My dad had dementia from his age of 63 til he was 79. His personality dissappeard in front of us but we were greatful for every single day with him. He loved walking even when he could not speak. Loved kisses and holding hands. 😊 My mom cared for him. He was at home.

Why do they keep calling it " all timers disease?". That's not how you pronounce it

Care is actually cheaper in a NF. Home care is very expensive and you have to rely on the staff showing up for work. Most people, low income and middle income, end up on Medicaid..

For people to have to think about. I think there is something to the idea to die with dignity while you’re still fully conscious as yourself. Just my feeling on it.

My dad felt love until the end. He smiled when we kissed him and loved walking. So, no, a big no to your idea.

The financial problems is USA problem. We in Europe get a free decent help for demo with dementia as well as for the family, particularly caregiver. So, you have to work with US health and social security sistem.
