They had to add a sense of drama, humor, and fantasy to the film in order to make it more interesting and even though People want to hear the real story, nobody wants to go to the movie theater and watch a documentary. The importance of this video is it is a continued reminder that American slavery isn’t ancient history. The descendents are still here and there’s still people alive that have had direct contact/ conversations with People that were enslaved. It didn’t happen “ a long time ago”. I lived in Ithaca, NY and had visit the Harriet Tubman's home in a school trip. The grandniece was there and it was an honor to meet her. She is so sweet. What a surprise to find out she is related to Harriet. I am related to some celebrities.

Same here. I was born in 1958 in Longview,Texas. My parents had Blue Cross Blue Blue Shield. They wouldn't give my mother a room. I was born in a ward in the basement. Also, the clerk who picked up my birth certificate form , changed the spelling of my name.

My Native American relatives looks similar to her.
