Sure, but the Turks have damaged it first by building these horrid minaretts around it and second by turning it into a mosque. I visited it for the last time in November and I fled :
a ghastly green carpet on the floor and when the muezzin started howling this very moment it was like hell.
I will never forgive Erdogan for that, there are already enough mosques in Istanbul and Turkey.

      Just for the info...
Saint Sava was a member of the most powerful and most influential Serbian medieval royal dynasty. The Nemanjic dynasty. This family, which ruled Serbia for more than 200 years, produced 3 grand princes, 8 Serbian kings, 2 emperors and 2 archbishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Saint Sava was born in 1174 as the youngest son of the founder of the Nemanjic dynasty, Stefan Nemanja (born in 1113, grand prince from 1166 to 1196). When he came of age (in the Middle Ages this limit was 16 years old for boys) his father gave him a province (Herzegovina) to teach him how to be a ruler one day. But after only one year Saint Sava literally said: "I don't want this. I don't want power, money, titles and crown. I want to become a monk and devote my life to God". And so, at the age of 17 or 18, Saint Sava went to Mount Athos in the then Byzantine Empire. His father was against it at first but eventually accepted his son's wish. In other words, a prince just voluntarily renounced his power and went to a monastery! This is an almost unimaginable scenario in the entire history of the world, then or now! Especially now.
As a monk, Saint Sava became the greatest Serb of all time... Not because I say so, but because other Serbs who can carry that unofficial title said so. The greatest Serbian scientists, Nikola Tesla and Mihajlo Pupin, the greatest Serbian writer, Petar II Petrović Njegoš, the greatest Serbian athlete, Novak Djokovic... They all agree that Saint Sava is the man.
So what did he do? Saint Sava wrote the first Serbian code (with both civil and church laws), he wrote the first Serbian constitution, and he was also a writer (he wrote several books as well). He was a world-class diplomat, a polyglot, a great theologian and spiritual man. He was also a teacher, an enlightener and a man who built a large number of churches, monasteries, schools and hospitals. His most famous monastery is Hilandar, which is located on Mount Athos and which Saint Sava built together with his father, who also became a monk after he gave his crown to his son Stefan in 1196. Hilandar is also the first Serbian university.
But most important of all... Thanks to his diplomatic skills, Saint Sava managed to get recognition from the Byzantine Empire for the creation of an independent Serbian Orthodox Church in 1219. He also became the first archbishop of the Serbian Orthodox Church (Serbian Church became a patriarchate during the reign of Emperor Stefan Uros IV Dusan Nemanjic, but no Nemanjic was ever a patriarch). Because of his great contribution to Orthodox Christianity, Saint Sava was declared a saint Equal to Apostles, which is the greatest possible honor in the Orthodox world.
Despite the fact that the Turks, the Catholic church and the communists tried to destroy the memory of Saint Sava among the Serbian people and Serbian people in general, he still remained our spiritual father and the most important figure in the history of Serbia.

Shout-out to the Agia Dynamis in Athens. It's a tiny church that they built a modern building around it so it's under an overhang. Apparently it used to be a temple of Hercules and there's a secret tunnel leading to a cave system under it. Look it up, it's super cool. I've been there and totally recommend seeing it if you ever go to Athens.

The robe of Jesus Christ, the robe of the Virgin Mary and many other relics are kept in our country. Today our church’s patriarch is His Holiness Patriarch Ilia, everyone's favorite patriarch. The exterior is just a part of the whole story. The interior means just as much at least. It means more for me. The perfect example is the old Cathedral of the Presentation of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God and the new Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ and the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church, both belong the Sretensky monastery, Moscow.
The new is quite nice, definitely nicer then the old as it was quite cheap compared to some big old Moscow churches. But when in the monastery I will go the old one, just love being there. IMO most new temples are just too bright inside, I feel so much better in the twilight of old churches.
That said, my favorite Moscow church is the oldest one called Cathedral of the Savior of the Holy Image of the Spaso-Andronikov monastery. It is beautiful outside and cosy inside even though it lost all its paintings, it just feels perfect in there.

today's "First Throne" of the Eastern Orthodox Church although the Ottoman Turk Califate confiscated the cathedral in 1453 turning it into a Mosque. In 1937 the reform government of Turkey's Attaturk turned it into a museum but the regressive Erdogan returned it to being used as a Mosque.
When Hagia Sophia was opened in the 6th century, it was the largest Christian ediface in the world. The Emperor Justinian said, "Soloman, I have outdone thee."

We shall be changed 'Just as in the twinkling of an eye ' 1 Corinthians 15:51-2 Only by trusting in The Living God who is Love and Light, pure energy for well being, by turning away from sin which is anti to Christ's Love, anti to God's Love made whole and One in us, in our body, The Temple for God's Love to dwell through Jesus Christ. We only recieve the wholeness of spirit and the endorphin reward of the ability to emotionally process and reason for understanding the lies of sin and abuse which cause mental anquish, sickness and pain. We gain consciousness, courage, trust and twofold peace in the whole spirit of moral Love for enlightenment of Health and Love, namely Jesus Christ.
We wlll all be changed 'just as in the twinkling of an eye' - because the change is a nervous system change from stress and fear to Love. Love is always positive. Love is not a cortisol stress hormone, but an endorphin blood made whole in us for Healing for All Nations and Heaven on Earth as promised by God who is Love through Jesus Christ, Amen, Ameen, Shalom, Namaste, Twofold Peace to All Nations in accord with God's promise to wipe away every tear and to remove pain and suffering from man and woman and all inbetween to make them kind in His Love, Amen Ameen, Shalom, Namaste, Twofold Peace and healing to All Nations. Only one God created this world ... (Excerpt from message of Shri Datta Swami)
Hindus say that Brahman is the creator, Muslims say
That Allah is creator, Christians say that the creator is
Jehovah, all say that the creation is this entire world.
If Hindus say that Brahman created India, and if
Muslims say that Allah created Arabian countries and
If Christians say that Jehovah created the western countries,
The problem is solved, there can be three Gods together,
Who have created the three parts of the earth separately.
But this is not so, each religion says that their God only
Created the entire world, unfortunately there is one world!
One world only! Come on, all of you sit together here
And give me the final conclusion after debate, otherwise,
The scientists are laughing on all of you! Shame to all!
They criticize that these religions do not have even
The basic logic, which is the fundamental common sense.
Because of you, the greatest God is also mocked by them
They say that the religions are rigid conservatisms!
Even a small boy is putting this question to all of you.
Stop all your discourses and first answer this question.
If you want to say that God created the entire world,
You have to accept that there is one God only always
And that His names are all the above three names.
We see in the world a single person having three names.
If there is one God, He only created this entire world.
All the human beings are invariably His children only.
No Father is partial to a single child and therefore
He must have preached the same knowledge to all
In different languages and in different methodologies
To different levels, this is Universal Spirituality.
    Universal Spirituality for World Peace
