  • Our first engine mod of many to come is obviously an intake! One of the simplest upgrades you can manage quite cost effectively and install yourself! With preparation for our upcoming visit to the tuners we needed to start slapping some upgrades on! Hope you enjoy!

    Any update on that noise? Did your D.v. go or did your already have the Dv+?

    • @ThatGuyTyy
      @ThatGuyTyy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I upgraded the DV to a DV+ but it didn’t really make a difference, i think it could just be the design of the intake as the turbo is in good condition and we have no boost leaks, hope that helps!

    What is the intake model? I can't find the one for the 2011 a3 8p. Previous years have the sensor connector in a different place

      @brandoalexisdavalos1049 so apparently the 2011 like mine is not a tfsi even tho it says so on the engine cover, you have to get parts as if was a tsi. So a tsi Cai would fit perfectly

    Nice video!! i bought the same intake for my 8p (although it's a different engine CDAA 1.8 tfsi) and on cold mornings the check engine goes beserk and the car runs very rough, once the engine gets to optimal tempeture everything runs normal. Try cleaning the MAF and rework the installation but the problem remains. Could you give me some advice on this???

    • @Washonico
      @Washonico ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alexnazimek sadly no. I've change coils and sparkplugs and only made it a bit better. Next week I'll get the throttle body and injectors cleaned, because as the previous commentator said, it might be a bad case of carbon deposits.

    Can this intake be installed on a 06 8p or does ur mass air flow sensor have a different connection

    • @ThatGuyTyy
      @ThatGuyTyy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The fsi engines have the mass air flow sensor at the back and the tsi engine have the mass air flow sensor at the front/ side like the one in the Video

    Hello mate ! Nice video and nice car !! just wanted to ask you if an intake like this is worth on a 1.6 fsi engine... Looking for a better sound and maybe some extra ponies 😂 I would also like to know if there are any issues after the installation

    • @ThatGuyTyy
      @ThatGuyTyy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn’t bother even on a 2.0 after learning what I know now - the sound is good and it’s fun, however for performance the stock intake is way better because it has Lower IAT’s than an open box like the one I installed

    • @rudeboyiramo
      @rudeboyiramo ปีที่แล้ว

      If you get a full performance induction kit with a proper cold intake cooling system you gain HP and sound regardless what car you use. If you use a open cone air filter you will get heat soak and lose power. On a bigger engine you get more gains especially on a turbo car also if your On a budget a panel performance air filter is your best bet for small increase, I recommend K&N

    I have a 8PA 1.8TFSI 2009 Default 160 horsepower. I have catless downpipe only one muffler in the end, KGN bobines, K&N open air filter, and Stage 2 + DSG. 275 Horsepower.
    That sound on 11:23 - 11:25 have the same sound. It goes away and comes back with pressure when I full throttle, I do not know what it is. Turbo it self I think. Who know, let it know please.
    Change almost everything on this car. DSG, injectors, spark plugs, ignition coils, fuel pump, high pressure fuel pump, timing chain, and trottle body.
    Since the beginning had always a bad coldstart from 1100rpm to 900rpm and sometimes 800rpm and to 1100rpm. And in 10 seconds goes to 900rpm stationary. When I drive in the morning when the motor is still cold, it shakes or hiccups a little. but when it comes to temperature I don't have that anymore.
    Recently got a EPC on and that was my trottle body because the bad sensor. Know I changed my trottle body by myself while the motor was at a little temperature. After that it started perfectly on 900rpm, it always did when the motor is on temperature. Then drove a bit and no problem, drives good.
    Then.. in the morning... Car starts very bad, it starts but dies. it starts but dies.
    I have to give it a little throttle to 1300rpm and it goes up and down up and down for 10 seconds and then idles stationary. But again when I drive in the morning when the motor is still cold, it shakes or hiccups a little. but when it comes to temperature I don't have that anymore.
    When its on temperature I can drive verry crazy with this car. No problem..
    is there anyone who might be able to help me?
    Thanks & Regards

      Have u checked intake valves? My a3 misfired like crazy every cold start due to the carbon deposits on the intake valves. Cleaned them, and now it purrs even on cold starts
