      @johnboyengland3476 yeah sadly you may have to be very persuasive or get them on your side. Let them know you're taking time out of work and you are missing out on a b&c because of your internet service don't working. I really just want someone to help me.

    I have FiOS 1 Gig. When I upgraded, the tech installed a CR1000A router, but an E3200 extender. I contacted Verizon and they indicated that the CE1000A extender requires 2 Gig and therefore won't send. I want to access 6 GHz channels, but the E3200 only offers two sets of 5 GHz channels. Am I getting bum advice?

    • @PizzlesTechTime
      @PizzlesTechTime  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah they basically are sticking to the message that they want to give their customers the old router that does not work wirelessly with the new one. I have been using it and haven't been really impressed with the results.
      I ended up hooking up my Netgear nighthawk X10 in my office but it doesn't have Wi-Fi 6E or 7. If you can get it for free it is definitely worth it otherwise I wouldn't pay for it.

      @@PizzlesTechTime my E3200 extender is connected to my CR1000A router via coax. I'm asking if their statement that the CE1000A extender requires signing up for a 2 Gig plan is BS. Is this video creator suggesting they have a 1 Gig plan and still able to use the CE1000A? I tried speaking to several different Verizon employees and they all said the same thing, CE1000A won't work on a 1 Gig plan, only a 2 Gig plan.

    When you connect the extender, will you see a separate SSID or will there still only be the original one? I thought i read the extender will just replicate the same SSID name. I have seen other extenders will broadcast a new SSID_EXT and you can connect to that one?

    Great news! I don't have FIOS but it's taken me six weeks and two rounds of equipment to get my extender to work wirelessly. Today after my fourth chat with support, connecting the gateway by ethernet, and being told by the rep she needed to escalate my issue, they had technical issues and I lost the conversation. So I just moved it to my office and hoped for the best. It's working. In my case, I think it comes down to crap directions for set-up and reps who mean well but aren't sufficiently trained (or tiered so escalation can happen). It's been a disappointing experience (I've been with Verizon for at least a decade), but it's working so I'm not going to ask any more questions.

    • @PizzlesTechTime
      @PizzlesTechTime  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Great video. I had the same exact problem, spending hours trying to connect the extender to my router. Verizon confirmed my extender would not work with my router. Unfortunately, they are out of stock of ce1000a.

  • @bannisss
    @bannisss 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Thanks for the video, Verizon of course sent me the E3200 even though I specifically asked for the CE1000A.
    Then they told me that the CE1000A was "unavailable", so I asked if they were out of stock and they said no, I have to buy it.
    So I go to buy it and it won't let me checkout, now they're telling me I have to upgrade my plan from the 1 gb to the 2gb or the CE1000A wifi extender will not work, which I do not believe.

    • @PizzlesTechTime
      @PizzlesTechTime  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No they are telling you if you upgrade your plan they probably can offer you that extender for free. I went through hell and high water with Verizon They waited 3 months to give me my money back for the one I purchased. The woman who originally helped me was great but she never contact me again like she promised. So I had to stop paying my bill until they threaten to shut it off and I called every week for like 3 months. 250 bucks is a lot of money to have up in the air. Super super frustrating seems like it will be the case whenever you're dealing with a corporation. I'm pretty sure the extender would work fine if you wanted to purchase it.

      I finally found a CE1000A on Ebay, but beware the first one they sent me was just another E3200, then I was sent the CE1000A after complaining.
      It hooked up immediately to the CR1000A wirelessly, then moved it the room I wanted it to and hardwired it to a switch to hardwire a desktop, phone and printer, for my office.
      I've been using it for a week it's been flawless and saved me from drilling through two brick walls with more exterior coaxial cable across a steep portion of roof.
      The download speed is almost on par with a desktop hardwired to the router as it is to the extender, router was basically 850/850 3ms and the extender was 800/400 8ms ping all on the 1gb plan.

    Hi I think I'm going through the same experience they sold me on trying 5G home plus . The lady on the phone told home plus ranges from 300-1000 mbps but now on the account it says up to 300 mbps so this is the first thing where I felt they were dishonest with me. Second they send me an extender bcz the signal downstairs is weak . I have CR200A gateway but they sent me E3200 extender which didn't connect and not until I watched your video and I realized it's an old extender ! Another reason I belive this extender is not compatible is when I try to add extender through Verizon app it shows totally different model extender CE1000A. When I called support they said no it should work and they made me repeat the same steps which of course didn't work . Now they want me to wait couple of days so they can investigate. Not sure why they are doing this . I'm having hard time believing it's all mistake specially it seems to happen to a lot of people. Something fishy is going on. What do you think? Thanks for your video by the way . Without it I would wasted a lot of time trying to get it to work.

    • @PizzlesTechTime
      @PizzlesTechTime  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That really is odd ... Your router should be c1000a. Maybe they tried to reconfigure the gateway to act as a C-1000A. Nothing surprises me anymore though but I try to assume they do not intend to hurt people. I have to at least try to believe in goodness. Also I quote this in a lot of my videos but stanloms razor says never attribute malice to something that can be explained by incompetence. Something along those lines lol and there is plenty of incompetence to go around

    • @PizzlesTechTime
      @PizzlesTechTime  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To be quite honest with you I'm not sure how 5G internet works. Although your speeds will be affected by how much traffic is in your area. Depending on how much speed you pay for on Verizon FiOS you are supposed to be guaranteed. At least wired but I'm guessing they do not guarantee any speed on 5G?

      @PizzlesTechTime I am clueless...I'm currently in a hotel so I went with 5g home plus they offered and don't me wrong 350 down is fine for what I need I'm just praying that eventually it speeds up as I know the equipment I have is capable of up to 2.5 gig speeds...with the 5g home plus you are paying for the highest possible speeds but only guaranteed 300 down and 20 up

      @PizzlesTechTime I do have a question tho...I have my wifi set up to automatically put me on the 2ghz...5ghz...6ghz...bands it deems appropriate and I average 100 down on 2ghz and 350 on 5-6 ghz...if I turn that feature off and choose separate ssdis for each band is it possible my speed could increase at all or in your opinion will it probably stay the same

    • @PizzlesTechTime
      @PizzlesTechTime  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @smokeytwitchsmokey I would say it would probably stay the same. It all depends on which device is connected. Smart home devices it's best to leave them on IOT network or 2.4 All your high speed devices should be on the Smart Network. That is how I use it at my house and I don't have any issues. Although when it first came out it wasn't great so I guess results may vary. Also your connection depends on your device what device are you getting 350 megabits per second? Do you know the Wi-Fi protocol is it 6, 6e or 7

    • @smokeytwitchsmokey
      @smokeytwitchsmokey 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @PizzlesTechTime 6e....my samsung a24 plus and iphone 14 plus both average the same...I'm happy with what I average and I know the potential is there for a big increase to my speed. I guess I just need to have some patience for now....I had t-mobile before verizon for my internet
      Tmobile 550 down 50 up for 60.00
      Verizon 350 down 25 up for 30.00
      I was able to secure that price by adding my acp benefit and converting it into what they call verizon forward
