I fully sided with Rumpel in this arc. Regina can use her powers for good without backlash but when Rumpel does so? Unforgivable. I really like his tasteful callout of Belle's hypocrisy in the locker scene for this reason.
Rumpel's addiction to magic is what made it different from Regina. He could start off doing something for the right reasons but it would always lead back to ulterior motives and eventually causing pain to everyone around him that he cared about.
The darkness of what makes The Dark One also influences him. If there was a way to remove it while maintaining the powers, he would b just like Regina, Zelena, Cora and Emma (nothing was pulling his strings from the inside). Further more, the darkness was attached to his soul, not his mind and heart whereas the dark curse touched, so before magic came to Storybrook in s1 ending, before he regained his memories, it was there.

Am I the only one who finds Rumple amazing in the way he is? I mean, he is the best character on the show, and even though he's not a good guy, a hero, he is good in his own way, to me, he puts the interesting part on OUAT. anti hero villian by fate not choice should have just gave the villains a happy ending also dumbest character is henry I believe that power is necessary because it exist if it did not exist would not even be a problem the people who wanted end magic where actually the good guys!
Angie Nohemí Ortíz Rodríguez Sorta for me. I think he should strive to be the best he can be. He will never really be a hero, and that's okay by me, but he shouldn't murder anyone. Killing people while defending himself and others, yes, murdering because it's easier than finding another way or as overkill, no. Examples: Cinderella's fairy godmother, the guy who hurt Bae on accident (Rumple stepped on the snail), Hook with the hat. Malcolm/Peter Pan and Cruella were fine by me. Malcolm was directly threatening Rumple's family and Cruella would have continued her murder spree as soon as she found a way around her curse. But yeah, Rumple is the best Dark One ever. So shmexy.

Regina is using Dark magic for good, and she can wield light magic too, I mean if Rumple has good intentions to make things right. I see no problems, Belle should just make sure he doesn't go the wrong way about it.
+Mason Perry I think the reason why he cant do it is because people like Belle are forcing him to change. That kind of change has to come from the person themselves. Regina changing sides was her choice, everyone needs to step back and leave Rumple alone. I'm sure once he has space to choose and isnt being black mailed, he can change for the better.
+Mason Perry Rumple is a dark one and it's different in that case. He doesn't have plain magic like regina, he actually has dark magic which is evil at it's core
+Emily Dinges But they did and he decided to destroy all of story brooke all except for him and Belle just so he could free himself from the dagger remember? Also, he was a hero and he had everything but despite that he decided it wasn't enough and chose to get his dark magic back through some loop hole through Hook's death. He's had multiple opportunities to change without ppl forcing him and he always chooses power. I'm beginning to think it maybe isn't possible for him to change.

So, Belle fell in love with Rumple huh? Then why does she always feel the need to change him? You truly fall in love with someone when you accept them for them.. whatever happened to "always be yourself"? Tbh, in my opinion Belle is annoying. She always feels the need to change everyone, well hun, you ain't so perfect yourself. And why you always assuming everything is about you? literally someone would say, "Rumple is coming!!" and Belle will respond, "HE WANTS ME! HE HAS COME FOR ME!!!"
Everything Rumple does _has_ to be for her, you know, it's not like he's a circa three hundred year old wizard that's got plenty of stuff to do in his centuries old trade. His literal life's work isn't a drug addiction and you fell in love with him doing that, if you don't like it then suck it up and leave _permanently._
I would have thought rumple would be more powerful then even a god like hades since he claimed the power of all the other dark ones that came before him, he proved he was more powerful then emma's light magic, but would have thought he wouldnt need to fear a god or even his mother.
The fact that the reason these snitches are down here in the first place is to save Hook who just tried to kill everyone and destroy Storybrooke and yet Belle is getting mad about Rumple Lying about being The Dark One Again. The writers HAD to have been on drugs writing this season.

I love Rumple!
DEADDD
"It was an arranged marriage, I was doing you a favor." Is Carlyle channelling the 12th Doctor because this sure sounds like 12! Hee hee hee. I'd love to see Robert Carlyle as the Doctor! 🌌
Dark magic is highly addictive
Hes put effort into stopping several times but he doesn’t have it in him
She’s not to blame for judging him a bit
Yo, Belle REALLY gets on my nerve.
When Rumple plays Belle’s life low key tho 😂
Just a quick question if all magic comes with a price what is the price of opening that locker?
Her argument that dark magic is bad.
Honestly, that last arrow looked like Gaston would’ve killed Belle. Without Rumple, she would’ve been toast.
"oH so YoU geT tO BE tHE juDGE oF wHeN tHE EnDS juSTIfY tHE mEAnS." Says the dude whose favorite pastime is casual murder
I love how they just gotta read a fairy tales book to predict the future
Nicholas Rush .. . Nice
I would have thought rumple would be more powerful then even a god like hades since he claimed the power of all the other dark ones that came before him, he proved he was more powerful then emma's light magic, but would have thought he wouldnt need to fear a god or even his mother.
No one changes his face like Gaston! (well, except Robin, but he doesn't have a song)
The fact that the reason these snitches are down here in the first place is to save Hook who just tried to kill everyone and destroy Storybrooke and yet Belle is getting mad about Rumple Lying about being The Dark One Again.
The writers HAD to have been on drugs writing this season.
