By cutting the center of your trans cross member you can low the tail shaft of the transmission so that you have a straight line from tail shaft to pinion angle. Then you can lower your trans tunnel and best of all, not have vibration due to incorrect alignment from transmission to differential.
@roberthoy9922 I usually mount the motor so that the machine surface of carb base level ,and so the oil pan is just above the front cross member ,and the rear end pinion angle point down 2.5° to3° down with full weight on the vehicle when using parallel leafs spring ,with his set pinion angle shouldn't change with weight on it ,I've set up a few like this and have had no problems, last was 36 Ford pu BBC and 700r4 Trans 43000 miles on it hard miles over 100 drag passes no issues
The metal builds that look like wood blades are the best things I've use ,on my 10" sliding woos miter saw works great so far 30 cuts in on 2x3x3/16 tubing still sharp as hell ,unbelievable, worth every penny 70 bucks on sale at princess auto

That is the best way to look at it because why else would you have the engine and trans located where it is and with only guess work as to the relationship between body and chassis?? As for comments, well he asks for comments and there is a comments section. Why are positive comments such as "you actually brought about the twist in the chassis by working on it without securing it properly" interpreted as hate? Here is why: pride arising from ignorance or defiance. That isn't a mark of greatness. And greatness is bestowed by others not self. Let another man praise you and not your own lips is true from every conceivable angle. Now why would you love to hate that?
This is one of the best shows you've done. It speaks volumns. I need to put a floor in my 41 and this is amazing . Im swapping out frames . That cab needs a big big frame. With a lot of holes in it. Then a truck motor. And big tyres. So it is a torque monster. Not to go fast. But to be gone from the stoplights the first. And have a big dark sound, not loud... but present. A big old gasoline truck engine. With an insane gearbox. And that cab needs to be fire engine red. With Gold lettering saying Bad Chad... Or something like 'We haul the Queen here". The seat of the driver in silver. The passenger seat in Gold. You know. For giggles.
If you go back and watch some of his other builds, he’s done the same thing so it’s not out of the ordinary just to the guys that owned Prius and don’t have any knowledge…. Kinda like both of you.😂😂😂😂😂
The square stock is just tack to the chassis so he can build the frame for the floor. Relax guys watch till the end before making silly comments. He will build the floor put the body on and weld it where necessary. Makes sense to me to do it his way instead building the floor inside the car.
@@southernhellstorm6634 Before you have a heart attack, the floor is just TACKED to the frame. That way it fits the frame exactly. He will build body mounts to bolt the floor structure to the frame. After that he will go back and cut the tack welds, then install the new floor structure into the body. After 40 years in your supposed "shop" you should be able to figure that out! I've done it that way for MY 40+ years in the street rod business.
My vote is for all the haters to just settle down and watch Chad work thru the issues that we see. Nathan will come in and make suggestions where they are prudent. Remember, we're not watching Kindig or Ring Brothers here. Let's just follow the journey and see how the final product is. Chad is unconventional for sure, but in the end it usually all works out.

hey my friend. It could be the camera angle, but it looks like the rear shocks upper mount needs something. It looks like you could take the shock and slide it along side to side on the mounting bolt.

rear floor that covers rear diff/coil springs / shockasorbers you should make it seperately and bolt it down so ant adjustment etc to rear suspension is dead easy to get at..just make it seperate them bolt it down
The rear of the trans. needs to come down. The cross and trunion U-joints are meant to transfer power through an angle but that is too severe. It will have a driveline vibration.
The motor and transmission are way too high in the chassis. Hiked up in the rear. Never seen an engine and transmission above the frame rails. No place for the driveshaft to work like normal. I guess this is why everyone does his own thing.
You’re wrong older corvettes the transmission is right beside you, the seat pan is below the frame rails, it’s not going to hurt anything for this to be the same, and besides that they hardly ever drive anything they build, most don’t even get finished
For the comments about the steep drive shaft angle 📐 y’all might want to look under a Jeep. Particularly a lifted Jeep as long as the face of the flywheel or crank pulley is parallel to the face of the yoke on the differential it will work. If they were really concerned they could add a double Cardan joint. But I don’t think that is necessary given the length.
So are ypu going to make the floor fit the body or the car fit the floor qs the base of the frame and the car are no longer the same as you moved it back changing it. Just wondering

Hi Brad I have a question is the panhard bar going to hit the square tubing that was welded over it. From the angles that were shown I could not see if the panhard bar will hit it the tubing with suspension orthe springs are compressed. Love your channel.
Now you have 1 tank of gas connected to your welder what gas is in it? Just a question from someone who is beginning welding I have a weld machine just not sure what gas to hook up for best results for modifying cars your welder seems to work excellent

I think you’re working backwards again! The engine is too high in the frame and the driveshaft angle is incorrect. I would bet that when you installed the rear axle, you didn’t allow anyway to adjust the pinion angle either. Can we say driveline vibration?
I’m suggesting you put 2 U shape braces to cover in 2 place the driveshaft, just in case that big mother breaks the driveshaft and it starts whipping around. Gotta protect Jolene if it breaks. Hope I explained it ok. Safety for the driver.

You are aware the rear suspension is at the top and will lower when it's all done making the angle more straight

Use thst slip roll and make a nice round trans tunnel. More of a natural shape that just squared off. It’s the harder route but to me looks way better

They used to set up, gassers for weight transfer to the rear tires…. That’s probably why you haven’t seen it because you own a Prius.

I think you’re working backwards again! The engine is too high in the frame and the driveshaft angle is incorrect. I would bet that when you installed the rear axle, you didn’t allow anyway to adjust the pinion angle either. Can we say driveline vibration?

I’m suggesting you put 2 U shape braces to cover in 2 place the driveshaft, just in case that big mother breaks the driveshaft and it starts whipping around. Gotta protect Jolene if it breaks. Hope I explained it ok. Safety for the driver.
I don't think the flat head V8 with 80 to a 110 hp is going to be breaking the drive shaft..unless it has piss poor welding
