If they were both feature complete, gold standard, I'd go with the Carrack. Given how things will probably be released, the Galaxy will most likely be better for a while after it drops.
Ultimately agree with your statement here. For me I went Galaxy based on exploration not being my primary focus and the layout of the Galaxy. I believe it will be easier to fly and more efficient to traverse the interior. Looking purely stat for stat then of course the carrack takes the win.
I have a Carrack Expedition. and I HOPE they actually make it more special than just a white Paint. I LOVE my Carrack. I almost passed on it because it went from $400 to $500, but just then I happened to watch Prometheus. and I was like ITS THE CARRACK. GIB CARRACK.
I actually looked at both ships and chose the Galaxy because of it's flexibility. Most people do not use ships exclusively based on their role alone because as humans we make things work where we need it. Purchases for me are based on my gameplay loop which will be cargo hauling, mining and base building
I don't think there will be any modules until 1.0 or later. They have to address the endeavor when they work on modules and it's not a function they have made yet
Pioneer will be good but it's huge def Xtra large or cap, these are gonna be smaller, like large. In my opinion we need a few more each size class like this
I thought the comparison was not bad. polaris and odyssey does share alot of use case. these are multi role ships. not single role, you can compare them and they are comparable. the hangar size is the same. so we can ignore that. I think the carrack will have science module and there is like a module for capturing animals. I like the carrack because it is great for FPS missions, repair, heal, scout and it is small enough to land comparing to large capital ships. cons: 4 size 4 turret seems just enough, the combat ability for carrack is very minimum but the galaxy you have to change modules. you cant have tier 2 med bay and 450ish cargo at the same time. also I dont think tier 1 med bay will be needed as often. for galaxy you either have 580ish scu of cargo and a tier 3 medbay in the hanger or a tier one medbad or very small cargo space. I think a better comparison is carrack vs caterpillar.
@@ZyvhurStudios yeah, me too. CIG says it will have all the original concepted module. which means: medical, work shop, salvage, drop ship, Armory. I dont know if there is a store module. and also they said there is like a boarding module in the front for launching people to another ship. maybe that is a joke, it going to be a great planet side industry ship.
Galaxy had potential before T1 beds lost the exclusive rez… base building module got delayed for the Starlancer BLD…. cargo module not on by default…. Refinery well that’s fine I guess for now… Side turrets not top/bottom…. I wanted to love this Dorito but no longer! I’ll pay someone scraps to use theirs or earn in game.
i think now currently the comparison is not there but there is a good possibility that these 2 modular ships can easily overlap because 3 carrack modules combined is about the size of a galaxy module and i think it best if carrack makes modules they each come in full size not broken into 3 sections... a carrack is a tad bit OP in its abilities but i think we are far away from working drones so the galaxy will likely be more effective for at least 1 year sooner than the carrack... my most hated comparison is the carrack odyssey!!! these 2 ships chare a ship class but do nearly nothing the same.... the carrack was designed to be the games biggest best intel and recon ship.... unparalleled mapping but the ships that closest resemble the carracks primary function is the MSR or the tracker or the herrold all ships in game can do what a carack specializes in but a carrack can do it system wide and ideas may suggest even adjacent systems thanks to drones being piloted could likely travel wormholes. speculation and theory crafting a carrack is not the answer to all needs but i cant think of a better ship that does more unless fear of attack!!! if you fear an attack a carrack is one of the worst ships!!!! if you fear a threat scouting with a herold becomes the meta... big ships and lots of hit points is sure to be caught by a mantis and a mantis assures large ships death as a mantis means assault is on way!!! you better have crew and skill if but mostly escort fleet if you wanna fly big ships
the carrack will come stock with probe and scan drones you can launch them to find hiding assets across the system i believe they are swappable because i think they mentioned mini attack drones with a pair of size 2 guns each drone so since it is swappable then maybe it will be able to repair refuel and or mine or build. i love big ships and a carrack has 4 decks making it much larger inside compared to its exterior. i think asside to the good looks of the pizza slice look of the galaxy it will lose a ton of space to its angular design you can fit more rooms in a smaller box than you can fit in a larger wedge shape... so for me i prefer the shape of a ironclad because a ship like the ironclad could have capital ship class real-estate in its small form. get so many laughs when players are asking me for help they are lost hahahaha

That was a fun video! Would you do one on the Zeus CL v. Freelancer MAX?
Oh yeah that's a great suggestion!
I recently upgraded/melted my way to the Galaxy for $400. I'm enjoying the Carrack while I wait. Best of both worlds!
Yep its a great loaner lol
I just want my galaxy 😭
Me too
Me tooo!

Yeah, the Carrack is an amazing ship! :)
@@ZyvhurStudios and MINE has a Great Name: Victorious Secret. (Victoria's secret)
@@gergenskits3940 lol oh that's good
The carrack could honestly be the best in the game if fully realized but I like the galaxy for it’s design more
72 likes! Good job!
Your definition and my definition of "spicey" are quite different.

Yes exactly! :)
I have Carrack, cause I wanna do some exploration gameplay. I wanna find caves in Pyro and such.
Minimum Crew requirement is a big difference between these two ships. And the carrak needs a "military pass" for its components, more redundancy.
I agree!
I don't think there will be any modules until 1.0 or later. They have to address the endeavor when they work on modules and it's not a function they have made yet
They only have it working on the retaliator so far
Modules as a feature are already in. Galaxy will have modules on release.
Kawok for the win!
If the Sabre Peregrino (I am misspelling it on purpose) doesn't have any weapons, why does any other racing ship?
I know lol CIG actually just didn't want to balance it for combat XD
I have a Carrack, debated about getting an Odyssey but low key wondering if my Pioneer is actually going to be the best large/ cap explorer....
Pioneer will be good but it's huge def Xtra large or cap, these are gonna be smaller, like large. In my opinion we need a few more each size class like this
The Pioneer will be the real money maker of the two
