Today Im behind the wheel of the 2024 Bronco Sport Badlands. So what has changed for 2024?
One of Fords best selling SUV's it is one of the best compact suvs on the market, even though its a very competitive segment Ford certainly builds an excellent suv for the money. Its very comfortable, has excellent room and has plenty of power for every day, even in this hybrid powered Escape. It certainly drives very well, has a good ride, not stiff but not soft either and its pretty quiet interior wise for sure. Lots of trims to choose from and also very fairly priced. This one in the video is priced at $41,450 , which is quite a bit of suv for what you pay for. Its an excellent choice of suv, specially in this competitive market.

I just bought the new 2024 Bronco Sport Badlands 2.0L I love mine my color is awesome metallic Grey
It doesn't have a driver side grab handle, but everything else is excellent.
Yeah, I wonder why Ford does not put one.. hmmm

I was all set to purchase one of these………Then I did some research on the 1.5 and the 2.0 failures and was very spooked by Fords poor engineering. And yes I understand they have made some changes but they are still having issues with cracked blocks in the 2.0
Ford seems to take forever to debug there spooky engineering……
Interesting point, yes they have had some issues and I think its certain years. I personally own a 2016 Ford Escape with the 2.0L Turbo, its at 128k miles, no real issues so far to be honest. I do maintain it with 5k oil changes, etc, so its probably why its done pretty good so far. I do believe that maintenance is key on ecobbost engines for sure. Thank you for watching!
Really like the badlands in comparison to what other car brands have to offer in the same category. However it’s the little details that bother me that start to add up. No power trunk no hydraulic hood the to capacity is terrible no ability to drop the seats from the trunk. For what you are paying around 40k these things should be standard.

I kept waiting for what was new. The only thing I heard you say was there were two additional paint colors. To me, it looks identical to my wife's 2021 Bronco Sport Badlands. I don't think there is anything new at all. That's not a bad thing, its a wonderful little off roader and drives well on roads. Its also very fast! But from the title I expected to see more than a couple of new paint colors. And its based on a similar chasis to the Escape, but not the same one. The wheelbase is longer on the Escape which is also why the towing capacity is higher on the Escape. I don't remember you showing the hidden storage under one of the rear passenger seats, but its a handy feature. You also missed the built in bottle opener in the back hatch opening.
Yes there were no structural/engine changes for 2024, mostly new trims/options, etc. Yes the Bronco sport has a shorter wheel base by 1.6" but its the same Ford C2 platform shared with the Escape, Corsair, Maverick and European Focus. Missed the hidden storage and bottle opener but im sure next time I do a Bronco sport i'll remember. Thanks for watching!
Since you have driven the BS badlands and the new Ranger, how do they compare ?
Good question! I The BS Badlands feels great, its small and has pretty good off road capability. The interior does feel a bit a smaller and definitely a bit dated due to its more basic layout and its smaller 8"screen with sync 3 system. On the road the ride is firm but still comfortable for every day and with plenty of power with its 250hp engine. The new Ranger feels more refined to be honest, its interior is more modern with its digital screens and overall cabin feel. I just drove the Lariat Ranger 4x2 and it rides great, very smooth and its cabin is pretty quiet at speed more than I was expecting. Plenty of power from its 270hp engine, I can just imagine it with the 2.7L V6 turbo thats coming soon, its going to make it feel quick! They both are unique in their own segment, it all depends on your needs but cant go wrong with either one. Thank you for watching! hope this helps..
