Definitely the lowest combined score for awhile, right? Both teams seemed to have a lot of "pass" answers, or at least more than a normal match. Also, the music round w/ the song from the same year took f o r e v e r. That right there ate up a lot of the clock.
Why did two of the Bristol team feel the need to explain that they currently, do indeed live in Bristol? I think that's rather obvious from one's enrolment at the university...
You sir, are a mystic! A magician! If we were in anything less than the 16th century, you'd be burned at the stake for witchcraft! Many, many thanks. :-)
Amazingly weak teams and ironically the winning score of 140 will be lower than the usual 150 required for the highest scoring losers to playoff for R2! Both took way too much time to wrongly answer the bonuses Lol Total questions a paltry 15 + 2 misses. Bristol 9 starters: Iredale 5 and Basu 4 (incl. 2 Indian refs 'White Tiger' and 'Sanskrit.') Bonus conversion rate a lowly 48%. Queen's-Belfast 6 starters: Hooton 4 and Breen 2. Bcr 61%. Q-B Breen should have been penalized 5 points for an incorrect interruption at 26:40 same as Bristol's Sumner?!?
ITubaUTuba Hopefully not. This year's lot are coming off as under par though I'm guessing its undeserved and more to do with the question setters and buzzer 'skills'.
ec06aaj I'd ask when you're going to say the same under your real name but cowards don't, so I'm not holding my breath Lol Your comment seems personal, so I'm guessing u 'starred' in one of my videos ROFL
ITubaUTuba Your point about the 2nd team not getting ahead of the 1st therefore no penalty seemed the obvious reason to me as well, then I thought of all the looooong bonus questions everyone has to listen to even though they're impatient to give the answer, indicating that for the sake of the show and the viewers, questions must be heard in their entirety, hence my reason for asking about Breens unnecessarily incorrect interruption. I remember Paxman actually scolding teams who interrupted bonus questions too! No worries. Just thought I'd put it out there. Tks!
Thank you. These videos make my day every Monday!
As someone living abroad without legal access to the iplayer, these are a godsend.
Thanks again!
Thanks for uploading, of course! Iredale has a formidable breadth of knowledge and power of recall
man how could anyone butcher the pronunciation of sofia coppola the way paxman did?
Brilliantly fast upload! Many thanks!
Thank you sooo much for this.. What a delight..
Love Iredale!! Thanks for the upload.
They are agonizingly slow. Especially the guy to the far left on Bristol
Lol, having an opener "In which constellation did astronomers discover the first exo-planet..." and two exo-planet PhDs on one of the teams.
the questions on the new atheists were softballs too
There was Japanese naval admiral (and most famous one maybe) called Togo Heihachiro. Certainly it's not just a country!
Togo is a surname in Japan but Togo was never PM😂
But it is a credible guess, I meant.
This match felt slow.
Must be the very mediocre teams.

Both teams seemed to be having fun whilst cantering along tho...
Yeah, they took a long time answering questions
Thank you for the crisp upload!
OMG I studied at both bristol and QUB! I'm so torn!!

20% of the reason I watch these is to learn correct pronunciation; another 20% is to listen to songs I can identify.
Agree except for name of Americans or American places. Sofia Coppola's first name was Anglicized for sure.
Unlikely to learn correct pronunciation from Paxman in my opinion.
You're never gonna learn correct pronunciation from Paxman 😂
Why did two of the Bristol team feel the need to explain that they currently, do indeed live in Bristol? I think that's rather obvious from one's enrolment at the university...
Yes, that felt strange to me too.
Btw, my political compass results are pretty similar :)
Thanks for this!
What did Paxman claim was the Norse word for castle?
Broch. (Old Norse - 'borg')
11:05
coincidentally thats an obscure show by Justin Roiland
hooray for english majors!
Bristol eats up 20 minutes coz of working together lmao Faster replys would be appericiated tbh
I'm going to apply to Queen's to do a PhD in Exoplanet Literature.

Where did u hear/see this rule?
ITubaUTuba
Hopefully not. This year's lot are coming off as under par though I'm guessing its undeserved and more to do with the question setters and buzzer 'skills'.
I'd ask when we're seeing you on the show, Sandroid, but I also don't care because you sound like a thoroughly unpleasant person.
