His existence is documented in the annals of the all-time bestselling, most read, most reviewed, most authoritative, most influential, and therefore most important book in human history. The movie was a disappointment! Disliked that much of the movie was fictional and they added things that did not happen. Harriet Tubman was truly a hero and they should have stuck to actual facts of her life. Guess the movie would not have been appealing to some had they stayed true to her actual life? Sad she died in poverty after all she did for others. Such a selfless person. Willing to risk her life in order to save others and their freedom.

      It's funny how you made that claim and yet there was no massive wave of conservatives that was upset about the idea. In fact, I'm a conservative myself and I thought putting Harriet on the $20 was a very good idea that she was very deserving of. In fact, I'm a bit upset and confused that it didn't wind up happening. Speaking of that: why didn't it happen? Makes no sense.

    • @DeadPixel1105

      Because she rescued 70 people. It's not Google saying that. The information comes from countless academic and historical institutions. Even Harriet Tubman herself said she only rescued around 70 people. It used to believed in the past that she rescued 300, but that's outdated information that has since been debunked.

  • @DeadPixel1105

    It wasn't 300 slaves. It was approximately 70. The 300 number is outdated information that has been debunked. I emphasize that this is not meant to minimize her accomplishments at all. But accuracy and truth is important when talking about historical matters.

    did you really say she led 11 fugitives north? Fugitives? That term would be excusable then. In this day and age? really? fugitives?

    • @DeadPixel1105
      @DeadPixel1105 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, fugitives. The term is not meant disrespectfully. In that part of the country, it was against the law for slaves to escape. So the slaves that escaped were literally fugitives from the law. The definition of "fugitive" is simply "a person avoiding/fleeing arrest". That's literally what they were doing when they escaped. That's all that's meant with the word "fugitive". Nothing disrespectful.
