We need to realize that even teacher needs to struggle and practicing a lot and spending time to improve our skill to teach them precisely. I'm inspired that I need to take time on what do you need to learn your favorite thing. You are the first teacher to teach me actually by watching your tutorials. Thanks Dave, I'm celebrating my 1 and a half of progress now. :)

1 and a half years is about the time I committed to learning this song, it was so fun because I have long enough fingers to use my thumb the entire song. Anyways, It took me only two days to learn it and master it but both those days a practiced for 8 hours each just on this song! I was a little obsessed

Watched Paul Davids demonstrate this and now Dave, you know you say that is it not as difficult as it may seem but seeing two of the most talented and devoted guitarists on TH-cam spend so much time simply blows my mind. As if I feel like there is some distinction I need to pass before being eligible to try this. But thanks to both of you, I'll get there one day and your tutorial will be the only thing I'll need. Still would watch the tutorial as soon as available. Thank you so much, you're incredible. Extremely thankful that you upload on TH-cam and share your unparalleled talent. Thanks again.

Alright so hear me out y'all, cuz I could be wrong
I've watched that tiktok hundreds of times because that muted sound is so percussive and sharp, and I couldn't figure out where the higher pitch part of that 'one smooth roll' is. What I've found to give the closest result is nail attack.
He's so smooth with the down-up-down-up pattern, and its on the downs where you hear that really sharp muted 'chck' kinda noise. The best way to get that: while you hit the low note with your thumb, you also hit the A-string with muted nail attack on the same downstroke, giving it a kind of snare drum type of sound. You can add other fingers if it helps, but that seems to be the best way to get that noise for me

Hey! Just want to say, you've done a great job with this. There's a slight mistake with the main riff, though, and depending how you feel about it, might make it easier to play. The bass line, rather than moving up constantly, drops back down to the open string before moving to the new chord. It gives me a little time to move my hand to the new position. Fantastic work though my man!
Edit: sorry dude, I just realised you corrected this for the performance and lesson!

Im glad he mentioned the calluses part. It took me 5 days to get the rift down but man my fingers hurt so bad. I some have calluses on my left index finger too rip. Pray for me im going to try to tackle the intro and solo.

I practiced the main riff a lot, and after that I my little skin in my index finger at the back of my fingernail blackend a bit and bled. That's what hours of practice tastes like!

It's kinda weird to see one of my idols having trouble learning a song, hard work is the only way to succes, it sounds really cool at the end tho. thanks for all your lessons and the motivation you gave me!
