    JBG, a masterpiece.
THE FINAL EPISODE: Left me feeling unsettled and wanting more. Especially when Rumi died, I do wish we saw more. Perhaps even the camera lingering a little on him after he was stabbed would have helped us digest it. Rumi deserved at least that much. Sonya's desperate phone call to Farrukh (Maya was brilliant!) and her reunion with Rumi where for one brief moment we all feel relief! When Sonya's trying to convince Rumi to save everyone else, Wahaj's expressions of being torn were perfect! This boy can act with his eyes! Whilst everyone was amazing as usual, the performance of Talha Chahour pierced the soul in this final edition. From the way his voice cracked while defending himself to Fakhruddin, after he came back from Sonya's house "nahin sir.. aap mujhe ghalat samajh rahe hain, mein iss mulk ke liye apni jaan bhi desakta hoon". In that moment my heart broke completely. The plight of an army person, how they must always place duty above everything. Even if they are completely broken on the inside. All the army sequences in battle were magnificently shot. My favourite scene of the entire episode is when Capt. Farrukh is giving his speech to his troop about possibly having lunch with the martyrs and suddenly they are interrupted by the announcement.. Farrukh turns back as we all hear the order to surrender. The emotion on Talha's face said it all. And the way the camera is positioned, we feel like we are there with him in the battlefield. Bravo!!
And then the heartwrenching lowering of the flag. Can't find words to describe that feeling. Loss. Hollowness. And that was the end of this magnificent series.
Loved the addition of the scene from '47 as they are dividing the borders!
Personally, instead of the message that appeared at the end, I would have liked something like a small voiceover of Capt Farrukh with his last thoughts, (it could have even been a shortened version of what the message in black was saying) but it would have felt more impactful and complete and reiterated the fact that this story is inspired from the memoirs of Capt. Farrukh. Just my thoughts. Having said that, the choice of the last scenes being the flag lowering and then the border division was quite apt and powerful.
    Overall thoughts:
THE SETS/COSTUMES: Perfection! The locations were mesmerizing and despite knowing that the show is shot in Pakistan, when the little time stamp would give a Bangladeshi location, we all believed it. It really felt like Bangladesh from the 70s. The costumes, the props, everything was authentic of the time and the team needs an award for their attention to detail. And Maya Ali has never looked so beautiful. Those sarees, those nightgowns with two braids! ufff! CINEMATOGRAPHY/DIRECTION: Unparalleled! After each episode I can't help but admire the shots and rave about such gripping storytelling!! Every episode was par excellence. Take a bow Mr Haissam Hussain and team!
THE ACTING: Every single actor, big or small, whether they appeared for a moment or for a few episodes, completely owned their characters so much so that they became them. They gave possibly their careers' best performances. Amazing work! This cast will be missed too much! And this show gave us a hidden star, Talha Chahour!!
SPECIAL MENTIONS: This show gave us the BEST LOVE TRIANGLE I have ever seen. Such raw chemistry between Talha, Maya and Wahaj! *Chef's kiss* Can't wait to rewatch the show and re admire it.
The CHARACTER OF RUMI: Rumi's fight for the rights of his people, Rumi's passion, Rumi's unsaid feelings for Sonya, Rumi's loneliness, Rumi's revenge. WOW. A huge shout out to the writer, Moin Ali, for adding this character in, that would stay with us for a long time. And ofcourse to Wahaj Ali, for playing it to perfection. No one could have done it better.
JBG was an experience, a visual treat and a rollercoaster of emotions.
    Haissam Hussain please direct more!

Well said @Maryam, your reflection is so thoughtful and detailed, in the last two scenes Talha’s body language was such a pain to watch, my tears were not stopping by thinking what they were feeling back in 1971, heartbreaking and painful.... Kudos to the team and dua e maghfirat for those innocent souls who lost their lives during the fall of Dhaka , and salute to our brave soldiers of the Pak Army👏👏👏

