I am a high schoo student in Japan.I am sorry if my writing is strange. I found this video by chance, and it made me impressed. I couldn't stop crying because his singing voice was so nice. I am not able to understand all of the lyrics, but I understand "I honestly love you." Whenever I listen to this phrase,I can't help crying. I want to understand all of the lyrics someday!
Hugh would always cry during this song, which you could see very well from the first few rows. I was always amazed at how he made it so real at every performance. This whole part of the show was very emotional, talking about Greg's death, Peter having AIDS, etc. Seeing this show and being an "Ozalot" was (so far) the best theater/fan experience of my life. And I have to throw in a plug here for Hugh's new show "Hugh Jackman - Back on Broadway". If you can possibly see it, you need to!
To those that are scared to tell someone how you feel about them, tell them because the next day they could be gone and you will always regreat what might have been. This song hits home to me..I loved two people and both times I didn't know until after they passed away that they both loved me. That is something I will always regreat. Now instead of having mamories of our time together, I will always wonder what might have happened if given the chance. Take your chance you will never know
I so adore Jarrod's rendition of this song... it's so emotional and beautiful. Wish they would have released a film of the show... saw it three times and it was brilliant!!
I was scolling and saw this, Jarrod is FANTASTIC!! I raised my children in Oral, SD where he's from and carpooled to work with his mom! I got to meet him and get his autograph...he's a very kind young man...I moved back to Oklahoma and I HAD to tell the man that I've loved forever, just how much....we're a couple now 2 years later and I've never regretted telling him
The guy Im in love with with told me he wanted to sing this song...unfortunatley not to me. It's funny cause...the one musical phrase that's been playing in my head for years was "I love you"...I never really knew where it came from until I heard this song. This song is everything I'm feeling...it's just weird that he was the one to finally point me in the direction of where that phrase came from...but we're just friends and thats cool.
@debbiedavis1951 I saw it live 3 times .. I still cry at this song.. I think becouse it is what we wish we could say to those we love but sometimes we just don't.. I am even crying now watching it..
Well unless you are actually going to see the show (which is now off Broadway) this is the only way you would find out.. - these clips only show bits of it, and I was very glad to find out what was going on -(Of course, if you know about Peter Allen's life you would know it too...) But knowing made me see the video in a whole new light!! But sorry for spoiling it for you!! XXX
@Cavillier1970 Awww that was lovely and sad all in one. I believe you will find some one too. I am 23 24 in May even I feel some times I will not find any one. This song also hurts for Greg is dead singing this to Peter.I have some one who I have loved since I was younger haven't told the person it makes me think will it take death for me to say it ? It's crazy how the ones you really should tell how you feel you can't .The ones you can end up hurting you. My heart knows who I mean. Love Is Love
@stardel6 I agree that it is out there. I mean my parents have been married for 47 years, my brother married 5 years ago to the girl he dated in high school, broke up with and got back together with years later. I know things like this are possible, but sometimes I think I'm not meant to be that lucky. Theres a tagline from the movie Darkman I always felt fit me perfectly. "In the darkest hour a light will shine on every human, but one." I dont feel sorry for myself, it maybe my fate.
Absolutely beautiful. I don't care what anyone else has to say. Do you have to be Caruso or Pavarotti in order to touch the heart strings? Actually, the more professional, the less soul. Give me gut over range any day....
@Cavillier1970 Maybe the hardness is what makes it so powerful when we do have love in our lifes or maybe I just believe wonderfuly romantic love is real and hope to have it one day
We never said he wasn't. We know he's dead!! Thats how he can come back to dying Peter and express what he never could in life because of the horrid homophobia and prejudice of the society at the time...
@stardel6 I told the woman I loved those words, and took that leap of faith. And I crashed like a drunk turkey into theground and it blew up in my face badly. I wish I kept my mouth shut at least I'd stillhave my best friend.

This line: You don't have to answer, I see it in your eyes; maybe it was better left unsaid. 😭
If I remember correctly, Hugh sheds real tears at the end of this song each time I saw the show. Very moving........

