod, he try out and we still don't know when patch 1,9 comes out. We are all waiting for it and hope it will be soon.

Dan Yea they do, becouse we can't wait for it to come out, But i know they Test and test it. And my guess is that they want it to be perfect before they send it out. Becouse and that is only a guess from me they will use it in American Truck Simulator, so they don't have to make two version of the AI.
How do you move visual? I use FaceTrackNoIR, but your movements seems more smooth ;)

Squirrel, this was a good video but I thought that it could use a bit better structure for example you could make a slide that shows what part of the show case you are about to do.

Its a great mod to have
i really like this mod. already using it. but think maybe i had an earlier version not sure. people who keep finding mods that dont work you need to try turning other mods off. try different mods and see what works and what doesnt work together before asking why things dont work. kinda need to do some work on it yourself others cant help when they dont know what mods your using together they dont all work together. thats the thing with modding you have to put a little more thinking into it.