Jo Bichar Gaye overall was pure genius; an intelligent combination of history and emotions. The director Haissam Hussain made it what it is...his matchless direction definitely made all the difference...the locations he chose were perfect. This last episode in particular was directed so well that I could feel every single emotion of these characters. There were some heart wrenching moments 1.the feeling of terror when Sonia was trying to save herself...my god maya just nailed it
    2. When Sonia was convincing rumi to save those women. Wahaj and Maya were outstanding. This particular scene got tears to my eyes.
    3. Capt. Farrukh coming to Sonia's house and crying after he doesn't find her...ufff talha what an actor👏👏
    4. The last scene....goosebumps.
Not only y the director and actors but whole team of jo bichar gaye has to be applauded. Brilliant CINEMATOGRAPHY, well suited COSTUMES, the perfect LOCATIONS and what not...jitni tareef karo utna kam hai...basically Jo Bichar Gaye is a great example of perfection. The brilliant cast chosen to play roles which were well-suited for them. Every single actor gave the roles they were performing their best which made all these characters stand out irrespective of how much screen time they got.
Talha chahour: an actor par excellence... he surely knows his craft so well...talha lived the character of capt. Farrukh...he nailed it in every frame. I'll be eagerly waiting to see him on the screen coz he already set the bar so high.
Wahaj ali: wahaj's performance as rumi was class apart...I can't even imagine anyone but wahaj as rumi...brilliant brilliant actor.
Maya ali: maya gave her career's best performance that's all I can say...she was mindblowing throughout.
All the actors were BRILLIANT but I really liked Nadia Jamil and Adnan Jeffer in their respective roles...what performances they both have given...experience speaks...both them were astonishing.
Jo Bichar Gaye will always be remembered as a masterpiece even though it did not get millions of views or ratings.

Once in a blue moon comes along a drama that simultaneously moves your mind heart and soul. JBG is one such. To say that it is magnificent storytelling from a tragic slice of Pakistan’s history will be an understatement. For it is more than mere storytelling. It’s an invitation to ask questions to ponder to reflect. To seek answers to how a people united in faith, who fought a common enemy to create a nation, could within 25 years be divided by language and fight and kill each other, and split the nation. Haissam Hussain has gifted JBG to every Pakistani. How I wish it would be made into compulsory watch in every college and University across the nation.
Wahaj’s Rumi with his haunting bewildered eyes will be etched in our psyches forever. Talha’s Capt. Farrukh with his naive courage has our everlasting endearment. Maya’s Sonia with her frail steadfastness our eternal admiration. Every cast member has delivered a perfect performance that has left a mark no matter how small the role. Cinematography lighting costume editing, every aspect of this drama was perfection. JBG deserves all the applause all the awards and so much more. ❤️

How I spent the day waiting for the last episode of 'Jo Bichar Gaye' is undescribable and how I felt after watching it , cannot be penned down as it is the stream of emotions for the Big loss and also for the ending of such a remarkable show.
Hats off to the Pakistani Drama of this calibre where writing, direction, cinematography and acting of the main characters to every single characters is of par excellence.
Thankyou Geo and the team of Jo Bichar Gaye, behind the camera and on the camera from the bottom of my heart and to others who share the same feelings as me.
What a wonderful wonderful pleasure to view this piece of Art!!!
See we don't need vulgarity to satisfy the audience, who is thirsty for the good content.
There's a fine line between modernism and ------------, Media should promote decent and modest culture in their plays, shows and award ceremonies. Please save your country, Jo Bichar gaya woh Bichar gaya, Jo Reh Gaya, Usey Bacha Lo!!🙏

JBG - I have to date never seen a Pakistani drama (apart from Dastaan and Diyar-e-dil) that has touched and connected with me so much. The fact that the team of JBG was able to connect with the audience and bring out that compassion, sorrow, misery, and so many more emotions is phenomenal. I will even go so far to say that Sir Haissam and his team have set the gold standard of what a 21st century Pakistani television production should be. In the time of dramas like Yeh na thi humari kismat, jalan, and so much other commercial work, projects like JBG are what make us want to stay connected to our roots in Pakistan.
Also You guys mentioned Maya and Wahaj repeatedly for performances. And I agree 120% that they were infact phenomenal. This was to date their best work. However, I feel that acknowledgement, recognition, and highest regards forTalha Chahour are due, not from just his fans, but from all the critics, the industry, and the recognition bodies/awards. As a debut for this year, comparing him with his peers Daniyal Zafar, Azaan Sami Khan, Zaviyar Khan, I think he has certainly outdone them all with his stellar performance. JBG gave us so much, and amongst its many accolades, is the fact that a star is born -- Talha Chahour.
Fantastic reviews Hassan and Amna - keep up the good work inspite of those keyboard warriors. You know you will always have a loyal following no matter what. - Love from Australia.

It feels like an insult to compare him to other new debuts. Like Omar shehzad or danyal or Azaan or zaviyaar. It feels so wrong. Talhas acting felt like he must’ve been acting for years and must’ve had so much experience. AMAZING

    JO BICHAR GAYE
No words to appreciate this drama and especially how they wrapped up the last episode giving us an open end…Even though RUMI and SONIA never got their happy ending but ‘JO BICHAR GAYE’ was never about their love story.
It was a story about ideology ,passion loyalty to uniform, struggle for freedom, pure love, and true sacrifice. It wasn’t our everyday love story but a tale about sacrifices that the people of both sides gave
Rumi, Sonia and Captain resonated with everybody who has once loved and then lost it. The ending was heartbreaking and disappointing for many, but it was true to its plot.

