- Today I test drove the 2020 CT6-V Blackwing! This CT6-V comes in pearl white on jet black perforated leather. The 4.2L V8 twin turbo charged engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The car also comes with High-performance Brembo brakes and magnetic ride control. When in Track Mode, the mechanical limited-slip rear differential helps rocket this CT6-V from 0-60MPH in 3.8 seconds.

I waited for nearly a year for mine to arrive - it was the wait. I’ve had the car since Thanksgiving 2019. COVID has kept driving down - only 8,300 miles.

I am going to buy a CT6-V Blackwing around 2024.
Sadly the CT6-V has been discontinued after one year and the CT6 is no longer offered in the US. However they are making a CT4-V Blackwing with the Twin Turbo V6 from the CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing with the Blackwing V8.

Maybe the CT6 would have sold more if it looked like this when it was introduced and offered a V8. The refresh made this car look bad ass. Too bad they are discontinued such a shame

CT6 is not discontinued, they are finding a new factory to build it in. Impala/XTS/Lacrosse were axed. GM already has said that it was a mistake in that press release and the CT6 will stay in production.

dick van niggz yours is the only smart comment so I’ll respond. 3 years ago, I owned a 2008 M6 (same engine as the M5 which I’m sure you knew). I thought I hit the jackpot when I picked it up for $20k. 24 year old me with a V10 touring coupe. Couldn’t tell me nothing. However, after a year of ownership and close to $10k in repairs I realized it wasn’t worth it. Though I do still miss the howl of that V10, I’m much happier with my 2011 Z06 now. Far more reliable, though less luxurious, and much faster.

The engine was revolutionary because of its hot Vee twin turbo setup. This challenged the advantages of superchargers because the hot Vee configuration reduced air travel distances from the turbo to the engine. This means virtually no lag. Unfortunately the hot Vee type is expensive to manufacture and Cadillac had to discontinue it due to poor sales.
The car literally sold out, right from production. I'm not sure why people keep spreading that lie..it was a limited production.

I have a feeling the bad interior is why it didn't sell well. I personally don't care especially with that v8. However so many reviewers compared it to the 7 series, g90 genesis and Mercedes S class and they were let down that it doesn't even have soft closing doors. I'm only let down the fact it has no 6 speed manual. I was hoping they just ripped one out of their Camaro.

I hope they start to release them in Australia to replace the Holden Commodore as I think that I might be able to afford one of them in the next couple of years.
The only thing that I'm sceptical of is the turbochargers crapping themselves which can cost a fortune to fix, I was also exhausted from the turbo scene in Australia when the big rave was on about having the "horsepower bug" where people who owned a turbocharged RB series Nissan 6 cylinder powered Holden VL Commodore or Nissan Skyline had an insatiable appetite for getting more horsepower out of an engine which was no bigger than 3 litres.
I got pissed off by people who would hit a 200 kilowatt ceiling with their Nissan RB30ET engine then they would spend another $10K AUD (at least) on forcing 500 horsepower out of a 3 litre engine,some of the Japanese would spend over $20K in forcing 1000 horsepower out of a Nissan RB26DETT so I'm pissed off because I kept on hearing "turbo this" & "turbo that" & I couldn't work out why I was always jobless & broke.
Yet when I manage to get 50% more horsepower out of a naturally aspirated Nissan RB30 by topping it off with the 24 valve RB25 cylinder head they don't like me,when I buy a 5.7 litre Chevrolet LS1 V8 powered 2002 Holden Commodore which has been tuned to L76 power (276 kilowatts) in Australia they act like no one wants to know me.
When I fit a set Genie headers,a high flow twin 2.5 inch exhaust system & it's been tuned up to put out 300 kilowatts both the Commodore gets scrapped & so does the Holden name.
What have I done wrong in Australia for so many of even a Holden to hate a Holden such as myself ?

Not a fan of these cars at all. Cadillacs biggest mistake was discontinuing the ATS and especially the CTS. The CT4,5,6 look like they were designed by 60+year old men.....whatever younger market Cadillac was trying to compete with bmw,Mercedes, Audi is completely gone for them. Must be some legacy directors at GM making these calls or something but it’s a shame. A new f150 has twice the interior technology and style of any of these new Cadillac cars....who in their right mind would pay almost 100k for one of these cars, you can get a used 911 for those prices. Smh
I’m 18 and personally love Cadillacs because of how classy they look and everyone who gets into my car loves it especially the platinum edition, and when someone crashes into at over 100 miles an hour when your going 60 the car barley moves and doors everything else hold up on the inside perfectly very safe reliable fast cars, with a classic classy look .

I'm sorry but this caddy doesn't represent the Black Wing nameplate like it should!! Look at BMW Alpina version or AMG series for aesthetics & how it instantly stands out from the rest! It just doesn't look like the name behind it for the price! Nothing special inside to differentiate it from the regular model! No aggressive bolstering no suede or alcantara accents,no colored stitching to give it that I paid 100grand type visual! Best part is the engine but you don't drive around with the hood open do ya!! C'mon Cadillac stop skimping on the pimpin this vehicle deserved better!!
