    Neat find. Simplicity is a must at the beach. The auger at the base of the pole is genius

    This is Genius. Bought this after watching this video. I use it because of the easy set up/ light weight , and take down, better shade than any umbrella .😁 Its a great piece of beach equipment. A MUST HAVE

    I figured I would bite the bullet and buy a Shibumi shade. Now I have a decision to make! Great video as always Tom!

    Thank you for the review, well done and stoked to see it working in Florida! 🙏🤙

      It works so well I haven't had the opportunity to try the tie down stakes yet! People walk by and stare at it, then comment on how practical it is.

    In a previous video you were using the Shibumi shade. Obviously the Shibumi has a massive shade footprint compared to the Sobello footprint. The horizontal pole and front tie-off line of the Shibumi make its actual footprint even more massive and all of that massive Shibumi footprint could be trouble on a crowded beach. If a couple of people need a shady spot for their gear and a respite from the sun it would seem that the Sobello is the way to go.

    I have heard some reviews say it barely provides enough shade for 2 people and definitely no good for 3. Is this true?

    • @evolutionaryTom
      @evolutionaryTom  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Very comfortable for two. 3 is easy to cover as well. 4 is pushing it.

    I see another downside to the Sobello...suppose you're on a crowded beach, the wind shifts direction, the shade automatically shifts around to follow the wind... you're beach-neighbors, who you may or may not even know, are now sitting in your expensive shade, LOL.

    Preference ...Shibumi or Solbello?

    • @evolutionaryTom
      @evolutionaryTom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      If I had to make a choice between one or the other, I would choose the Solbello. Why? Because of the wind vain feature that automatically adjusts it for the wind direction. Often, the wind is steady. This time of year, not so much. I had both at the beach last week and ended up taking down the Shibumi because of the need to constantly adjust the poles for the wind direction. Love both of them but I find the Solbello to be good in every wind condition.

      If I’m trying to sit in the shade , I don’t want it moving just because the “wind shifted” , lol . Deal breaker.

    What if there no wind?

    • @evolutionaryTom
      @evolutionaryTom  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It has a no wind kit that works really well. basically there are bungee cords with hooks that support the back of the shade. Makes it sort of like a lean to but more roomy.

    Have you tried Shore Shade? Deciding between Solbello or Shore Shade.

    • @evolutionaryTom
      @evolutionaryTom  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't tried it, Lynn. I'm aware of it but I know the Solbello shade is the original and holds a patent. So for me, any others wouldn't fit the quality category that I try to stick with for my viewers. Out of all of the shades I have and have used, the Solbello is still my favorite because of how easy it is to set up, how effective it is at what it does, and the ease of transport.

      My first one is three years old now, still works great. We use ours very often here in southwest Florida. I think if you go to the beach regularly and find something that lasts, the cost works out well. If it's a once or twice a year thing, then maybe not.

    The Shibumi is HUGE compared to the Sobello. But the Sobello has a single poll and the no-wind kit.
    The Neso Tent although it doesn't need wind to make shade and is even more HUGE than the Shibumi, has a crazy huge footprint due to the pulled out sand filled corners. The Shibumi and the NESO aren't even allowed on some beachs between memorial day and labor day because they just take up too much room on a crowded beach.
    The Sobello is nice because you just have the one pole but if you get a pop up rain shower you're screwed. The NESO is water proof.
    I like the Sobello because it's super cool and I like all things that are high-tech, sleek and modern.

      Thanks for the comments! The Solbello is actually water proof too :)... and please check out this comparison facts chart we have on our site between Shibumi/Neso/Solbello/Tommy Bahama - solbello.com/pages/compare
      I hope that helps!

      Steven, For some unkown reason, I just received a notification about this comment. Than you very much for the contribution. I appreciate if very much. Just used the Solbello today as a matter of fact. It's my go to at the moment. So easy to put up and packs easily in the boat. Thanks! -Tom