JBG was one of the best dramas for me in the recent months. The whole team deserves all the praise there is! This drama showed the saddest part of our history but with great sensitivity. Sadly it did not get much views but those who watched it will agree this was of Netflix level and even now if it gets aired there, it will be a remarkable success for sure. Jo Bichar Gaye: My supply of vocabulary has been almost depleted…there’s not much I can say that I haven’t said already…if Pakistan can dish out these types of dramas regularly, it’ll leave most other industries behind…historical based productions are usually dry and a bit boring…Hollywood includes explicit scenes to garner attention, Bollywood includes their usual naach gana to get the audiences interested…and here comes the magnificent Haissam Hussain with JBG…with silhouettes and undertones, without showing a single drop of blood, without any graphic, unambiguous scenes, with performances and storytelling and dialogue and dialogue delivery, he has presented us with this beautiful art…there was not a single character that any other actor could have played except for the ones who were selected to do so…Talha Chahour, what a rare gem…Maya Ali, where has she been hiding?…Wahaj Ali, best actor in Pakistan currently…Adnan Jaffar, tailor made performance…in short, the entire cast…gripping, edge of the seat, thrilling in every way possible…hope the rest of the productions take note…

Regardless, Haissam Husain honestly deserves every “best director” award next year. Unfortunately I don’t see it happening because this drama was so criminally underrated because of GEOs lack of advertising.

Sang-e Mah: The writer sahab's pen is blessed. The dialogs are beautifully evocative and are further embellished by the raw, minimal and very craftful performances of Dames Sania S, Samia M and Sir Nauman I. The scenic outdoors just adds to the charm of the story. What a beautiful reunion and a change of heart on Zargona's part. All's still not well in the mythical land of Lasbiran as it's still fraught with tension awaiting Hilmand's reaction to the turn of events. I can imagine being in the Globe amphitheatre and taken back in time. Simply love it!

No doubt JBG will remain a masterpiece. The praising it keeps receiving is definitely not biased. That entire team has done so well that most of the other trending dramas look plain stupid in comparison especially In terms of writing, acting, character development, camera work and consistency.
Wahaj definitely deserves to be one of the top level actors. None of his previous characters that he's played reflects on another project. I mean this boy went on to speaking a whole other language here as actors should when or if it is part of the characters origin/requirement. 😍👌
Hum bas ek do log ya actors ko sir pe chara dety hain, based on what? Ya shayad producers, directors ko lagta hain k humko yahi Chehre pasand hai? 🤷🏻‍♀️ khair the stupid dramas really need to stop. What a masterpiece, why we couldn’t speak up for 50 years about our tragic history, our side of the facts our misery, our army’s helplessness about Bihary people who migrated to East Pakistan thinking it was their Homeland. During last 3 episodes I watched it with teary eyes , when it finished I started crying, I really wanted to scream loudly when our flag was lowered and captain Farrukh and Fakhruddin kissed the flag. these are the memoirs of an army officer, it’s not a biased history penned down by a historian, it’s sad reality and experiences of an army officer.

And over all sinf e ahan needs to be a bit more crisp in editing because everyone's plot line seems to be dragging now. Despite so many characters n storyline, the revealing process is so slow that u lose interest.

They did wrong with Yumna & Ramsha. Same like Ahmed & Wahaj in Ehd e Wafa. Yumna is senior and most versatile along with Sajal among all main leads, but they are not giving importance to her character, giving her just just 1 min screen space from last 3 weeks. Even her character and track is more enjoyable than anyone in the cast...the whole Khanzada family is fun...but it's very clear what is happened... CRYSTAL CLEAR FAVORITISM.

