    well I learned something new on the filling lol. I like MTL because it feels good in the cold temperatures

      zepp ro haha yea mtl is definitely great for cold starts while the transmission is still cold during the winter time. mt90 takes like 5mins to warm but once it does it feels just like mtl in the cold but with slightly better gear protection. glad i was able to teach you this small great trick lol.

      Its Just a Base RSX how often you change the fluid? I change mine every 10k miles or 15k. I found that to be the best formula which is something inline pro recommended years ago

    I filled it with it running from where you check the fluid. Only reason why is because mine had a crack and it almost ran out so I JB welded the problem area and filled it back up

    have you ever tried amsoil? if you have hows the difference between the mt90 and amsoil. I'm running amsoil its okay but still a bit notchy even when car is warmed up.

      One of my friends runs amsoil, its very similar. U cant go wrong with both. Remember these oils are designed for racing and gear protection.

    Did ur transmission go out after this? I have heard acura and Honda transmissions go out after a change

    • @itsjustabasersx
      @itsjustabasersx  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely not true. When you drive hard you should regularly change transmission fluid. I highly recommend changing your transmission fluid yearly at minimum.

      @@itsjustabasersx The shop has said the transmission fluid was grey/black and it’s a 04 Would u reccomend a flush or just a change? And also my RSX sometimes seems to delay for a split second my Acura TL 07 did this too but only at lower speeds at around second or first gear most of the time and usually only happens after I’ve been driving in stop and go traffic in the streets.

    Hi man, awesome video.
    I was wondering if I can borrow a couple minutes of your time.
    I am not a car enthusiast but I own a 04 automatic RSX - premium edition - and I was wondering if you knew how to change the transmission fluid for an automatic RSX's?
    I can not find any videos online for automatics but I think there are many people out here like me who drive automatic RSX's. It's truly a wonderful car.
    This car has been with me through thick and thin since 04 and I want to learn a little more about it - although I know I am starting out quite late.
    If you can provide any instructions or sources of instructions for me to follow and read, I would be most grateful.
    I just did an oil change last month and I feel very good :D.
    PS: Is there an easy way to change the brake fluids as well? I am thinking of learning some of the basic maintenance skills so I can take care of this car on my own - at least the small minor areas.
    I think major areas, I will still need a professional to help.
    Thank you for your time, I look forward to your reply. Feel free to send me a direct email - heartadia@gmail.com or reply here is ok too!
    Ok, thanks again man!

      sh su hey hope all is well, im not too sure on how to change the transmission fluid on a auto rsx since ive never worked on a auto rsx, but im pretty sure its a very similar process. i say look for the online helms manual of our car and you'll find very descriptive instructions on how to do it. and for bleeding the brakes. i say definitely a two man job. very simple push the brake pedal down and have someone open the valve on the calipers very slightly and then close it, make sure u keep toping of the brake fluid in the engine bay. start from the closest wheel to brake master cylinder and move your way to the farthest one. there are many online diy on this. try checking out clubrsx.com hope this helps you 👍

      Thanks for your prompt reply.
      Regearding the Helms manual, which kind should I get? It seems there are 2 kinds.
      One is for owners and the other is for training technicians. Should I go for the second one or is the first one thorough enough?
      Thanks again for your time, appreciated!

      Sorry got another question if I may ask...
      The manual does not say the size of washer for the transmission fluid plug. Do you know what kind of washer this normally uses? Is it the same kind as the engine oil plug washer?
      The manual does have images but it seems transmission fluid change is very quick so their steps are also not very detailed. Reason I am asking is because most of the manual transmission videos related to RSX on TH-cam mentioned to change the washer as well...
      Sorry for bugging you so much. Thanks again!
      - Steven

      @itsjustabasersx  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sh su yes it's basically kind of washer as the engine plug washer. i personally never changed my transmission plug washer lol. but it definitely recommend to to prevent a leak.

    • @Heartadia
      @Heartadia 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I just changed the transmission fluid today lol....the washer was a different size than the engine oil plug washer so I used the old one for now. I did not tighten the drain plug tight enough and got a leak when I tested out the levels by starting the car. I was wondering at first why my level was having a difficult time reaching optimal levels than i look ed under the car and saw a puddle of transmission fluid!!!
      I quickly tightened the drain plug further and than did some more level checking and than took the car out for a test drive.
      So far so good, I did not see anymore leaking from the drain plug itself aside from a few residual dripping from an accidental spilling of the transmission fluid while i was filling it from the transmission dip stick hole. the dripping was coming directly from under the driver's side where the transmission dip stick hole is also located but the drain plug was near the center of the car.
      it is snowing heavily here so was not too difficult to check for leaks. if the snow changes to pink i know i got links lol...
      i am just praying there are no delayed issues. the test drive was for around 15 to 20 minutes around the neighborhood and upon returning, i did not spot any leaks.
      after letting the car sit for around 1 hour, i went outside to check again and i did not see any pink on the snow area.
      a note though, when i tried to unscrew the drain plug bolt, it was just incredibly tight that i had to use the help of a jack (Learned off of youtube). however upon retightening, i did not use the jack to retighten, just used as much strength as i had to retighten after the leak.
      i guess i am typing alot because this is my first time changing the transmission fluid and i just hope everything is ok.

    the fill hole is designed to be on the side so that people dont overfill the transmittion. lol

    • @itsjustabasersx
      @itsjustabasersx  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      WhiTeFA1R the transmission requires 2 quarts of fluids. the side fill hole makes it hard to achieve that, using the speed sensor hole allows u to add to quarts with out spilling any. and its just over all easier. honestly you got to be an idiot to over fill your transmission, most fluids come in one quart.