The quality of Jarrod's voice is astounding. Just.. Wow. *happy tears*

I just watched this in 2018!.. OMG! that moved me and lead me to tears! 😭.
I never knew Hugh Jackman always was a theatrical guy! 👍👏
This was beautifully sung, beautifully staged and beautifully acted by both performers.
If I can get thru this song without crying, I will be singing it!
This version of the song makes me cry every time I watch it... amazing and truly magical!
jarrod's voice is so plaintive in this, it really stricks a nerve.. I know it's a show but this song rings of sincerity
That was beautiful.
It touched me REALLY DEEP. And I can't stop criying right now!!! Thanks for sharing this.
just stumbled on this while browsing... never cried for a long time reminding me of an affair long long ago... somehow similar to this scene....

Wow, so moving. Blew me away!
o m g i am nearly in tears i honestly think is could possibly be one of the most touching moments of musical theatre i have ever seen!
cry cry cry..absolutely beautiful

Jarrod's voice is beautiful, absolutely angelic (which is appropriate since his character is a ghost at this point). Such a great show!
Man, I remember ME singing "I honestly love you" to Hugh - in my dreams...
This feels like the gay version of unchained melody in the movie Ghost. T_T
wow i didnt expect that at all. im sad i missed this on broadway.
It was great! Unbelievable performance by Jackman
I love the southern twist he put into the song. They are such a cute couple!
I know they did an Australian TV movie which I haven't seen and this stage show but songs
this good deserve a massive technicolour blockbuster movie
i just honestly love this!
@debbiedavis1951 I saw it live 3 times .. I still cry at this song.. I think becouse it is what we wish we could say to those we love but sometimes we just don't.. I am even crying now watching it..
Hugh needs to bring this back but to the Big Screen!
Best version of this song is Peter's own on the live, "It's Time for Peter Allen".
Such a beautiful song, and sung so beautifully.
beautiful
Holy Shit!! It actually made me cry. Its awesome. ♥
Wow; that's lovely. I like it when a man does this song. :)
Yes, saw it LIVE incrediblie!
1 person is from the Westboro Baptist Church.
OMG I LOVE IT *sob* *sob* SOOOB
it still makes me cry!
I just want to give Hugh a big hug! He looks so sad! :(
Incredibly gorgeous......
Beautiful.

Showstopper! Tears...
It hit a nerve, good or not I'm glad he did it and I liked it.
@QonOUTview same here did you see it live if you did you were like me balling your eyes out
Absolutely beautiful. I don't care what anyone else has to say. Do you have to be Caruso or Pavarotti in order to touch the heart strings? Actually, the more professional, the less soul. Give me gut over range any day....
@xxkmsmilesxx Jarrod is a dream come true!
You are so wrong! It is in a different key from what you have heard before. He is perfectly on pitch
sorry memories
@Cavillier1970 Maybe the hardness is what makes it so powerful when we do have love in our lifes or maybe I just believe wonderfuly romantic love is real and hope to have it one day
another place and time...not enough time for mine. wonder if this would have helped enough to prevent a suicide?
i thought it was beautiful and touching but i agree, the guy in the white was singing flat. but it's live theatre and that can happen.
@Cavillier1970 Awww I would love some one to say words like this to me.. Why dose love have to be so hard some times??
@stardel6 I wish I had the answer to that question.
We never said he wasn't. We know he's dead!! Thats how he can come back to dying Peter and express what he never could in life because of the horrid homophobia and prejudice of the society at the time...
its sad because greg is dead in the play at this time
he's just freestyling... Elvis did it!
:-D
ummm.. no he's not.. like at all.. are you perhaps not recognizing that its in a different key than the original key of the piece?
Huge what ?
Wow. This performance gave new life to that corny old 70s Newton-John pop song.
Shut up!
@stardel6 I told the woman I loved those words, and took that leap of faith. And I crashed like a drunk turkey into theground and it blew up in my face badly. I wish I kept my mouth shut at least I'd stillhave my best friend.
Hugh's? Not so.
I like this but the guy in white is really flat! :( x
Oh, wow they were supposed to be in a relationship? ...I thought Peter Allen was married to Liza Minnelli in this
I'm sorry. But I really hate the way they did this production.