Col Farukh said when he released from prison he couldn't go back to Bangladesh but he tried to look for Sonia and he asked 3or 4 people but he didn't get a definite answer but he was told there house was attacked. But Amna is right I was thinking after this drama how I will be able to watch another drama. Why, because the channel didn't produce the drama (Haissam Hussain did it), and were only distributors, so they didn't bother at all to advertise it properly and did little to no promotion of it. Sang e Mah: Although Hilmand loves his brother, I don’t think he would give up his forced right over Gul Meena. I do not understand his motive. What would he achieve through jirga proceedings against him? He can expose Haji Marjaan anytime, in a jirga it would seem as if he is accusing him to save himself. Haji Marjaan, on the other hand, can remove him through the jirga, as he already wanted to kill him. Hillmand only embarrassed and hurt his mother, further worsening her relations with his khala. That too backfired.
Sinf e ahan: We were told that Major Osama was brought to PMA specially for the training of girls, but we hardly saw that. Half of every episode is spent on his private life story which has no relevance to the main plot. We got the positive message, can we now, please move on. Not taking away from the " amazing" phenomenon that was "Jo bhichar gaye", this was not a lesson in history at all. For that you have to read books or watch documentaries from neutral, credible sources. It is a well known fact that Pak Army was involved in the massacre of close to 300,000 bengalis, whose basic rights were usurped by our ill-intentioned politicians and lots of innocent people paid the price for that and we never even apologized for our wrongdoings. In reality, Shafi Imam Rumi was a freedom fighter for the bengalis captured and killed by the Pak Amry not the Mukti Bahnis. People who appear villains to us were heroes to the bengalis as they were fighting for their rights. Rest assured "JBG" was a masterpiece that is going to be etched in our memories for a very long period of time.

Lots and lots of praises for Hamza for his actions and his performance in JBG.
Wahaj and Maya are all established actors and stars but Hamza is a new comer to TV, and as his first performance with all these stars, he managed to keep the same hold of his character as these artists. Amazing. Amazing! And need much more appreciations....
    Absolutely lovely acting by him....👍😊

It took me 2 weeks to get over JBG. A part of me felt dead after it ended and Sundays are no longer the same. Last week I was inclined to give up on SeM as well.
My next crush is going to be Badshah Begum.. Its fabulous and the OST is hauntingly beautiful

Loved when Hassan mentioned lighting in JBG. I felt that in JBG, light played a *HUGE HUGE* role in the story. Especially the ones where you see grief. When Sonia calls farukh and panics the way her face is. When Farukh cries, half his face is shown. That one tear from the side being showed. When Haroon died, the way Roomi was still on the gate, holding his arms out for Haroon, while Haroon lays there lifeless. There is a light shown between both brothers

OMG , JBG was best ever drama I have seen about fall of Dhaka . It gave me goosebumps , I cried while watching it . It reminds me of war time . I was kid and remember about all this , my father used to talk about it . We were in Malir cantt and three families moved to our house due to bombardment in Maripur cantt . My father’s first cousin was captain and he was posted in than East Pakistan just one month after his marriage . I can’t forget his talk with his mother on landline phone. My father took him to Clifton and my uncle tried to give money to guy with monkey ( bandar dance etc ) due to high winds money went into air . I can’t forget his laugh which was full of sadness ( khokhali hamsi ) He was martyred there and no body knows about his grave . It was a big shock to my family . Last episode reminds me of all that time and can’t stop crying . No one in my family ( brothers and sisters ) are watching this drama because of all that bad memories and pain . I insisted them to watch JNG , lets see .

Yes this question remained un answerd... But i feel it was Rumi... She just idealized Farrukh... If we exclude the fact that Farrukh and Sonia's love story was a real life story... Then the equation is solved easily... She always had been in love with Rumi...

The problem with Rabia in my opinion is that she doesn’t accept her mistakes and it was totally justified to how she reacted when Mahjabeen told her she likes her brother. She was shocked and didn’t want to admit that she made a mistake so she it’s started pointing out the wrongs in Mahjabeen. Even when her mother said you shouldn’t have done this Rabia was like “woh jhoot bol rahi hai”. I actually hope they do raise this point later in the drama bcoz this is a reality for many people, they think that they’re Mr or Ms perfect when no one is perfect.

JBG: since Rumi was a fictional character I always used to imagine what it was really like for Sonia in reality. All those scenes where she engaged with him, in actuality what where they filled with. I came to the conclusion that rumi was the human embodiment of the ideology of freedom for Bangladesh. That’s why Sonia was always so confused. We saw her in love with two men but in reality she had feelings for col farukh but couldn’t ignore rumi either. She may not have sided with that ideology, she could see that it would lead to disaster she still couldn’t turn her back to it. This Rumi (ideology) took away Hassan, led to attacks, turned from civilized to warrior and in the end didn’t really stay true to what it had started off as( as in peaceful freedom movement ). Rumi (the ideology) was used for other’s benefits, as a stepping stone to reach where they wanted to be and then discarded. That’s how I perceived it in JBG
    Absolutely amazing !!!!

    Sinfe ahan
Even from the beginning I've gotten a borderline snobbish, petty vibes from Rabia for some reason. Maybe because she's the pampered one in the house?
She's got many good traits but somehow unable to connect with her character. At times it also feels somewhat cringey.
And mahjabeen telling rabia was bipolar was kind of a low blow.
